Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Note: No Smoking, vaping, or cannabis anywhere on property and no pets allowed. Our Finnish Farmhouse is a log home that was first established in 1906. The home was purchased and completely renovated and restored from 2016-2020. The original logs have been restored on the interior of the home and many updates have been made. We are sure you will enjoy your stay with us.

The space
This is a 1906 farmhouse. It is a one and a half story home. There is one bedroom on the main level. There are two bedrooms on the second level. The stairway enters the upper level with a bedroom to the right and a bedroom to the left. Due to the structural shape of the upper level the ceilings are angled in each bedroom. There is no door separating the two bedrooms.

Relax and enjoy the country charm of this 18 acre property. We live in a very friendly neighborhood. Keep your eyes open for wildlife in the field. It is not unusual to see deer, partridge, turkeys and coyotes. Listen to the song birds. Feel free to walk up to the bluff. Sunset views can be beautiful. Sit in the gazebo as weather permits or on the patio with a beverage of your choice.

Guest access
The entire farmhouse is accessible to our guests. You will not be sharing the property with other guests during your stay.
Note: Guests who travel to ski our area trails and hills, or hike state and national parks are responsible to check appropriate websites to confirm if the ski area and parks are open and hours of operations. We do not provide updates on their operations.

Other things to note
In June 2024, we installed central air conditioning for those summer days and nights when it gets hot.

We upgraded our WiFi internet to Starlink. You should be able to stream movies and do e-mails. Cell phone service can be intermittent at the farmhouse. Most guests experience 1 to 2 bars of cellular service on their phone. If this is the case for you, we recommend using the “WiFi calling” option on your phone.

We follow Airbnb's enhanced cleaning protocol. We prioritize cleanliness and support higher standards for cleaning. High-touch surfaces are sanitized. Approved cleaners and disinfectants are used. Protective gear is worn to help prevent cross-contamination. Each room is cleaned using an extensive cleaning checklist. Cleaning supplies are available to you during your stay, so you can clean during your stay if you wish to do so.

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood is rural and friendly. You can easily take walks, bike ride in the summer, pick wild flowers, sit on the patio or in the screened gazebo and enjoy the country air. You can kayak at many locations within driving distance including McDonald’s Lake. In the winter you can snowshoe on our property, enjoy a day of skiing at nearby trails (ABR) or ski hills (Big Powderhorn Mt.) or curl up with a good book in our cozy home.

Our Finnish Farmhouse is located on 18 acres. A visible path leads to a bluff which is part of the property. The bluff is a great place to watch an early morning sunrise or an evening sunset. Feel free to walk around the field. In the fall it is not unusual to see deer eating under the apple trees along the field edge. During the summer, the fields are full of wild flowers. In winter, taking a trek on snowshoes around the field and on our marked trail is a good workout.

Tom and Joy are both retired. We love to travel. We are very active. We like to hike, bike, fish, hunt, garden, spend time at the lake and spend a lot of time with our family. During the winter months we keep busy skiing, both downhill and cross country. We snowshoe too. We enjoy nature and all of its wonder. We try to live each day to its fullest and enjoy as many sunsets as we can.
