The space
We've tried to incorporate as many natural materials in our bungalows as possible--tropical hardwood floors and carved doors, hand poured concrete counters, fresh foliage, etc. Our high barrel ceilings have louvered windows for natural ventilation, though bedrooms are equipped with A/C units. We've furnished the units with vintage Hawaiiana details, but we've kept things basic and hope you will enjoy a more simple way of living during your stay.

The Kulani Maui offers low-density, naturally airy accommodations. We have a total of 6 boutique bungalows with a maximum capacity of 12 guests at any time. On site parking for one vehicle per bungalow is included.

Each bungalow has its own private entrance, living space and outdoor lanai, and lush tropical gardens surround each bungalow.

A common open-air cafe greets guests at the property entrance, and we are happy to make you morning espresso, cappuccino and lattes.

Lahaina town is full of history. For many years, the king of Hawaii chose it as his home and capital. Its charming walking streets offer everything from local eats to gourmet cuisine, shopping, art galleries and local music. Wander around to enjoy historic buildings, temples, churches, gathering spots and more.

We are one walking street to Maui's ocean front and local beaches. Swim, snorkel, paddle or surf to your heart's content.

We are just a few blocks south of The Harbor in Lahaina, from which you can depart for whale watching, snorkeling / scuba, fishing and other excursions. The Breakwall is a great spot for surfing, and several local shops offer lessons there.

We are Pavel & Heather, and The Kulani Maui is our latest passion project together. We purchased the property 18 months ago and have been enthusiastically renovating to create our dream hospitality retreat to share with you. We love Maui and we love to share our aloha. If you don't find us in the garden or behind the espresso bar, you'll most likely find Pavel on the tennis court and Heather out running or in yoga. Of course, we love all things water too! Pavel has lived on Maui for nearly 17 years, and is originally from the Czech Republic. Heather has lived here for 7 years, originally from New York and then California. Heather came for a Maui vacation, met Pavel, fell in love and never looked back. Kulani means "resembling heaven" or "little heaven" in Hawaiian. We feel like we're in heaven every day we're in Maui, and we look forward to sharing our property with you.
