A description of Nice by "European Best Destinations"

Nice The Mediterranean art of living

A seaside city in the centre of Europe, Nice has been enjoying, in recent years, a genuine economic, cultural, artistic and architectural revolution.. Creative, dynamic, cosmopolitan, young, Nice is bubbling with innovative realizations worthy of Europe’s greatest capitals. Innovation is everywhere. Nice is on the move, constantly growing and evolving, always excelling...

It boasts cutting-edge infrastructures, from the international airport – the first busiest in France after Paris, with a hundred destinations all over the world – to its accommodation combining quality service and great capacity, and the ability to facilitate the planning of incentive events, regardless of their nature, their motivation or the number of participants.

The cuisine is as refined as it is delicious; it expresses the aromas of the Mediterranean, the diversity of products, the rich bouquet of the wines of Bellet, the mild flavour of olive oil, the excellent art of great chefs is expressed in the French Riviera’s best restaurants.

Life in southern Europe begins with the description of a sunrise on the blue waters of the Mediterranean, the well-being procured by the wonderful light that prevails only here, a lovely breakfast on a sun-drenched terrace, the tranquillity of a stroll in the narrow streets of the Old Town, lunch on a hotel terrace, afternoon shopping in the city’s prestigious boutiques, diving into the sea, sipping a drink on Cours Saleya, attending a classical music concert at the Opéra de Nice, a gala soirée at the Casino, candlelight dinner in a famous restaurant... It is all that and much more. Live a life of happiness and contentment.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Florent and Rani's home in Nice. My train was delayed so I arrived late at night and it was no problem. Rani and Florent even welcomed me at the gate, all smiles and excited. They are travellers themselves, so are truely happy to share your experience and to make sure it is enjoyable.

The loft room is great, like your own appartment and the house, close to town but far enough out to be in a residential area away from the tourists. Thank you Rani and Florent for making me so wecome, I hope to return one day and stay longer :)) Carolyn

  • The room was big and good value for money also suited very well for us. All amenities worked absolutely fine and we have had a great stay in Nice. The house is not far from public transport (cheap in Nice) and you can even walk to the city center (about 30 mins) if feel like. We could check in early and Rani was very helpfull and lovely host. We would recommend this place for anyone on budget.

  • We stayed here for two weeks and we were very lucky to get to stay with them. Both Florent et Rani super great people. They are very open and friendly. They are also very helpful. I recommend them to anyone who wants to stay in Nice. We enjoy a couple of great dinners with them. The house in clean and they made us feel at home. We had all of our breakfasts in the patio. The place is also not far from the center. Tram is easily accessible and the walk is about 20-30mins (which is nice since you can stop and buy some baked goods, coffee on your way to the city centre).

  • Rani and Florent own a house on a hill with a beautiful view over the city of Nice. With the tram just minutes away from the doorstep, you can be in the center of the old city within 10 to 15 minutes.
We had the room right under the roof, where you even have you own tiny bathroom. Be careful not to bump your head though! ;)
Rani and Florent are awesome hosts! They patiently told us everything we needed to know in fluent English.
So fluent in fact, that we ended up chatting for a long time one evening.
So if it's your first time in Nice and your French is just as poor as mine, do not hesitate to check in at their place. ;)

And by the way: Nice is just a wonderful place to be.
    We loved it!

  • Florent picked us at the train station. He is a really good host although we only see him at the first day.
The house location is good. We can take bus or tram to the city centre and the train station.
The room is comfortable although not very big.
It is pleasant to live there. I think I will choose here if I go to nice next time.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend in Nice with great thanks to Florent & Rani. I did not have the pleasure of meeting them but I had no trouble settling in and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of space and privacy I received for such an affordable price. Transportation was conveniently nearby and you can't beat that view!

  • Rani, Florent and Florent's parents were very welcoming and friendly during our stay. They gave us excellent advice on places to visit and things to do. The house is beautiful and is close to bus and tram stops. We had a great time and would gladly recommend a stay here.

  • Florent has a very beautiful and particular flat on the upper part of Nice.
We liked mostly the living room and the little patio, decorated with personality. He was nice to wait us at home, let us use his little garage and give us the wifi password and some suggestions about the city, then we didn't see him anymore because apparently he is renting his and his girlfriend room while she is away. The room is actuall very cozy but also low ceiling in some parts, we hit our headd as we were not used to the place.
It doesn't have any door because its access is through wooden stairs from a studio room. The door of the studio room has no key and tends to open automatically by the wind, plus the window shutters of the studio are always open to the patio, so don't expect complete privacy or to be able to store your belongings behind a locked door.
The house is easily reachable by public transport plus some walk uphill or even better by car, it might be a problem just if you have heavy or bulky luggage, also because from the street level there are overall 5 ramps of stairs till you get to the room. There is also a mini toilet, basin and shower integrated in the room, but without shower curtain and any door so probably much better to use the common bathroom downstairs. The common kitchen is well furnished and functional. The place is full of charachter, it added beauty and adventure to our few days in Nice and it's surely worth more than its price.

  • What went well:

+ Florent sent some information about Nice and its surroundings prior to the visit

+ Florent gave me the details about how to get from the airport to the house. It was really easy! Even his parents met me at the house, because Florent was working. They show me around the house.

+ My sister ( who came for 6 days) and I loved the house. We had a nice time here!

    What didn’t go so well:

    - When I arrived the toilet was dirty. There was poo in the loo (on the pot), so it hadn’t been cleaned. I had to clean the bathroom. There
was also hair in the bathroom and on the floor.

    - There was not enough toilet paper. I had to find out where the supermarket was.

    - There were workers at the house and they were building a new room downstairs. Some of the days were really noisy.

    - The house is far from the city center. You have to walk 5/8 minutes to the tram station and it takes 20 minutes downtown.

The house is great and there is a lot of space for reading, chatting and cooking. Florent and Rani are aware of what happened and are sorry. Florent took me to the airport and Rani invited me for a free night and a bottle of wine next time I go to Nice in order to apologize for the inconvenience.

  • I had an absolutely wonderful time staying with Florent and Rani. Not only did Florent pick me up from the train station, but he was kind enough to invite me out and show me historic Nice on our way to dinner. The room was extremely comfortable and the house was beautiful and well-located. Highly recommend staying here. I certainly hope to stay with them again should I return to Nice.
