Ellen's garden studio is very comfortable and in a great location. It is within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants on 24th St., the 24 and 48 buses, and the J Church Muni line. My girlfriend and I recently moved to the City for new jobs, and Ellen helped make the transition easy. She responded promptly to our initial inquiries, confirmed the two-week booking right away, and welcomed me upon my arrival with a beer in the refrigerator and coffee for the morning. We especially enjoyed the garden, which is quite large and easily accesible through a pair of French doors from the bedroom. The studio has a queen bed, a full bath, a small kitchen, and a small sitting area. Access to the studio is through the garage, which might take a little getting used to, but it was not a problem at all. We would definitely return.
I lived two weeks in Ellen's clean, tastefully styled and beautiful equipped Garden Apartment. What ever someone needs, has been there: A small kitchen with micro wave, water cooker, dishes etc. as well as wardrobes, iron, vacuum cleaner and of course a large and comfortable kingsize bed too. Private bath and shower where large and soap, shower gels including soft towels have been available. Water was hot and during cooler days, the apartment has been heated. Once my rooms have been cleaned up in my absence by an invisible ghost. There was a door directly out into a lovely garden with trees, birds, butterflies flowers and chairs, good to test SF's weather in the morning, to burn a bit in the sun during the day or to have an outdoor smoke in the evening. The apartment is situated in a silent and clean district at the foot of the twin peek hills. Downtown, or the BART, was easily achievable by Muni Buses like Nr. 24, 35 or 48. And, across the street there was a small but friendly shop, serving coffee, drinks or self made sandwiches to the guest's discretion.
Ellen was very kind and help full, responded and confirmed quickly to my booking and mails and personally welcomed me at the time of my arrival. She discreetly let me all my privacy, but always was ready to help me when ever I'd had need her help. Log in and -out was formless, easy and familiar. I felt sure and at home from the early beginning of my stay and never had any stress there.
I give 6 Points for this location, always will keep Ellen Stein, her lovely Garden Apartment and San Francisco in my best memories! Thank you very much, Ellen!
It's hard to say, what the best part about my stay at Ellen's fantastic studio was. Ellen is one of the nicest host I have met so far. Friendly, helpful and fun. The studio it self is perfect as well. Great location, beautiful decorated and well equipped. As I told Ellen on my last day, I will definitely be back!
Ellen's place is in a great location in the noe valley.
The apartment is warm and cosy. Modern shower and kitchen, and a great outdoor garden.
Ellen was quick to respond, easy to reach, and very welcoming.
I highly recommend Ellen's place while visiting San Francisco.
Ellen is charismatic, easy-going and caring host. She provided everything I possibly needed and the place is very nice with great kitchen and beautiful garden. Highly recommended.
Running Bay to Breakers got there late and she was patient with my being very late. I had to work and drive two hours. I liked she had two beers in the fridge for us. The rooms on expedia were $350 and I rented for $150 a much better deal.
