Interaction with Guests
Once i have shown someone on board I usually just let my guests enjoy themselves. If a sailing trip were to take place then Capt. Mike would be aboard.

Mike was very friendly. He had just gotten back from a sailing trip and took the time to make sure the boat was clean before we jumped in there. The boat is off a dock at the end of 1st street in La Conner. Nice quaint town in the pacific northwest. Mike was really neat about letting us shower at his bed and breakfast place up the street (which was awesome in itself). He also shared his many musical talents!
This was a once in a lifetime experience. Capt. Mike was friendly and accommodating. Although there wasn't any hot water on the boat, we were able to take showers at the nearby B & B. The kids enjoyed the idea of sleeping in a boat bunk.
On the plus side: Mike was prompt, friendly, and helpful. His B & B, where we met him, was lovely, and I wouldn't mind going back for a stay there. The town of La Conner is quaint and has many restaurants and shops (and clean public restrooms!). We saw a sandhill crane feeding at dusk. On the minus side: The boat is docked in a channel on the edge of town, near an abandoned warehouse. Our view from one side was of a sort of commercial fishing area, and from the other was the pilings underneath the dock. The boat didn't lock, and we were two women alone, so we felt a little nervous; I'm sure we were quite safe in this small town, but future guests should know that you can't really lock your door. The boat was as clean as a homemade, 45-year-old boat can get, but very cluttered, and it smelled like some sort of fuel. Being docked in a channel, we didn't get to fall asleep to the rocking of the waves, as there were none. I think that the reviews that say the experience is like camping are fairly accurate; just be aware that it's like camping in a borrowed RV, not your own tent.
Mike was very welcoming and showed us around his bed and breakfast before taking us to the boat. It was just as it looked in the photos...very homey and comfy inside with lovely views from the deck. We were also going out sailing with him so very happily agreed to have Matthew the border collie as our first mate.
Great views and wonderful times were had by all. Thanks Mike!
Mike was very welcoming, and the boat was clean and had plenty of space, and the location could not have been better, right next to town.
We were on a short notice get out of town mission. Where's Laconner? The boat was amazingly placed next to downtown, it was really well kept and super fun to hang on the deck and play board games. Mike is awesome, Laconner is a hidden gem, book it. Seriously
Mike was very friendly and welcoming. The boat was cozy. I agree with another reviewer it was most like camping on the water. We were able to go to the BnB and shower which was great. Nice quiet area while still very close to the main street in LaConner. Loved the getaway!
