  • We absolutely loved staying at this beach house!! It was our first real family vacation in years, including our family dog since it was pet friendly. It was even more meaningful since we were celebrating a 35 year anniversary for the parents, a 2nd birthday for the niece, a recent college graduate, and my own 1 year wedding anniversary!! Needless to say, our hopes of a fun getaway was high and this house surpassed it. The house itself was the perfect size for our family and had all the essentials we needed. The kitchen was very well-equipped for all of our family meals and we definitely took advantage of the gas grill on the spacious deck. The deck lounge chairs were comfortable and perfect for soaking in some sunshine. We had both a sunny day and a rainy day during our stay, but the view was equally beautiful and calming. When the tide was low, we went exploring on the beach and had a fun clamming and beach-combing experience. Our little yorkie loved the huge yard and even splashed around a bit in the mud and water. For some down time, the cable TV was a plus and it was easy to control the temperature in the house. As another reviewer mentioned below, there were no screens on the sliding doors and windows (except in the attic room), so we were careful to keep them closed during the night to keep the mosquitoes away. Charlie was incredibly easy to communicate with and had very timely responses to my many questions. It was a beautiful home in an amazing location and our perfect family getaway. Thank you Charlie for opening up your home and allowing us to create many treasured memories. We can't wait to go back!

  • This cabin was perfect! Charlie was easy to work with, and had prompt replies via text about questions while we were there (thank goodness, or there wouldn't have been marshmallows roasted... We needed roasting sticks).

Gorgeous space with many rooms and lots of light. The place was clean, welcoming, and had a total beach house feel.

A walk down to the rocky/pebbly beach was easy... 10-15 stairs and you were there. It was fun to watch the tide go in and out. Pretty drastic difference!

The grass was soft and mossy. Somewhat squishy, but really nice to walk on. Well enjoyed.

The patio was a super win. HUGE, and they had a propane grill that was ready to rock. We were very comfortable enjoying the sunshine on the patio, and enjoying our nights by the fire.

There was a review that complained about dog hair, but the place was very clean when we were there. I didn't find even one. None of the issues brought up in previous reviews were issues at all while we were there.

I am very pleased with this space, and should I need another cabin like this, I will definitely be renting it, and suggesting it to friends.

    Thanks, Charlie!

  • This was such a beautiful place to stay. Great water views. We also enjoyed midnight walks on the beach. This place was big enough to bring friends & family. We also enjoyed some outside adventures by going Manila clam digging & oyster ing at Oakland bay which was only about 15 or so minutes away. Down town Shelton was only a 5 min drive away. We enjoyed a couple of tasty meals there (smoking Mo's & Bob's tavern). For all you chefs out there, this place was stocked with many pots, pans, & knives to prepare dinner. They even had basic seasonings to use. The host Charlie was great to work with & one of my favorites. He quickly answered all my questions about our trip. I would definitely come back again.

  • Great Place! Clean and super comfortable. Beautiful location. We were in town for a family event and it was nice to have a place for a few to come visit afterwords. Weather was expected but would love to return in the summer to enjoy all the amenities.

  • We just returned from a weekend away at the South Puget Sound Beach House and overall it was a very nice relaxing getaway. The outdoor space is the best feature; we really enjoyed the deck, lounge chairs, yard, hammock and beach area. The views are beautiful at all times of day.

There are a few cons with the property. One of the two queen beds (the one on the first floor) is very creaky. Loud creaky. So much so that none of us could imagine sleeping on it. As a result, one couple had to sleep on two separate twin beds, in the second bedroom on the first floor.

The carpet in the living room/dining room area was heavily covered in dog fur, as was the large arm chair in the living room. This is great if you have a dog, but not so great if you have toddlers (or allergies to pet dander!).

And, we encountered lots of mosquitoes at night, which is good just to be aware of. None of the windows have screens so you can't open them to air out the house at night--unless you want to fend off the mosquitoes inside. Bring your bug spray and repellant candles so that you can try to enjoy the patio at night.

Hopefully those few inside details will help you plan for your visit. It is a nice trip to take for a quiet, remote, and peaceful location. Great shade and sun on the patio and some of the best lounge chairs we've seen!

My Family owns two cabins in the Pacific Northwest. One is in South Puget Sound on Hammersley Inlet and the other is at Priest Lake in ID. I have grown up going to the places and they are great to relax and have fun.
