Where you’ll be

Hermanus, Western Cape, South Africa

The cottage is a 5 minute walk to the Cliff path overlooking Walker Bay. In season (August - October) one can watch the Southern Right Whales. Mother, minder and calf come within 100 meters of the shore-line at times.... whilst a little further offshore, the male goes through his repertoire of breaching and tail displays.
For the all year-round visitor, Hermanus offers plenty.
The visitor has a 10 minute walk by road, to the centre of town that boasts a collection of shops from Art to Bric-a-brac, from Supermarkets and Pharmacies, to Sports equipment and Clothing etc..... or a 25 minute walk along the Cliff path.
There is a large selection of Restaurants offering traditional fare including, as one would expect, a variety of freshly caught fish, in the Village Square and in the town.
For those who enjoy long walks, there are trails that take one up the hills through acres of fynbos. At the summit, there is a beautiful view of Hermanus, with Walker Bay as a back drop.
For the more relaxed visitor, a visit to the blue flag Grotto Beach to laze away the day and enjoy a sundowner on the beach.
