On Sale! Huge City Warehouse Apt #1

Apartment - Private room · Hayward Ln, Melbourne, VIC 3000, Australia

The Space

Inner-city Melbourne is famous for its laneways and 'hidden' bars and it doesn't get much more inner city than this!

Sadly at the moment it's also noisy during the day time due to construction work across the street. During this time daily rates have been reduced to $90, with weekly and monthly rates also reduced. If you intend to be out and about during the day - this will be great value for you!

This is one of two double bedrooms available in this 240sq.m two-storey warehouse conversion. These rooms, which share one large bathroom, are well sized and fully furnished with Queen sized beds. (#2 room can be booked via http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/307630?preview=true)

Guests have access to the whole house and all facilities - including a full kitchen, separate laundry, rear courtyard, large living and dining areas. Internet is available and a laptop PC is also available if needed. There are hundreds of books to read and DVDs to watch - but you'll be far too busy - as the house is only minutes walk from Melbourne's best restaurants, bars, galleries, gardens and shopping; including the Victoria Market.

The house is occupied by myself and one very laid back dog called Roger, as well as any other guests. Please note that this is a 25 year old conversion in a 150+ year old building so not everything is 'shiny and new'; it is however very large and comfortable. Cheaper rates for weekly and monthly rental are available, just send an enquiry through the booking screen.

Trams and trains are right outside and the area is serviced by a number of airport bus services. There is no parking attached however there are two commercial parking facilities within 50 metres and several more within a block or two (be very careful if trying to park on the street in Melbourne, as there are tow-away zones which change during the day).

  • We stayed nearly 6 month with Sharyn and had a great time. She is a lovely person with a big heart and she always has an open ear. If we will come back to Melbourne we will stay with her again!

  • My stay in Sharyn's house was a wonderful experience. As my second stay using Airbnb as a tool for saying in the city, I was unsure what to expect. From my arrival Sharyn was extremely welcoming and friendly, I felt immediately comfortable. The bedrom was great with everything I needed including ample bed linen, towels , access to a well-facilitated bathroom and plenty of mirrors! There was a great amount of privacy also. I had a fantastic one night stay right in the heart of Melbourne and easily found my way to where I needed, as Sharyn was also happy to help me in this regard. I definitely highly recommend this apartment to anyone who needs a bedroom and a bathroom in a central location. I dare say I will be returning here again in the future!

  • This place was not my cup of tea. I guess it comes down to personal taste. When I travel I prefer to stay in something nicer than my own....
I learnt to thoroughly read descriptions and really study pictures from now on.
Reviews are always good too hence I leave this one....
Very cluttered, felt a little unkept....

  • Sharyn is a very hospitable host - really welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our stay here while relocating to Melbourne. The apartment is in an excellent location and it's great being able to use the kitchen and washing machine.
Thanks to Sharyn (and Roger) for having us stay in her home.

  • The location was perfect! Sharyn was very easy going and very helpful. I loved the high ceilings and layout of the house. Rodger the dog was obviously well loved, and not bothered by me at all. I enjoyed my stay. Thank you.

Busy, laid back, shopaholic and very social. I holiday whenever I can afford to and travel internationally at least once a year. I spend a fair bit of time walking my dog and pretending to get fit. I am an IT consultant, so I work from home much of the time. Must have: Good wine, coffee, cigarettes, music, books (and ear plugs for sleeping) Can totally do without: reality tv, talkback radio, backpacking and bad food. Next holiday: Bali (again) My motto: Does it come in red? My other motto: Life is short, buy the shoes!
