Linda's hospitality unmatched-- we were treated to a warm welcomes and bounty from her garden. Take the short path through the beautiful plantings to a great swimming beach. Linda offers chairs and beach towels. The casita offers cooking essentials and a small refrigerator. it is in easy walking distance to several restaurants ,fruit and vegetables stands and a small grocery. Linda is a true gem and a wealth of information. She is available for advice and assistance on restaurants, tours and transportation. Martin, the driver Linda scheduled for us, was a very careful driver and a delightful person as well. We would LOVE to return!

Location! Location! Location! We stayed in the beautiful Bella Beach House that's located right on the beach with views of each majestic volcano. Five adults slept comfortably, had hot water showers and feasted on local foods flavored with Linda's garden herbs. Along with this beautiful home (Linda graciously moves next door so you can move in) comes Linda. She is a wealth of information on Nicaragua and the community of Ometepe. She is well connected and a strong supporter of the local community. She will help you in any way needed and keeps an eye on things so you feel safe and secure. Her three adorable dogs help too and are always there to greet you. Our family also appreciated the strong WiFi connection. Highlights included walking to hike Maderas Volcano with Abel (our guide who Linda arranged), daily swims in the lake, and laughing and playing games one evening (Linda joined us too!). If you're going to the magical island of Ometepe, this is the place to stay.

My sister and I visited Ometepe for a few days and had a wonderful experience staying at Linda's Casista. Linda's property has beautiful views of the beach, lovely gardens, adorable dogs and is centrally located in Santa Cruz. The property is walking distance from several places to eat including Los Cocos which had delicious fish! Linda was a fantastic and hospitable host. She coordinated our travel to and form the island and was extremely helpful in arranging our activities (kayaking, hiking, touring the island etc). Linda provided yummy vegetables and herbs from her garden, traditional Nica breakfast, and other treats during our stay! We had a lovely time cooking breakfast in the Casista each morning. Linda's place is the perfect place to stay to have a spectacular and special time on the island of Ometepe!

Hosting you was my pleasure and reminded me of my sisters too. I loved sharing my garden produce/herbs with you as well as the Nicaraguan specialties and what makes Ometepe Island so special. Your stay was too short so maybe some day you will return for more adventures and the island pace of life.

The property was beautiful. The constant breeze off the lake took care of the heat. The garden was beautiful and Linda graciously shared her cilantro and mint for some of our necessities. If you are not into cooking there is some great dining options acrossthe road or just down the street. Linda was there every day to make sure we were taken care of and give advice on activities or any of our requests. Her knowledge of the island and mainland was a huge asset on our trip. A wonderful holiday and highly recommended.

Linda's place is like a second home. The private apartment, located in front of the beach, is very big, clean and well furnished if you want to cook. Linda lets you pick herbs from her beautiful garden, and if you don't feel like cooking, there are several restaurants and shops nearby. Linda is a very helpful and generous lady, not only with her guests, but with the community as well. So if you can bring school supplies for the students and teachers of Ometepe, you'll may be lucky enough to taste one of Linda's famous desserts. P.s. The house's doggies are cute!

Linda's is for sure the nicest place in the area! Beautiful location right by several delicious places to eat home made local Nicaraguan food. Linda coordinated all our travel to and from her place, connected us with any excursions we wanted to go on and provided a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Walking distance to the Maderas volcano, beautiful spot on the beach, surrounded by many places that make fresh fruit tropical smoothies and delicious food. Linda was also an amazing host. Several times she surprised us with coconuts from her yard. She was an absolute delight to talk with about her many adventures around the world.

International teacher & traveler, bilingual, very active in local issues including education, water and community projects such as local road and beach clean ups every season with the neighborhood children and offer English, computer and art classes to the local community children. Currently working on trying to get workable laptops for excellent 2nd year university students. Donate a used but good laptop - take everything off it and donate it to progress in education. It really makes a difference to these students' educational success and their families future too.
Also we accept anything for the local school children and teachers since the schools, children and their families basically have nothing. Items can be used and in good condition including puzzles, coloring books, stickers, backpacks, or anything for school and learning will be put to very good use and bring lots of smiles.
Sporting equipment, used clothing and shoes in any size are all appreciated and will be donated to the local school children who help to clean the beach and road several times a year. Teach volunteering in the community, recycling and environmental awareness. All donations will be greatly appreciated and support educational success!
Every backpack, pencil, eraser, sharpener, scissors, glue stick, box of crayons can make a huge difference to these children, families and communities.
Please let me know if you can help to bring donations!
We enjoy hosting guests and meeting new people - sharing from our gardens or something unique and wonderful from the island along with intercultural exchanges.
Your reservation for our guest house is a donation with profits used for our local educational/environmental projects supporting local school children, teachers and families. We have received excellent reviews on travel sites such as tripadvisor, etc.. and we appreciate recommendations.
We look forward to meeting and hosting you on magical Ometepe Island!
