Great spot in a great location. Was able to sleep 5. The owner is very very nice and accommodating. I recommend.
Host: Io is sweet, pleasant, and easy to reach through email or texts. She responds almost immediately, which is SO helpful when you are planning a trip. Best of all, she is flexible and easy to work with - especially since we weren't sure about our when we would actually make it to the house and be able to check-in until.
House: Charming older home with all the amenities of a newer home. Original details, well maintained. The wifi, netflix, hulu, and BIG projector screen were such a treat each evening, that my husband insists we need one in our home. The beds are so comfortable and CLEAN (So important - smelled of crisp, clean linens). The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need, down to bottle openers, every single type of cooking utensil, and a brand new clean dish sponge. Perfect for a long stay that involves preparing meals at home. Central heat worked great for chilly nights.
OVERALL: A great first experience as an airbnb user. I couldn't have asked for a more gracious host and pleasant place to stay. Thank you so much Io (spelled i-o). :)
My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at Io's home. The house was in a wonderful location, had plenty of room for the four of us, had the wonderful media center for when we felt like hanging out, and had a great kitchen for when we wanted to cook. I would definitely stay there again when visiting LA again.
IOs place is perfectly located to do touristy things in Hollywood. Her house was clean and welcoming, the AC was already running when we got there so we got a nice cool bed to sleep in (in a ridiculously HOT summer). We used her home theater multiple times and it was a fun place for the full family to hang out. I would definitely stay there again.
Io was a great host and we loved staying at her home. Her place is so cool and we especially enjoyed the awesome projector and the great front yard. Atwater Village is such a fun neighborhood and from the house you can walk to lots of restaurants, bakeries, and cafes. This is the perfect home away from home in LA.
My mother and I had a fantastic time staying at this house. It was in a great, safe area with lots of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Not far at all to get to the 5. The place itself was great; we used the projector every day to watch netflix and check email on the big screen. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the yard was a great space to relax and smell the (website hidden) was a fantastic host - she helped us pick out restaurants and was super pleasant. We will definitely be back. And the beds!! They reminded me I need a new mattress at home...
My entire experience, starting from the inquiry process to emailing with the owner about things left behind, was incredibly smooth and (website hidden) was so helpful and enthusiastic; I immediately felt comfortable asking her questions and appreciated her thoroughness in answering them.
The listing description and photos accurately presented the property-- it was spacious, in a quiet neighborhood, and had everything we needed. I was most impressed by the thought put into every detail of the house; it made every moment spent there enjoyable. It's obvious Io's invested a lot of time and love into the property.
We have a ten month old baby, and because Io has a small child, she understands how difficult it can be traveling with a baby. When we arrived, she'd set up an actual crib, changing table, diaper genie, high chair, jumperoo, toys, and books. My daughter was thrilled and was able to smoothly transition.
Our treat was the home theater- it seriously was like watching a movie at the theater. Another thing I loved about the house were the yards. On sunny mornings, my mom and I stretched in the front yard enjoying the privacy allowed by the wall of foliage. In the afternoons, my daughter would crawl around on the grass and gaze up at the palm trees. The yards are landscaped beautifully and have the feel of a secret garden. It was lovely.
The neighborhood is away from the chaos of downtown but close enough to get there within 15 minutes by car. It was great for us because we had a lot of family events that we could get to easily since the freeway was close by. When we stayed in Atwater, we took a lot of nice walks, visited Griffith Park, had the BEST pupusas at a local mexican/salvadorean eatery on Fletcher, and a great breakfast at the village bakery.
Although the house is spacious, it feels cozy and warm. We cooked several meals in the kitchen that boasts state of the art appliances and le crueset cookware. The beds were super comfortable, and there's plenty of room for four+ people. My 93 year old grandmother who hates sleeping anywhere else besides her own bed, stayed there the first two nights and said she hadn't slept that well in a long time. The first night she slept 8 hours straight without once getting up to go to the bathroom. She was very surprised and quite pleased.
I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a comfortable stay in LA!
Io was such a wonderful host. The communication right from the beginning was great. She answered all of our questions quickly and supplied more than enough information about the rental and the area. She was so accommodating to me and my friends, she made us feel right at home. She told us about hot spots in the neighborhood, made sure we all had a place to sleep, getting an extra mattress and everything! We would stay at Io's place anytime we are in LA. It was such a great experience and the house is an amazing space to stay in.
This was a great place to stay and Io was a fantastic host. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip. There is plenty of space and all the comforts of home. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed to prepre our meals. We highly recommend.
Thank you Io for making our stay so pleasant!
