  • When arrived to the farm it was during a heavy down pour and the weather was a bit colder than we had expected -- but Mauro and Francesca hospitality lifted our spirits and warmed our souls immediately! We were greeted with a scrumptious plate of charcuterie and cheese along with a delicious carafe of red wine. The pasta couldn't have been more fresh and he distils his own Grappa that cannont be missed.

The landscape is beautiful and even though we did not get to make use of the salt-water pool, we did take advantage of the sauna….highly-recommended! Mauro also has two adorable dogs including a fluffy sheep dog that watched over us and slept right outside our door.

Mauro and Francesca were the best possible hosts from start to finish.

  • Our experience was absolutely wonderful! We stayed in the middle of winter and the place was really lovely. We took a drive to the Ferrari Museum one day and then went up to Venice the next.

    It was the perfect base!

Our hosts were wonderful and Maruo had excellent english so we had a lot of fun talking together.

He has just opened his new restaurant so we celebrated my husbands birthday there and it was truly a great night.

If we are lucky enough to come back to Italy one day we will definitely return.

    thanks so much!

  • This stay was absolutely perfect! We didn't meet Mauro but Andrea was an extremely obliging host and made us very welcome, right from the start and made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. The flat is absolutely stunning in an even more stunning location. We made friends with the locals and the butcher even gave us a free bottle of wine :) We bused into Florence twice and used our other days to explore the surrounding area. If you are looking for a real experience of Tuscany we couldn't recommend highly enough staying here. On our final night, Andrea and her son invited us into their home to share in their Halloween celebrations. We had an amazing meal and made some great friends! Hope to have the pleasure of staying here again. THANK YOU both, Tim and Kate.

  • Mauro's place... What can I say? We had a fantastic time! The place was clean, enough amenities for a family of 6 with children ranging from 14 to almost 2 and comfy cozy. We loved the structural beams in the bedrooms. His property..we had the best time hiking. The scenery was breathtaking and the air so clean, well worth the price of muddy shoes. The kids enjoyed the swing (you need to make more swings Mauro, 1 is not enough!), the large trampoline, the cats, dogs, cows, goats and horse. Their enjoyed climbing trees and just running around. The weather did not permit us to use the pool and i expected more complaints from the children about that but they were happy doing other things. My husband was content with coffee and his cigar outside and he absolutely enjoyed the challenge of the fireplace and keeping it going. Mauro's is quite accesible to the cities and you can use it as a base for day trips. But the experience of a small italian village, its people and lifestyle.. Thats what you get here. The people were lovely. Our italian is limited at best but we got around with smiles and gestures. The shop where we did our groceries is only open at certain times so be sure to check its timings. But the people there were great. It was a wonderful back to nature experience which we thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to everyone. We hope to go back again one day..Mauro and Francesca are opening their own restaurant.. We wish them all the luck in the world and a great big Thank You!

  • We had one of the most incredible vacations ever at Mauro's beautiful agriturismo. It was a perfect get-away and a visit we will not soon forget. First, the location is stunning. The apartment is perched on a hill overlooking the Italian countryside. It is centrally located and within an hour of major cities and tourist sites but also within minutes of breathtaking views and charming villages. There are many hiking trails that lead out from the house and into a forest with a bubbling stream, the ruins of old farm houses and even a mill where one can find the old tenants tools and equipment. The house is a perfectly cozy and quaint converted farm house that still has the old wooden beams, stairs and bricks but also many modern conveniences that make the house a delightful place to stay. The town of San Benedetto is a charming town (and we were fortunate enough to be able to visit their Truffle Festival which was loads of fun). Finally, Mauro is a lovely host who was generous in countless ways. We had everything we could possible need for our family (including 3 young children) and would happily recommend Mauro and his agriturismo to anyone interested in experiencing Italy in a remarkable way.

  • Me and my friends had a few days in the house of Maurо.
The small town of San Benedetto Val di Sambro is very picturesque, the place is beautiful, the air is clean and the renovated stone house is in the authentic style of this region of Italy.
Mauro was very hospitable and gracious host, moreover good in the kitchen and prepare us delicious dinner with natural products from its own farm. Salads, goat cheese with honey, and the lasagna, which he cooked, were wonderful.
I recommend it to all who want to experience the true spirit of Italy

  • The apartment was extremely clean and cosy. Mauro´s son was really helpful and nice with us.

    A place to recommend!

  • My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. In fact I think this area would've been better than staying right in Florence. Great accommodation especially if you have a car. Mauro's son was there to welcome us and was helpful and friendly. Definitely would stay here again if we ever came back to Florence. Really nice and comfortable set up. Many thanks!

  • Mauro and his wife were the perfect hosts. My family, including 3 kids, absolutely loved the farm stay. We wish we could have stayed longer. Loved the cooking lessons and eating the pizza and pasta. Loved the whole atmosphere. Looking forward to staying there again one day!
