The Hawthorne / Bella Vista neighborhood is teeming with delicious restaurants and bars, the famous 9th street Italian Market, and is a quick walk to the birthplace(s) of the Philadelphia Cheesteak.
The neighborhood is also home to East Passyunk Avenue - which made it onto Food and Wine Magazine's "Best Foodie Streets in America" list.
The neighborhood also includes numerous pocket parks and green spaces, and is just a few blocks away from South Street, Center City, and Old City where you can find lively night life, incredible shopping, and many of America's historic landmarks and museums.
The easy to use Subway system is only 3 blocks from the home. Additionally, there are numerous bus lines that virtually run past your doorstep. Hailing a taxi or grabbing an Uber car is extremely simple as well.

Phil and Kelsey's Trinity House was charming! We were comfortable and found it very interesting. It is on several levels, with the bedroom on the top level, the bathroom and extra bedroom on the next level and the kitchen and living room on the entry level. The row house is one room wide and the narrow spiral stairs are very old wood - worn by families over the years, but smooth and covered in varnish. Everything was clean, well organized and easy to use. We would be happy to stay there again.
Kelsey's and Phil's house met all our expectations: cosy, private, not far from the Old City. The hosts were kind to get the house ready earlier than stated, which we really appreciate.
If you like older homes with TONS of character this is the place to stay. Phil and Kelsey keep the place exceptionally clean and the notebook they prepared with important information was very helpful. I felt safe walking around the neighborhood and really enjoyed the Philly culture. The house is less than a 2 mile walking distance of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.
We loved our stay at Phil and Kelsey's! The check-in was easy and, although the neighborhood seems a little rough, the people are extremely friendly... plus, it's so close to everything else by walking! The apartment was charming and I personally enjoyed that their book collection was varied. The chromecast was really great for winding down, too. Thanks, Phil and Kelsey! We appreciate the clean towels! We definitely would stay again.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The home is incredibly charming and exceeded my expectations. It is conveniently located in walking distance to all of the city's attractions. Phil and Kelsey were quick to respond to any questions I had. I would highly recommend this place and hope to visit again someday.
While we never met our hosts in person, we had an easy check in and check out. The place is very cute and is a nice neighborhood in South Philly. A few minutes from all the fun of South street and a few more minutes to downtown. Affordable and cute accommodations. Would recommend!
