''Dingle -once cited as 'the most beautiful place on earth' by the National Geographic;( was voted among the top 18 destinations in the world by Trip Advisor andTop 9 in Europe in 2009) CNN recently recommended it as a very favourable winter destination; it is listed as one of the top 10 places to be on New Year's Eve - all of these accolades refer to County Kerry's stunningly beautiful Dingle (website hidden) and farming have long been the major industries, but tourism has become an increasingly important business in the town, particularly since the filming of "Ryan's Daughter" in the area in 1969.
(email hidden) and fishing port, Dingle has long been well supplied with pubs; in recent years the number has hovered around 52, and the variety is almost as great as the number. There are large, modern pubs and pubs so small that five's a crowd; one that sells wellingtons and leather belts, another that sells sheets and blankets, and another that sells everything from beds and bicycles to creosote and fertiliser. Much of the social life of the town revolves around the pubs: during the winter there are card games and quizzes. In the summer pool tables are removed to leave more room for tourist customers, and Irish music is played almost every night in about ten pubs.

Before the Age of Discovery, Europeans believed Dingle Peninsula—the most westerly point in Europe—to be the edge of the known world. The area has the greatest concentration of ancient monuments in Ireland, and stunning scenery to boot. The 25-mile drive around the coast is packed with ancient sites, walking trails, museums, and photo ops.
There are standing stones, beehive huts, the sixth-century Riasc monastic settlement, a promontory fort topped with an ogham stone, and views of the Blasket Islands from Slea Head. The Blasket Centre explains the islands’ way of life and literary legacy. Gallarus Oratory is a fine example of dry-stone masonry; it’s shaped somewhat like an upside-down boat and is in near perfect condition some 1,300 years after (email hidden), you’re guaranteed a spot in heaven if you climb through the narrow window three times, according to local folklore.
Dingle town is bustling with an aquarium, seal sanctuary, boat trips to the Blaskets, and art galleries. It offers excellent seafood restaurants and traditional music sessions in the pubs, too.
A Bus from the Tralee and Killarney 3- 5 times a day.
We had a great stay at Judy's house for one week. Our room was nice with a great view on the countryside. We felt very comfortable, like at home. The walk to Dingle was sometimes a bit stresful because we didn't have a car but it was okay. The town itself is very nice with many shops and the people are all really friendly.
We stayed at Judy's for 2 nights. Our room was large and we had ample space and a hair dryer was provided. We loved the shower and the bathroom was big. She drove us to town to drop off our laundry and then to a tour so we wouldn't have to park downtown. The walk to town seemed a bit further than 15 minutes but we
Made it. FYI dingle does not have cabs.
Friendly family home in easy walking distance from town, nice and clean bedroom, comfy kitchen and very nice and hospitable family. Judy gave us lots of advice of what to do and where to go and was fun to have a chat with. We had nothing to worry about and were happy that everything was easygoing and relaxed. Judy took care that we´ll always had something in the fridge for a good breakfast and we very much appreciated the self-catering opportunity – a very big plus point compared to hotels! Overall we really felt comfortable and welcome. We can positivley recommend staying at Judys to everyone who enjoys a comfy family home.
We had a very enjoyable stay in Dingle with Judy. Her home is conveniently located close to Dingle town centre and is well equipped and very comfortable. Thanks to Judy for her warm hospitality and for sharing her local knowledge and helpful travel advice. We would highly recommend staying with Judy for a visit to Dingle.
My stay in Dingle was lovely and the accommodations were flavorful. The en suite room was clean and comfortable, however the house was messy and there were small children running about, starting very early in the morning. Also, the walk into Dingle town was further than advertised and extremely dark @ night. I would definitely advise bringing a flashlight!
Judy is charming and helpful and she has a sweet family, but if you're looking for a quiet stay, this would not be the place!
Judy made us feel like part of the family.
Judy (email hidden) and was also there for me when I fell ill! The room was nice and we could also cook in the kitchen, that was great. The walk into town was maybe a bit more than 15 min (and we are fast walkers) but that didn't disturb much.
Thanks a lot Judy!
Judy (email hidden). Her home was beautiful, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The walk in and out of Dingle was fine and not too much trouble either. The town itself was lovely and even though the weather wasn't great, we had a great time. We would highly recommend Judy's accommodation. Thanks again Judy and Maeve :)
Judy (email hidden)! The location was also good, really nice view from the window!!
