A nice room in a great location.

House - Private room · Correa Street, O'Connor, ACT 2602, Australia

Great location. Inner north. Established suburb. Lots of green leafy trees. Handy to buses, supermarket. Lovely modern 'Melbourne-esq' cafe bar called The Front which often has great live music. There's also a large unique & popular restaurant/bar called Tilleys. Both these places are very close to me.

The Space

Bed is only a double bed, but it is very comfortable. Medium-sized light room. Wifi. Quiet house & location. But house close to many facilities also.

Guest Access

Guest has own keys. No curfew. Just quiet consideration for host.

Interaction with Guests

I give my guests space to come & go as they please. And privacy. I see them every so often to see that everything is ok. A chat if they wish too.

The Neighborhood

It is a relaxed popular social neighbourhood suburb with great meeting places very close by. Supermarket. Good take-away including Pide Pizza place. Good Chinese Restaurant too! And two great cafe bars - They also lovely food for breakfast, lunch & dinner! But my house itself is in a quiet street. Best of both worlds. The area or suburb is however not busy & loud like a big city. It is still a small but modern city. A fantastic shopping mall as well called - The Canberra Centre - in the City - if you want that :)

Getting around

Convenient & easy bus services. Walking is also an option to nearby suburbs & so too are short taxi rides to places in the city or university.

Other Things to Note

Most people do love the location. And quiet area where the house/their private room is. You can obtain a bike to hire at a nearby suburb/s (O'Connor or Dickson Shops) to get around if you wish as the location is quite close to most things you may wish to get to in the city/civic, uni, inner north areas. Close to buses. (City buses are at the Bus Interchange) Inner Southside is also not far. Across a beautiful lake :)

  • The house is conveniently located in North Canberra; close to shops, good eating establishments and public transport. Sindhu is a very welcoming host. We had a very busy schedule so unfortunately did not get to enjoy Sindhu's company much. The bed was very comfortable and it was a pleasure to wake up to the sound of birds and nature. Even though the house is on the corner of two streets traffic noise was not a problem.

  • Quiet room, good bed, heater was handy, since weather changed over the month.Comfortable older house, didn't use kitchen much, only came and went to bedroom..Bus stop right outside door to city,Woden.Buy a Mycard swipe card for half fare iif pay by cash,a hint..IGA around the corner.Hardly saw Sinhu,as left early and came as she had retired..No early buses on weekend though..taxis a must then..like staying in an aunties place,comfortable....not modern, but functional enough...thank you for sharing...

  • Accommodation was as expected for rate. Fee was quite reasonable, and the host was most pleasant and welcoming.
I enjoyed the chats we had. The room and bed were both comfortable and appropriately appointed. My privacy was respected.
I had free use of the house which was more than I would have expected.

  • Sindhu's place is in a very convenient location - close to the city and with a couple of reasonable eating places just over the road. On the plus side, the house (what I saw of it) was clean, the bed very comfortable and even though the bathroom is basic, the shower was very good. Overall, it's a place where you get what you pay for.
On the negatives, I missed Sindhu's emails telling me where the keys would be on arrival. Found out later they were sent 2 hours before I said I would arrive - not enough forewarning when it was a 3 1/2 hour drive from my place. Sindhu is very friendly but is hardly ever there. Not a problem for me but it did make the place feel very empty. There is a microwave and stove with grill and oven but no saucepans and no one around to ask where they (or the wifi) were.

  • Had a great time at Sindu's place. She was very kind and welcoming. Her house is situated in a friendly neighborhood that has some nice cafes.

  • Sindhu is a really nice and easy-going host. Both of us were out a lot so we didn't have a lot of interaction but Sindhu made it a point to look for me to welcome me and have a chat. She is a really interesting person and I'm sorry I didn't have the time and opportunity to talk more with her. Her place is in a nice and quiet residential area and is easy enough to get to the city but you have to plan your travels carefully as the buses are not as frequent especially during the weekends. All in all, a cheap and pleasant stay!

I am a pretty easy going person. I like meeting new people & conversation. But I also like care and consideration for others equally. Sometimes I am quite outgoing. Sometimes I like to be quietly on my own for work, study, rest & reflection. Being a yoga person these things come quite easily and naturally for me. I am therefore for the most part, quite happily self-sufficient. I enjoy my own company. My own food, music. Particularly YouTube these days :). I like to be kind to others. And helpful too, But not overly :). Again. We all need space to be ourselves. Important. I am studying Art dist ed presently part-time & teach yoga p/t too. I love yoga. I enjoy my life. Love having fun with like-minded people who are also into music, life, yoga & art. And not necessarily in that order! See you soon at mine or elsewhere :)
