I had such a great time staying with Gemma and Jemal in Valencia. They are warm and welcoming hosts, they made me feel right at home and very comfortable. They even took me on a picnic and included me in a wonderful Moroccan feast one night! so delicious. I would definitely stay with them again. thanks for a wonderful stay.
Gemma and Jamal are great - very friendly and hospitable! The place is cozy and in a perfect location. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to see. Whether you are in Valencia for only one night (like us) or need a place for a longer stay, I can highly recommend to contact Gemma and Jamal!
It was super! Gemma and Jamal are the best hosts!
We spend 4 night with my girlfriend in Gemma's house - and everything were PERFECT!
Very nice and beautiful flat, where was very comfortable, and clean. And of course the hosts - both of them were helpful, friendly and attentiveю
Thnk you so much for your hospitality!
Really hope to see you again!
Gemma and Jamal are simpele lovely hosts. When we arrived in the evening, tired of the journey, Jamal cooked up a delicious spanish omelet. They provided us with great tips and must sees. We had a great time, great meals and good conversations with them. We felt very welcome and at home. I reccomend staying here and enjoying their warmth!
Fui muito bem recebida por Gemma e Jamal.
Apto muito bem localizado,próximo ao centro histórico e perto das principais linhas de ônibus.
Quarto bem arejado, e limpo , inclusive o banheiro compartilhado.
Contratei por 4 dias e acabei ficando 7 dias.
Recomendo e se voltar a Valencia ,me hospedarei com eles novamente!
Gemma and Jamal were awesome hosts in Valencia. Their apartment is in a great location, just a 10 minute walk to the trendy student area of Benimaclet, and a 10 minute walk to El Carmen, the old city center. I liked how it felt like we were living in a real Spanish neighborhood, and not among the tourist hullabaloo of the center--but still close enough that you could easily go out there at night. Our hosts we really accommodating, and cooked some delicious Spanish and Moroccan cuisine. The rooms and bathroom were clean and tidy. They were also really knowledgable about the area and answered all of our questions. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the homestay experience--it was like visiting your Spanish cousin and feeling really welcome and relaxed throughout the trip. Thanks, guys!
The place is very central, Gemma and Jemal are very friendly, nice people to share experience and life.
Ready to discover Valencia and the world...you will at their table chatting eating from tapas to some other delicatessen from all the world.
I had the honour also to meet some of their friends and we went to a trip just outside Valencia!!
Gemma and Jemal really made us feel at home, inviting us out with their friends, cooking for us, and spending time with us. This is optimally what staying at a shared apartment, rather than a hotel or a hostel, should be. Gemma and her entire family are from Valencia, so she is a great source of information, plus she speaks great English. And most importantly, she and her live-in boyfriend, Jemal, are very nice people.
The location is excellent: less than 5 minutes walk from the historic center, near the Plaza de la Virgen (opposite end than the train station,) and right near the Art Museum and the Turia Park.
The downsides: there is one shared bathroom, but it worked out fine even though there was another couple staying, i.e. there were 6 people; the walls of the apartment building are thin, so although the neighborhood is quiet (except during Fallas) and the apartment does not face the road, it can get a bit loud with the TV on, people us late talking, etc. The apartment is neat and reasonably clean, but not hyper-spic and span. The only thing we were unsatisfied with was that the six days we were there, we had internet access only sporadically, with a weak signal for a minute up to half an hour at a time, and rarely. Since we needed it for work, we had to go down to a café every day and sit there eating and drinking. They say that there is normally internet access, but if it's a big issue with you, you may want to check with Gemma and make sure the problem is fixed.
Another plus was that even though we were there at the busiest time of year, they saved us a free parking space just outside their building, when we let them know in advance that we were driving there. Also, we were welcomed to do our laundry in their machine, which was a convenient plus.
