ENGLISH: IDEAL for a visiting scholar or professor at the Universidad de Guanajuato!! Lovely room with private bath, on sunny central patio in private home. Kitchen privileges. Various sunny terraces with panoramic views of the beautiful City of Guanajuato. The only off-limits part of the house is the music room which is my workspace.
The room is ample and has a double bed; as well as a desk at which many people have found creative inspiration, from writing to painting! In spite of our proximity to the heart of the city, there is a certain tranquillity here which is very propicious to work.
Eight minutes' walk from the Jardín de la Unión and the Juárez, Principal, and Cervantes Theatres; as well as from the University. Easy access in taxi, microbús and on foot. There is also a private acceso down from the Panorámica.
This is a "people's" not a "rich-folks" neighborhood in an Ibero-american city, so you will hear roosters and the occasional goat; but it is all quite agreeable.
Please note that to arrive here one must walk: either one walks up or one walks down, but walk one must. Guanajuato was not built with the automobile in mind ;=))
Nevertheless, should you need to bring a car, with a little advance notice my neighbour just above on the Panorámica usually has an extra parking space: cost is 150 pesos / night. Public parking lots charge between 12 and 15 pesos per hour. (I do not recommend "free" parking in a tunnel: it may well cost you the repair of your windshield.) If you arrive in a car, you will probably park it and forget about it until you leave: this city is far easier to navigate walking, in public transit, or if necessary in a taxi.
As of 1 January I am raising my prices for the first time since I started hosting on AIRBNB, mostly because I want to be able to better pay the woman who helps me with housework. People who do this work tend to be very underpaid here, and I would like to do my part to remedy that situation.

Both Casa del Pozo and Ana Cervantes are warm, welcoming and charming. If you don't mind walking up a callejón of steps, (it's Guanajuato!) I definitly recommend Casa del Pozo. It's lovely, comfortable, and you'll be in great company.
Felicidades!
I loved my very very short stay in Ana's beautiful house! The room was homely and welcoming and Ana is a great host and couldn't have been more helpful with maps and recommendations. I even got to overhear some of her wonderful piano playing. I am going to bring my mum to Ana's when she comes to visit.
I stayed at Ana's place during Cervantino, October 2013. The patio room w/ shower/bathroom was clean comfortable and full of arty Mexican folkloric character. Also, it was stocked with great little books and helpful materials to get you acquainted if you've never visited Guanajuato.
Location is great: central, but a little removed. Her place is perched up on the hill on what I non-authoritatively consider "the 2nd ring up" from centro.. and like most places in Gto that are not in the lower lying area, it's a bit of a hike to get to. However, it's really only about a 7 min walk or so from el Jardin/Teatro Juarez, and only a minute of steeper climbing - but if you're dealing with bad knees or have trouble navigating and climbing up stone steps and narrow winding, walkways at night, I might consider a more expensive place down below.
But, if you do that, you trade off a classic view, more bucolic sounds, and the opportunity to experience a cool little home in Guanajuato, which includes the chance to meet other travellers, use a kitchen, meet her dogs, and again, chill up on the veranda and take in the views. Ana was available, friendly. Recommended.
I wish I could put my amazing experience which staying with Ana into Chinese! That would be the REALLY best way that I can express my grearful thanks.
Just share the key points here: 1, perfect location ; 2, AMAZING house; 3, very kind and thoughtful host which can totally get into any tourist's mind; 4, adorable dogs and almost invisible but very beatiful cat; 5, clean and tidy rooms.
Anyway, strongly recommend!
Ana was wonderful in her communication and responded quickly when I wanted to book the room. As the time of the trip approached, she sent me a document explaining everything I needed to know about the house and the visit. Once in Guanajuato, she was extremely gracious in letting us check-in early and was more than helpful when it came to explaining the city, where to eat and what to do. The house is beautiful and extremely well located, and the room was warm, spacious and very, very comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer and will for sure return and book with Ana again. I recommend it 100%
My stay was absolutely wonderful at Ana's place in Guanajuato. The location is simply amazing with a short 5 minute walk to all the main attractions in the city. The view is phenomenal : you won't find a hotel in the city with this kind of view of the entire city. Ana's place exceeded my expectations with her beautiful room/rooftop patio/kitchen/ dogs & cat/ and her own down to earth personality. I would definitely return.
Ana was very welcoming, and instead of just putting a map in my hands, she walked me down to the Centro and pointed things out along the way and gave wonderful suggestions. It was like being with a friend. We parted ways and I discovered the rest of Guanajuato on my own. But I was armed with great info about places to eat that she personally frequents. Also a recommendation for a concert which was something I actually "needed" to restore the soul.
I had the pleasure of meeting Azabacha and Estrella (the dogs) and Zumo the cat... I'm in heaven whenever such creatures are around.
Alas, I have not been fortunate enough to hear Ana play the piano: this fact and Guanajuato itself are reasons for my wishing to come back.
The walk from the home to the center is not far, and down hill is not a problem, but up hill can be a bit of a challenge as it is steep: not ideal for a quick siesta in between roundabouts in the city.
But the views from the house are so incredible and worthwhile.
Also, I appreciate her environmental and ecological efforts that she puts into practice in her home: I felt like I was doing something good too.
