Tauranga is the main centre (pop.120,000) of the aptly named Bay of Plenty on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. We have an abundance of beautiful beaches, walks, cycle tracks and shopping. We are 10 minutes to the centre of Tauranga City and 6 minutes to Greerton shopping centre and 15 minutes to the airport.
Our home is located in "The Lakes", a recently developed area built around picturesque man made lakes and offers cycle and walking tracks - a mere 50m from our house.
The Lakes is 50 minutes by direct route to Rotorua, a geothermal region with an International Airport.
We are 15 mins to the beautiful McLaren Falls Park, 190 hectares of pastoral and horticultural parkland set alongside Lake McLaren. The park is popular for camping, fishing, kayaking, wedding photos, picnics, bush walks and summertime concerts. It is also home to one of the best botanical collections of trees in the North Island.
One of the highlights of the park is the Waterfall Track where you can see glow worms after dusk.
Where possible we can do a pick up and drop off for $10 each way to the Airport, town, Mount Maunganui or Bayfair Shopping Centre.
We have several off street parking spaces.
There is a public transport bus service from The Lakes to Tauranga City, but you do need your own transport for ease of travel.

No Smoking on the property thank you!
We were warmly welcomed by Denise and Mike, and their very socialable cat, Basil. The bedroom and ensuite were beautifully clean and provided everything we needed, and more. Tea and coffee facilities were in the room and we were invited to sit in the sunshine on the deck. The room is very private and had it's own external access. As Peter had to leave early breakfast supplies were left in the fridge for him to self serve and I enjoyed a very healthy breakfast served in the sunshine.
Pyes Pa is a little distance from town so a vehicle is required. We would happily stay again and recommend others the opportunity to stay with friendly hosts, in a lovely environment.
Perfect. A beautiful house in a beautiful location with beautiful hosts. Denise provided an excellent breakfast on sun deck. Basil the cat was very affectionate.
What a wonderful place with lovely hosts. Denise and Mike went that extra mile to make our stay special, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and private just as advertised. Thank you so much for making our holiday special, we would definitely stay again.
Denise was very welcoming and charming lady. The place is really as described - a separate unit which is part of the main house, with an ensuite. So if you like your privacy, this is the place for you. It is also very modern and has everything you may need for your stay.
Denise will cook your breakfast which you can have alfresco in her lovely garden.
We recommend this place to everyone.
Denise and her husband were wonderful hosts. They were very accommodating to our late arrival and early departure. Denise fixed up a lovely breakfast for us to self serve since we were leaving in the early hours. They also helped us with directions to our next destination. The room was very comfortable and we slept beautifully. It was a shame we were not able to stay to fully appreciate the ambience in the daylight. It was a bit tricky finding the address in the dark but just remember to bring the hosts phone number with you and Denise will sort you out.
Denise and Mike are very welcoming people and we felt at home straight away. It's a perfect little place with a comfy bed and the homemade muesli was delicious. We arrived as strangers and left as freinds :) We will definitley be back if everthing pans out the way we hope it will!
Denise has now semi-retired after a long career in the recruitment industry where she co-owned an Auckland recruitment company for many years. She and her husband Mike (IT Engineer) share a passion for travel, entertaining friends, animals, gardening, cycling and love a nice meal washed down with a good white wine! They both enjoy movies and especially love French films. They don't let the grass grow under their feet and love to travel anywhere when they can. A cycling trip in Burgundy, France and a week in a villa in Tuscany is organised for 2015. Denise also plans to connect with her Yorkshire heritage in the UK. In her spare time Denise is a painter with a love of abstract and expressionism art. They have recently made their home in Tauranga and are enjoying the positive buzz and energy Tauranga offers along with a glorious sunny climate. They love the company of people with broad interests and would make your stay a positive and fun experience. Denise and Mike owned and managed 2 holiday houses for 10 years in Kerikeri and Matarangi whilst they juggled full time jobs so are an active and flexible team.
