The Space

Welcome to my little studio, which - despite it's relatively small size - has all you need: a double bed, a bathroom with a tiny bath, a well equipped kitchen, a dining table and a sofa to relax on.

Facilities:
- Bed linen and towels
- Washing machine
- Hair dryer
- TV
- Internet acces (WIFI)
- Microwave
- Refrigator
- Toaster
- Kettle

The apartment is situated in Buda, literally 5 minutes away from the Margaret island, Szell Kalman square or Nyugati square (Westend). Also very close to the Parliament, Opera House, St. Stephen's Basilica, Buda Castle, Liszt Ferenc square, Mammut shopping mall. Nearby you will find many banks, ATMs, a post office, 24/7 supermarket, pharmacy, pubs.

You can always find parking spot near my flat, however I do recommend to use public transport in Budapest. The tram Nr. 4-6 (runs 24/7) or the Blue metro line are just few minutes walking distance. The two main train stations (Deli pu and Nyugati pu) are 20 mins, the HEV (which goes to Szentendre) is only 5 mins away.

My personal favourite restaurants are also just around the corner: Deryne (towards Szell Kalman square direction), Menza (towards Oktogon), Andante Winebar (by walk), but you can find a lot of small restaurants around Jaszai Mari ter (2 stops with tram 4-6 towards Pest) with excellent local food.

If you are in Budapest, don’t miss to check out A38 Ship (which (email hidden)/restaurant and it has been nominated as the best bar in the world 2011 by Lonelyplanet), Oscar Bar (2 stops with tram 4-6 towards Szell Kalman square), Innio (near Basilica), Divino Winebar and of course, the famous ruin-pubs in Pest, such as: Szimpla, Kuplung, Instant, etc.

  • I spent a long weekend in Budapest as the guest of Barbara. The apartment was very well located near the Elisabeth bridge so you can easily take a tram to the center or just walk. There's also a nice cafe/bar around the corner for breakfast. The apartment was very clean and well-equipped. I stayed on my own but it easily caters for 2 or 3 people. Special thanks goes to Barbara's cousin Andras for giving me a warm welcome and being very flexible with all the practical arrangements in terms of my arrival and departure.

I've stayed in numerous apartments and hostels but I can honesty recommend to stay at Barbara's - it's a great value for a money and good base for a great stay in that marvelous city!

  • Our experience in Budapest was amazing, in many cases because of the flat we stayed in! This tiny and very cosy apartment is ideal for several days and for 2 guests.
Situated in the very heart of Buda area, the location is perfect either for day walks or for night outs!
Everything worked properly, wifi connection was fast and without shortcuts. So, I would like to say thanks to Barbara and her brother for giving such an opportunity to explore the city without spending a fortune on accommodation! Hopefully there will be more grateful tourists!!

  • András, friend of Barbara, meet us in this place. He was a friendly guy and wait us despite of our delay. We received the keys and some recommendations about the (website hidden) looks like the same as in the photos. Very cozy, clean and nice. It was little bit noisy outside, because its the first floor and situated near the building entrance, but it doesn't cause much inconvenience for us. Location is quite convenient — close to Magret Island, Budapest Parliament. On the way there is a nice cafe Bookta, you should visit this and try their Caesar salad.

  • My daughter and me had a wonderful time in Budapest. We were made to feel welcomed. Andras cousin of Barbara met us in the flat and explained everything we needed to know about the flat to us and gave us a few good information about the city. He was very friendly. The flat was clean, sweet, in good condition and very good located. Thank you!

  • The stay at Barbara's was very very nice. The apartment is just as it looks like on the pictures. It was very clean and cosy. Her cousin, who is in charge on apartment at the moment, is very nice and was willing to help us out at any time. Thank you for that!! The apartment is close to the tram stop. Walking to the city center takes a bit but there is also another bus stop that is very close to the apartment and goes directly to the city center. I can recommend her flat to anyone!

  • The apartment was ideal for us, as a couple on a short break- really conveniently located on the Buda side of the river, almost everything is accessible by foot (the Danube is about 5 mins walk and two Turkish baths are 10 minutes walking distance and the centre is about 20 minutes walk).

The apartment looks exactly like the pictures- communication was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

About
Budapest - I'm very passionate about my city, where I lived nearly 22 years. I like traveling, photography, arts, interior design; and I'm very lucky that I could mix all these hobbies of mine in one project: namely my little flat in the heart of the capital of Hungary. My life motto, which is also engraved in my ring: You can get it if you really want.
