The Space

This is a well-connected, designer factory loft with all of your most-coveted modern comforts and amenities.

ENJOY ARTS AND CULTURE:
The apartment is located in the artistic neighborhood of East Williamsburg / Bushwick. This is a safe community known for its booming creative culture. There are many artist studios and art galleries here. We have a wonderful natural market (open 24hrs), and also 2 larger general grocery stores, coffee shop, and literally dozens of excellent bars and restaurants all within immediate walking distance. I'll give you a list of my favorites.

The loft is a three minute walk from the L train which runs 24 hrs a day. Access many of the most desirable areas for sightseeing in Manhattan even without connecting to a second train, i.e. The Villages, Lower East Side, Chelsea, Nolita, Alphabet City, and more...

INSIDE THE L:
The space fits six adults comfortably with plenty of living space to share. We have two private bedrooms, and the large, open living room has a third platform, queen-sized bed. Use it for lounging or a sleep space.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Stephanie's flat! She had many advices and information to give us on the district. The area is great, quiet and full of artistic energies!
The flat was nice, much light and enough space for all 5. Thanks to that experience, we love New York and already think to come back ;) I strongly recommend Stephanie for her availibity and kindness.

  • Great place, great neighborhood, great host.
This loft apartment is very well located, clean and fully functional. Bushwick is a perfect area to meet real Brooklynites or to enjoy night life.
And it's not minor annoyances like trucks unloading one early morning nor the few neighbors walking on the wood floor that can prevent us to return.

    Dear Stephanie,
Too bad our schedules didn't match better but your sound advice about restaurants and places has been really helpful. My folks and I enjoyed our stay. My special thought goes to the Jay Mark Johnson's picture in the living-room.

  • I was looking for the perfect place for 6 of us (3 couples) to stay in Brooklyn and saw the photos for The L. The price was right and the photos were appealing. When I contacted Steff she responded in a quick courteous manner. This was our first air bnb experience and we couldn't be more happy. Steff is so easy to communicate with and is great host and is flexible. Her place has a nice design and layout and is in a great location. We loved all the graffiti art and the overall vibe in the area. Our only regret is that we didn't stay long enough so we are really looking forward to our next visit. Thanks again Steff!

  • We stayed for a week in both the L and L2 and both are simply awesome! Beautifully decorated places, comfortable and warm. The location is also great - not far from Manhattan and nice just to come a bit away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The place is quiet and safe and close to some great bars and restaurants, Bedford ave is like 3 train stops away and it is so great! Steff is a dream host, easy to communicate with and so so helpful. It is also insanely cheap for what it is, so if this place is available and you don't stay here, you are crazy! Thanks so much Steff!!

  • We stayed in the L2, which was delightful. Stephanie and James were super accommodating and friendly, and we loved the location. The L2 is a proper Brooklyn loft and you will love it too! It's huge and very homey at the same time.

  • This review is for L2. We rented The L but ended up in L2. Not a problem. They seemed similar. We were here for one night only. Everything was a breeze. We were very pleased with our stay.

Exactly what we expected as far as the neighborhood was concerned. There's not much going on within the first few blocks but it's not far from the action. Plenyt of street parking, we had 3 cars. The host was very friendly and the apartment is kept tidy, not too bare. No TV, one of my friends couldn't decide where to sit because of the lack of a television. It was funny.

We would definitely stay here again, if she lets us :-)

  • Stephanie's apartment is everything it says and shows, absolutely superb. It provided all we needed and there are some fun places round about. Stephanie and I did not meet but that was simply because of our hectic schedule that meant we were out most of the day and got back quite late. Despite this Steff made us feel at home and her home is very clean. I love the eclectic collection of books. The facilities were spot on. We'll come again and we will recommend your loft to our friends.

  • The L is an amazingly cool apartment in an amazingly cool part of town! It's spacious, clean, comfy and really well supplied in terms if towels and utensils. Bonus points for it being so close to some really retro bars, health good shops, restaurants - including Robertas famous pizza joint which is not far to walk to, plus it's really near the subway to get to Bedford Ave and Manhatten! We loved our stay!

  • Steff was an awesome host and very accommodating to our various time schedules. We were a group of 6 and there was plenty of space plus we have a great time overall at the apartment. It is a creative neighborhood with great food and lots of beautiful murals on the streets. The location is convenient as well, the L line is just a minute or 2 away with great cafes/bars/grocery stores around the block. Unfortunately, the weekend we were there, the L line was under construction and partially closed on those dates. I would still recommend staying with Steff! She is very friendly and makes you feel welcome in this artsy neighborhood.

About
My name is Stephanie. I am an artist, curator and interior designer. I have worked in the contemporary art field for six years (in Los Angeles and New York). I am completing graduate study at NYU. I was drawn in to the neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn for its creative vitality. Ours is a wonderful community of working artists, writers, musicians, designers, filmmakers, you name it! In addition, the converted factories hold some of the most unique living spaces anywhere in the world. I created The L and L2 in order to share this remarkable place and time in art history with others, by hosting visitors from the US and abroad and also by working with creative professionals who use the spaces for filming or photography. In return, I am able to learn about cultures and artistic practices other than my own, staying immersed in the joy of exchange. Thanks for checking out my spaces. I hope that we may cross paths one day!
