INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
I meet all of my guests when they first arrive. I give them a good introduction to the neighborhood with a iPad guided tour. I am an arts curator and my partner is a musician, so we usually have a line on some events and performances that visitors otherwise would never learn about. If guests' interests coincide, I may invite them out during their stay to various cultural arts activities.
From time to time, I may need to stop by the loft to perform maintenance or to pick up supplies for maintenance of another space. I will email/text my guests before I stop by to see what might be a convenient time to visit. They do not have to be there, but can be, if they wish.
In the case that a guest does not respond to communication attempts, after waiting a reasonable amount of time, I may choose to enter the loft without their permission. Although, I will always make every effort to preserve the privacy of my guests during their stay, the reservation agreement does not at any point override my right to enter the property at my discretion.

This was a great place to stay at and was very close to the L train. The location was great. There are some good restaurants within walking distance and great artwork to look at.
The communication with Stephanie was very good, she answerded always quickly. At our arrival, getting the keys for the apartment was a little difficult at the beginning, but finally we could make the check-in in time.
The apartment is very spacious, we had plenty of room for us five people. Actually it’s a fantastic apartment, even if some little renovations wouldn’t be a miss. The kitchen was very helpful for us, we cooked there several times for our family. Unfortunately the dishes were rather dirty, when we arrived in the apartment. But over all, the location is just great, with good food stores and tiny restaurants nearby, also the connection by the L-train to Manhattan is perfect. Also we always felt safe in the neighbourhood. We highly recommend this accomodation.
Stephanie and James were great hosts, extremely friendly and helpful! We loved the apartment which was clean and spacious, with soaring ceilings and giant windows. We also loved the neighborhood which had lots of cool bars and a rich array of beautiful street art. We would absolutely recommend it and would stay again!
Stephanie was really sweet and let us leave our bags, park the car, and grab the keys before it was our check-in time! She also provided recommendations to some great local eats. The place is really spacious and had some fantastic books and art. Would definitely stay again!
Elizabeth W. was a wonderful guest!!!! My prior review was for a completely different Elizabeth. Airbnb does not permit to delete reviews so I'dlike to submit this correction along with my sincerest apologies for the error. The other woman I had reviewed was very caustic indeed, and quite the polar opposite from this Elizabeth who was very thoughtful and kind. She deserves 5 stars!
Stephanie's apartment is spacious, light filled and very well located—the neighbourhood is safe and there are plenty of great places to eat and drink nearby, and it's just minutes to the L train.
The apartment itself is comfortable with plenty of room for 6 people or so. We did have a couple of issues with supplies—we had no toilet paper nor washing powder, both of which are apparently supposed to be provided but were overlooked by the housekeeper. Stephanie did compensate for this by allowing us to subtract the cost from the $80 cleaning fee, it was just a little inconvenient.
Stephanie was fairly communicable—unfortunately we left it a bit late to organise check in and check out so we couldn't check in til late and then were unable to leave our bags at the apartment after check out as she was having new guests arriving early that day.
Overall our stay was good, I'd just recommend an early discussion with Stephanie to assure the best accommodation.
Steff was a wonderful host. She made me feel welcome and helped me get oriented in the neighborhood. She had very helpful suggestions for where to eat and where to buy groceries.
The neighborhood was awesome!! And the loft had a real Bushwick/Brooklyn feel with lots of space and cool decor (I loved the high ceilings!). The air conditioner was a real plus also as it was pretty humid when we were there.

About the Host, Stephanie
My name is Stephanie. I am an artist, curator and interior designer. I have worked in the contemporary art field for six years (in Los Angeles and New York). I am completing graduate study at NYU.
I was drawn in to the neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn for its creative vitality. Ours is a wonderful community of working artists, writers, musicians, designers, filmmakers, you name it! In addition, the converted factories hold some of the most unique living spaces anywhere in the world.
I created The L and L2 in order to share this remarkable place and time in art history with others, by hosting visitors from the US and abroad and also by working with creative professionals who use the spaces for filming or photography. In return, I am able to learn about cultures and artistic practices other than my own, staying immersed in the joy of exchange.
Thanks for checking out my spaces. I hope that we may cross paths one day!
