Double room for rent in a spacious bungalow, situated right in the heart of the beautifully scenic fishing village of Ring (or An Rinn, as known locally).
This is a large double, with linen and towels provided. Room is plain but clean and comfortable. Heaps of storage space - wardrobes, shelves, etc.
I don't serve breakfast but guests have full access to the kitchen, with free herbs and spices, as well as free tea and coffee. Lots of storage space for food, etc. There's often free eggs too, from the free range hens next door.
Shared sitting room with TV and DVD player. I also have an extra living room (no TV at the moment) that's good for reading and relaxing.
Shared bathroom, with free use of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hair dryer.
Washing machine available for €2 per load. I don't have a dryer but there's plenty of space on the outdoor clothesline. If it's raining, I have a clotheshorse available for indoor drying.
Free unlimited wifi.
There is a large garden at the front of the house, with a smaller one at the back. Small charcoal BBQ free to use (you'll have to buy the charcoal).
Tons of off-road parking.
Interaction with Guests
This depends on the guest(s)! I will try my best to be here to meet and greet you, and am happy to give advice on what to see / do in the area. I may be working while you're here but we can socialise together in the evenings or if you'd rather do your own thing, that's fine too.
Please be aware that check-out is no later than 11am.
Ring (An Rinn) is an incredibly scenic coastal village, with stunning views across the water to Dungarvan and the Comeragh Mountains. There are 3 beaches within 15-20 mins walking distance of my home, a Spar shop 5 mins walk away with adjoining cafe / restaurant 'An Linn Bhuidhe' next door (serving great breakfasts and lunches until 3pm), a fantastic children's playground, a Post Office 15 mins walk away, and several good pubs. Ring is also home to the very popular 'Sólás na Mara' seaweed baths, healthcare centre and cafe (15 mins walk from my home).
Dungarvan town is 10 mins away by car, boasting great restaurants, supermarkets, a tourist office, a new SGC cinema, lively pubs, etc. There are three 18 round golf courses within a 15km radius.
This is a great base as well to explore the Comeragh Mountains, with many walking tracks about 40 mins away by car.
Ring is the only Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) area in Co. Waterford so the locals will be only too happy to speak "cúpla focal" (a few words of Irish) with you if you'd like to practise!
There is no public transport here so having your own car would be the best bet. Parking is no problem, I've lots of space.
A taxi from Dungarvan will cost 20-25 euro.
Other Things to Note
I don't have any pets.
Check in from 4pm onwards (this is sometimes flexible - let me know if you're arriving earlier and I'll try to accommodate you)
Check out no later than 11am please.
Please clean up after yourself.
Smoking outside only.
If you have any questions that I've failed to answer in my listing, don't hesitate to contact me.
i had a very good stay in An Rinn the room was clean and comfortable
the accommodation was basic as expected but very good value for money
Caoimhe is a very pleasant young lady and very helpful with advice about the area and where to eat when she tells you to go to the local cafe to eat listen its really good food
the area is very pleasant with lovely views and great countryside
i would recommend a visit and a stay at An Rinn in Caoimhe lovely home
Caoimhe was a great host. She's very friendly and made us feel like home. She told us about places to go, which we'd never had found by ourselves - and it was great there. When we come back to southern ireland, we'll definitely try to stay at her place again!
Caoimhe was an awesome host and her house was lovely! She stayed in contact with me and made it a priority to make sure I was taken care of. I took a taxi from dungarvan, and it only ended up being about €15. She has also done some traveling so she gave me a lot of advice and knew what I was experiencing. I only stayed one night, but the area that I was able to see was beautiful, and I wish I could have stayed longer!
Very much enjoyed our stay with Caoimhe (kweeva). Room was very spacious and comfortable. The house has an airy, country outlook close to the sea. We were able to use the laundry facilities, which we needed at the time. She made us feel right at home, and we had a very enjoyable talk during the evening about life and sport in Ireland and gave us very useful travel suggestions for the next day - just the same we felt we could have kept to ourselves if that was our preference. would definitely stay with her again.
I spent one night and everythinkg worked out perfectly. The house is as beautiful as the surrounding area, with a large and pleasant bedroom and everything we need in the house. Caoimhe also made the stay very easy and was very kind and helpful. Definitely recommend it!

Hi everyone! My name is Caoimhe (pronounced "Kweeva"!) and I'm lucky enough to live in a stunning area on the south / south-east coast of Ireland, known as Ring (or An Rinn). I recently returned home to Ireland after 2 years traveling abroad. I spent nearly a year and a half of that time living in New Zealand, which I absolutely loved.
By day I'm a teacher but when I have some down-time I enjoy horseriding, hiking, reading, catching up with friends, and of course traveling!
My personal style of traveling is to keep things simple and quite minimalist. I'm usually a backpacker so expensive hotels and lying on a beach all day is just not my thing. I usually stay in hostels as I find this is the best way to meet both fellow travelers and interesting locals. Bearing all this in mind, my listing would probably suit budget travelers who want a clean and comfortable place to stay but are not looking for a palace!
