What a lovely stay! Firstly the host Joe is a wonderful, welcoming host and such a fun character! We enjoyed talking with him and hearing his wonderful stories. We loved the fact that he had left a fresh loaf of wheaten bread for us and the most delicious home made berry jam, freshly squeezed orange juice and milk for our breakfast, so we didn't have to make a trip to the shops. Such a kind and helpful touch. Also he even gave us a jar of his home made plum chutney to take home because we told him how much we loved his jam!
The home is very stylish, spacious and comfortable. It was perfect for a couple but would also be great for a group of 4 or a family too. It is a garage that's been converted into a 2 bedroom apartment, so Joe is right next door if you need him for anything but you've also got plenty of privacy if that's what you want. The wood burning fire in the lounge room was already lit for us when we arrived so we just had to keep feeding it from the large pile of logs provided, this kept the place really cosy in the evening. It's just a 10 minute taxi drive into Wexford town and there are taxi numbers etc. provided in the house. Wifi and internet TV are there as well as lots of DVDs and books so plenty to keep you entertained.
We spent three fabulous days relaxing in Joe's "Little Corner of the Earth". Joe is a great host and the homemade bread and jam were delicious. The house is in a great location, 10 mins to Wexford Town, 15 mins to the beach, and the nearby lake is a must see.
Joe is a great character and offers an exceptional welcome. We only stayed the night and were away early to catch the ferry from Rosslare. But we'd love to come back. The fire was roaring on our arrival and Joe had prepared a welcome pack of homemade bread and other treats. Stay here if you get the chance.
Where to start? We were made to feel incredibly welcome from the beginning from the thoughtful toys for the kids to the delicious goodies! The accommodation was even better than described, so comfortable and clean. Cot for baby was very comfy with extra proper mattress and blankets, kids are still talking about Joe and the fun they had. Will definitely be good back, would highly recommend a stay here. Joe is truly a great host.
My boyfriend Danny and I had a great stay with the warmest of welcome. Freshly baked bread, homemade jam& homemade lemonade"American style"!! A real nice gesture. Thankyou joe . Such a cosy little place, much bigger than expected! The fire was a little heaven in the evenings and the bed was so comfy we didn't want to leave! The area is great we explored the beach which was about 12k from wexford town .. Stunning. We will be back for sure as was perfect for our weekend retreat
We loved staying at Joe and Edith's. The fire burning for us when we arrived was just lovely and Joe even had roses on the table for valentines weekend! There are so many lovely touches to the apartment and it was so peaceful. Joe also had home made bread and jam for us when we arrived. Then there's Joe! A delightful, funny, New Yorker/Wexfordian who was a pleasure to chat with. I would highly recommend staying here and we would love to return too!
