The Space

I have a magic place in Cancun, a paradise specially made to relax and admire the amazing turquoise waters of Cancun and it´s beautiful nature. Here you can enjoy the fantasy of the caribbean sea with breathtaking views of Isla Mujeres, another paradise.

This amazing penthouse has 2 lovely bedrooms with 2 spacious bathrooms and it´s fully furnished. The penthouse is equipped with everything you need like kitchen, two balconys, pool, sea lounge, beautiful gardens and parking.

The condo has a privileged location close to pretty much everything. It´s in walking distance to the bus and taxi stop. (Just 1 block away). It is also close to the modern Ferry that goes to Isla Mujeres every 30 minutes.

Another secret is to enjoy the delights of local fishermen in "Playa del Nino" beach within walking distance from the penthouse.

Pamper yourself staying at this magic place.

I´ve been living in Cancun for 15 years now so I´m already a local. This means that I can recommend you the best tours and places in town and not only that, I can get you discounts on most of them. (Example: Tulum, Xcaret, Chichen Itza, Xel Ha, or activities like Diving, Fishing, Jungle Tours, etc).

  • We stayed in the condo for 3 weeks, so we feel comfortable in expressing pros and cons. We stayed in unit #16
Pros: The basics are taken care of such as--cleanliness upon arrival, hot water for showers with good pressure, air conditioning working well. Condo is large enough for four and the view of the sea is beautiful. The staff is attentive and friendly, but the guest must have some basic Spanish as little English is spoken. This is only fair. Wifi works fine with minor blips in signal strength. TV has a few English channels so you can usually watch something when it is necessary. The ferry to Isla Mujeres is next door and that island is where we spent all our time. It is fantastic. A restaurant nearby that we enjoyed is Mandinga--it's great, with pleasant owners.
Cons: The big drawback is location. You can't really go for a stroll at night because there are no destinations as the two nearby restaurants close at 7.There are no bars and the area is a bit sketchy. The advertised host,Jose Eduardo, is not there. We did not see him at all.We were locked out when we arrived even though I emailed Jose Eduardo the day before we left. I finally got in by seeing one of the tenants and he opened the door for me.
The bottom line: If you can find a similar place on Isla Mujeres it is best to go there. You will spend all your time there anyway as it has everything a vacationer can ask for.

  • El alojamiento no es como muestran las fotos.
Estaba sucio y su ubicacion solo es conveniente si se ha de visitar isla mujeres ya que esta cerca puerto juarez.
    Me ha decepcionado.

  • We enjoyed our 3 night stay in Cancun at Jose's Oceanview Penthouse by the Sea. We stayed in Villa #15, which was a bit disappointing, as it was NOT one of the Penthouse villas listed/pictured on the listing. You should speciafically ask for villa #16 or #17 when making your reservation as they are the ones pictured, and much nicer!!! The building is in a neighbourhood literally next door to the ferry terminal, so the beach & water is not very nice for swimming. It's quite far from the Hotel Zone & beautiful beaches of Cancun, but we had a car, so were able to easily drive there & enjoy! The building is rustic with Mexican decor which we liked, the pool & grounds are very lush & green & nice. The apt itself is very basic, but we asked for the missing coffee machine, more bath towels, & beach towels, and promptly received everything we needed. There were no hangers in the closets which was a little annoying. The staff was very helpful & friendly. We also made the trip to Isla Muejeres, which was quick & easy and fun! Overall it was good experience.

  • The GOOD:
The Condo complex is right on the water. There is wonderful breeze and a nice view of Isla Mujeres and the sea.

    The BAD:
Well our condo was NOT clean and new like it looked in the pictures. We even had to wash the dishes before using them...they were dirty. The whole complex is fairly old and run down. NOT like the pictures (those must have been taken years ago) We also had some issues with what appeared to be cockroaches (about 2 inches long). The pool was not clean or clear.
Jose Eduardo was not there (we think he lives out of town). We never spoke with him. We talked with Mariana. She was very nice and helpful. She was 30 mins late to meet us to give us the keys. She told us there was NO password for the WIFI. But there actually was one!
I must admit, we didn't have local cell phone to call her with problems. Plus, we were only there for a couple days.

The photos show 2 beds in the 2nd bedroom (a single and a double) But there is only one double in that room. We chose to eat out rather then use the kitchen. The area is typical Mexico. There are several small Mexican seafood restaurants, if you walk up the street toward Playa del Nino. Our three children did NOT like this beach at all, it was covered with seaweed. We just played in the sand. But unless you are going to Isla Mujeres, we don't see any reason to stay here.

    Response from Jose Eduardo:

Carol, I am surprised to read this evaluation, the pictures of the condo are bnb aprooved and they were taken very soon ago, as you can see in the other revews no one has complained about the place, we are not a 5 star hotel and since we are next to the jungle some insects can not be avoided and we are non toxic all organic place, it is normal to see insects, I understand the complaint about the dishes, that has been talked about with the cleaning lady but it surprises me you did not ask one of us to fix that, since there are many staff people at Casa Mexicana and you could asked to fix it at the moment, the cleaning lady must have washed them days before and since a huimid place they get dirty every 3 days even without using them, the WIFI has no password. If you have asked for help with the staff they would have solved it in a second. You said nothing to no one. You did not ask for help, how could we know you needed anything? Mariana was 10 muntes late and she apologized but you were also a little early. I think if you had a little more communication you would have found very friendly peolpe willing to help as in the other revews. Thanks for expressing yourself and maybe expressing during your stay is a lot better than after. We have many workers at Casa Mexicana that are always willing to help anytime. Best Regards.

  • It was everything you could ask for and more. Amazing! We stayed in two of the units available and both are perfect. You can stop looking and book this place today.

  • We had a great stay here! Mariana`s daughters made us a nice guide and drawing which was very thoughtful. We took them up on some advice on which restaurants to go to, and also checked out some ruins just a few minutes north of the place. The location is near the ferry to Isla Mujeres, so you can literally cut across the beach and be on the ferry dock in 30 seconds. I highly suggest taking a trip to Isla Mujeres if staying here :) Also, there is parking on site for 1 car which is nice, as having a car is recommended for this location.

    February 2013
  • It's really nice apartments for friends or family, clean, good location, very nice hosts. Mariana is very helpful and tried to help to solve any small problem or our request. We enjoyed every minute spent there. I definitely can recommend this place to everyone. If I can be back, I will stay there for sure again. Jose Eduardo and Mariana I really wish you good luck in your business.

    February 2013
  • The views from both bedrooms are spectacular. If you're interested in visiting Isla Mujeres, the apartment is perfectly located; the walk to the ferry is less than 5 mins. Getting to other places will require a car or taxi. Taxis will be easy to find as there were many right outside the ferry terminal. It's important to note though that the neighborhood itself does not offer much. There is a restuarant, and a few places to buy basics for the apartment, but not much else.

I´m a Cancun fan that wants to share this beautiful paradise with people all over the world. I love Music, I love to sing, play the guitar and invite my friends to sing along with me. Im a fresh food fan and I think I know the best restaurants in Cancun, and they´re not necessarily the expensive ones. I´m a proud Mexican and I love Mexico´s History. I deeply respect and enjoy nature and animals. I would like my guests to think of me as an easygoing, down to earth, Bohemian kind of guy. I don´t really have a life motto in particular but if I had one it would be something like: Share Love and respect everyone.
