Bright and clean basement bedroom and private bathroom in Wash Park home that's charming outside, and modern inside. We're 6 blocks from Denver's best park (Washington Park), 3 blocks from light rail station, 6 blocks from the fun shops and restaurants of South Broadway, and 3 miles from the heart of downtown. Very desirable location!
We are energetic hosts with fairly hectic work and personal schedules, so our guests should feel free to come and go as they please. However, we're always excited to share suggestions on how to make the most of your time in Denver. We bike pretty much everywhere we go (because we're able to living here), and we even have a few extra bikes that you can use during your stay.
Details you might find helpful:
- One of us works from the upstairs office during the day, so we keep it pretty quiet during week days.
- There's no TV in the bedroom, but we do have wireless internet.
- There's ample street parking available at no charge, although you don't necessarily need to rent a car if you're staying in the city. (We live so close to the light rail and the bus line!) If you're heading to the mountains, though, you'll want a car for sure.
- No pets, please
- Basic breakfast items are available if you want them (cereal, coffee, etc), but we're within walking distance of many amazing breakfast restaurants and you'd miss out on a piece of your Denver experience if you don't try them out. You're on your own for additional meals.
- Contact us if you have more than 2 guests and they don't mind sleeping on air mattresses. We have the space to accommodate if needed.
- Smokers are absolutely not allowed. Sorry.
Such a great, relaxing stay!
I was with Gina and Bryan for a week, and my stay was so wonderful. The neighborhood is great. You can walk, run, or bike to Washington Park which is a lovely place to spend the afternoon. They have bikes you can use to take to S Pearl St for the farmers' market on Sundays or just to hang at Stella's coffee house and do some shopping. There are plenty of markets and restaurants close by.
The house is warm and pleasant! You have so much space to yourself as well as use of the house and the lovely sun room and deck. I felt very at home, and both Gina and Bryan are incredibly friendly, interesting, and very cool people!
Bryan and Gina's place was a great find - a perfect location in an excellent neighborhood, an amazing house with everything you could need or want, and most of all such gracious hosts who were always available and helpful. I couldn't have found a better place to stay and I recommend it to everyone.
It was a true delight to stay with Gina and Bryan! The guest room was spacious, comfortable and private and it truly felt like a "home away from home" with access to shared spaces like the kitchen and TV area. I was made to feel welcome immediately with their tremendous friendliness and was even able to borrow a bike to leisurely tour the charming neighborhood. The location was ideal, conveniently located near Washington Park, downtown Denver, the Whole Foods and quaint, local eateries and coffee shops and with easy access to the Interstate.
Absolute Perfection! Gina and Bryan were the ideal hosts. My son, Duke, and I felt like we were at home. The house was very clean and comfortable and the location was stellar. I would highly recommend Gina and Bryan and their Modern Wash Park bungalow. This will always be my home away from home in all future trips to Denver!!
Gina and Bryan were excellent hosts. They both made my stay very easy and relaxing. The bed was comfortable. The access was simple and convenient. I highly recommend taking some time to relax on the back deck under the canvas.
They loaned me a bike for the 3 days I was there, making my trips around town quick and easy.
I had an absolutely wonderful time at this bungalow! Gina and Bryan are great at helping with questions about the time and suggestions. While at the same time they know how to give you your space as well. I honestly would have a hard time thinking of better hosts I've met in Denver.
The space is very spacious, clean, and perfect for your needs. There's a small window which was perfect since I sleep during the day and work nightshift. This helped me have some great sleep. That as well as the amazing bed and pillows. Much better than any hotel bed and probably even better than my bed at home. There's was plenty of storage space for my needs. The wifi worked well and I had no problems with internet or other such details.
Parking takes some thought with the bus lane out front from 7a-9a, but once you find what works for you it's not bad at all. That parking is great any other time and is completely free on weekends.
Bryan and Gina were so sweet letting me keep my bike in the garage. The kitchen was always clean with space for my few things.
All in all, I would've stayed here longer if it could've worked out. So yes, I would definitely recommend them. I didn't know them before I came out here to Denver for work but I feel blessed to have met some friends.
Gina and Bryan are the perfect hosts! The room is clean, spacious, and homey (with nice linens, including fluffy towels!), it's easy to come and go as you please, and the sunroom (with a super cool garage door!) really is a perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. The house is a short walk to Wash Park, which is really cool, and it's convenient to the interstate and downtown.
I can't emphasize enough how kind and inviting Gina & Bryan are -- they'll make you feel right at home, and their excitement about Denver is contagious. The tourism board should be paying them for their service to the city! I will definitely be back to visit and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.
What a fun little place to stay! I only had one night at Gina and Bryan's but they were fab hosts! The room itself was great--downstairs, private and clean. I had my own bathroom as well which was an added perk. However, Gina and Bryan by no means made me feel like I had to stay downstairs and out of their way! They're a super-energetic couple who always have a suggestion of where to go, what to do and how to get there. I'm familiar with Denver but have only used public transit there once before so their knowledge of how to get around via light rail was really helpful. They also let me borrow a bike cruiser to hit up a local ice cream shop nearby that was incredible. Good thing I don't live close-by--there's no way I could pedal off all the calories I'd consume if I lived as close as they do to that place! Gina and Bryan--thanks for the tip to check that place out!
A few other details: breakfast was simple but tasty; I thought it was nice of them to offer to feed me, as I wasn't expecting it. As hosts they were very respectful of me as a guest. They were quiet and gracious. Truly, a very hospitable couple! I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the Denver area!
