  • I booked this accommodation with Maria about a month before my trip. I was told it was essential to book ahead for high season in goa so I was relieved to have something in place and on the beach. Maria gave me her phone number and told me to ring her from a restaurant near the huts when I arrived, she said she would pick me up from there. I emailed a few days before to confirm what time I would be arriving but got no response. I emailed again the day before and still no response. I arrived at the restaurant she indicate and rang her number so she could come and meet us, her phone was switched off!! Needless to say I was not happy to have arrived after a long journey to find myself stranded without accommodation. I managed to find a guesthouse nearby with a free room thankfully. It was also a fraction of the price Maria was going to charge me, so once the panic had subsided it turned out to be a blessing. DO NOT BOTHER BOOKING THIS ACCOMMODATION! there are much cheaper options (including beach huts) if you turn up ad ask around. This is a total rip off. The only reason you would book this would be for a sense of security in having something booked ahead of time, but as you can see from my experience this is no guarantee at all. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

  • Maria is very kind and gives us much information through email before going to the place. We arrived in the late evening. The place (as warned before) a construction site but our hut was ready. During our stay we actually never met Maria (Sofia called by the locals). We didn't receive any help or assistance after arrival. We were really left in the dark about everything.

Since we never stayed in a Goan beach hut we didn't know what to expect. The hut itself is very basic, thin walls with big gaping parts in the corners. The bed is on wooden floor and the bathroom has a linoleum floor math on top of the wooden floor. There is quite a big gap between the bedroom and the bathroom so you could have some animal visitors as well. We missed some good towels and bed linnen. Also covers for the pillows were missing. Agreed it's a basic hut but these simple things would make it more hygenic. Also watch out with hair dryers because this causes the power to shut down completely. We experienced this very early in the morning and didn't know which lights were on and which were off. We took a gues in the hope to turn off everything when power should return but the guess was wrong. all the lights turned on when power was returned. Since we were gone for a full day we got a note to save electricity and water!
The positive thing is that the location is nice and quiet. The restaurants close down early and don't make lots of noise.

Next door is a recently opened restaurant with very friendly people and good food and drinks! They also have beach huts. We heard from them the price in low season (november) is actually around 500 Rps / night for a simple beach hut. Since this listing (20€ or 1600 Rps) only uses high season prices it was much overpriced for our stay. We didn't had any idea of prices for beach huts in Goa so we weren't aware that 20€ is actually way too much for the hut you get in return.

We had a good feeling by Maria by the emails but it wasn't the experienced we hoped it would be once we arrived. Hopefully the huts will improve in the future.

  • My stay in the hut was amazing. I fell asleep to the sound of beach waves with 15 steps to the water for a morning, day or evening swim. The people managing the huts were very, very nice, friendly, fun and helpful, though you have to ask them a couple of times before they act on your requests. Just be polite and patient and all will come your way. Staying here you're definitely in for an all natural ride with everything that comes along of animals and bugs, but the grand surroundings of palm trees, soft sand and sunset drumming sessions gave my stay an extra touch of amazingness. Here, I truly felt as they say: in India, a guest is like God.
