Located in Via Della Colonna Antonina, just 2 minutes walk from the Pantheon, and in the heart of the historic center of Rome, this modernone-bedroom air-conditioned apartment is the perfect place to stay when on holiday or a business trip to Rome.
A charming tastefully decorated apartment located in the historic center of Rome in an historic residential "Palazzo".
The apartment offers a spacious living room with a double size sofa bed, an open plan kitchen, a large bathroom and a master bedroom with a queen size bed. The location of the apartment is unbeatable if one is looking for a leisure and site seeing vacation, just 200 meters from the Pantheon and 400 meters from the Trevi fountain amidst cobble stoned historic allies and historic piazza's. All major monuments in Rome are in a short walking distance from this high end style apartment. That served as the residence of a an Italian parliament member up until few years ago.
The apartment is located in the heart of the historic center of Rome. You can easily walk to most of the sightseeing attractions in the cener - just 2 minutes walk to the Pantheon, 500 meters from the Trevi Fountain, and 5 minutes walk to the Spanish stairs or Piazza Navona. An ideal location to visit the highlights of Rome, and to feel like a local
There are many buslines around the corner (50 meters away), and the Metro station of The Spanish stairs is located just 5-10 minutes walk away
It is a very modern apartment which has been recently renovated, so you enjoy a new fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful spacious living room

Small but, not cramped. Bathroom is a bit small. Not fancy but, clean and comfortable. It's quiet even though it's steps away from campo d'fiori.
I'm giving 5 stars for the location and the service not, the furnishing or decorations. I went to Rome to drink too much wine and have a good time, and needed a clean, safe place to keep my stuff and lay my head...and for my simple needs, this flat was perfect.
Thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed the time with us at the Campo de Fiori apartment. The apartment is located in the center of everything, and it is good to hear that you have enjoyed its prime location.
We are looking forward to host you in the future in one of our apartments in Rome, or at our new boutique hotel in Barcelona
In the center of the city, close to Colosseum very convenient. Highly recommend this place!
Roberto is a nice person. Would definitely consider staying at that place next time.
I'll start with the cons, as they are small. There seemed to be a bit of a lack of communication between the leasing company (RetRome) and the owner of the flat (I'm guessing that's who she was, anyways), but it was quickly taken care of with a phone call and everything sorted out. As mentioned before, the shower is impossible to keep off the entire bathroom floor, so we'd mop up with a towel and hang out to dry during the day; didn't seem to be any way around that. The internet was kind of inconsistent and did not work in the bedroom. A washing machine would be nice for those staying longer and living out of backpacks in the sweaty summertime.
So that being said, i loved this apartment! While this piazza is pretty lively at night, the small street that the building is on is pretty quiet, especially considering it is directly in the middle of one of the oldest cities in the world. The apartment has just enough stuff to not be cluttered, and the small kitchen came fully equipped for 4 people to cook small meals for a few days in between finding good restaurants. The AC worked GREAT, which was such a relief after walking up 5ish flights of stairs (we were on the very top level) after a day of walking around in the July heat.
True, there is no close metro stop, which was kind of inconvenient, but the tram (line 8) stops just a few blocks away at Argentina, its terminal stop, then heads back to connect with the sparse Metro system. This area has so much in walking distance, it is completely worth it. The neighborhood is amazing, with the Campo just a moment's walk away, which is filled with fresh food and shops in the daytime and always surrounded by restaurants, a (cheap!) wonderful kebab shop, and a "health" food mini-mart/gift shop with reasonable prices on beer, wine, bread, and other small snack items. Always something to find, either in the piazza itself or on one of the streets shooting out from it. However, being from a smaller (and grid-like) american town, I would recommend anyone similar get something with reliable GPS on their phone - I don't know how I would have made it around the city and its crazy, bountiful tiny unnamed streets without getting lost otherwise.
As for the company, aside from the hiccup upon arrival, everything was great - quick email communication, plenty of information, and patience dealing with my incessant making-sure-everything-is-okay emails. I would highly recommend both this area and this apartment to anyone who wants to live in the middle of Rome for a few days!
With our arrival in Rome, we had RetRome set us up a pickup which I would recommend. Even though our flight was slightly delayed, our driver was their with my name waiting for us and was easy to find! The driver had a small problem finding the apartment but once we did, a representative of RetRome was waiting for us to let us into the apartment which was awesome!
I'm not sure, but I think they have several apartments in this building that they let out, so just so you know what you see in the pictures is not necessarily what you get. Also of note, there are two rooms to this apartment which are separated by the public landing of the staircase. On one side was a bed, the kitchen and the tv. On the other side was the bed and the bathroom. If I had known that the two rooms were separated in this way by a public landing, I probably would have picked a different apartment just because I was traveling with my mother and elderly grandmother and they were not used to this or as flexible as others might be.
Otherwise, the apartment was nice enough with all the amenities that we needed for our 6 night stay. I would say that the apartment was a little rundown. Not necessarily dirty or very bad in anyway, but the stove top was quite old and one of the windows was slightly broken. Not necessarily top notch, but still perfectly acceptable.
One of the bedrooms is on the street which because the apartment is in such an awesome location next to Campo de Fiori (a very lively market area that has fresh fruit and flowers in the mornings and afternoons as well as several restaurants, bars, take out pizza and gelato places open into the night), there was quite a bit of noise into the night. The noise was not that bothersome, but if you are looking for a quiet apartment, this one would not necessarily be for you.
Another thing to mention that might be of thought is that the apartment is not close to any metro stations. The metro is not extensive in Rome and only has a few lines and infrequent stops, but does stop off at some of the places you might be interested in seeing. There is a bus system in Rome which I barely got into using our last day there as we mainly walked. I'm sure you could get by just fine by using the buses, but if I were to go again, I would probably make sure that I was close to a stop so that I could use the metro if I wanted.
Checkout was fast and easy as all we had to do was leave our keys in a mailbox. I did ask for a driver to take us to the airport, but I probably should have emailed to double check on this because 10 minutes after he was supposed to show up, there was still no driver. There is a taxi station very close by so I just walked to it and got a taxi, so it was not a big deal. Overall the apartment worked out great for us and it was a lovely time in Rome!
- Great location
- The staff here was really great and went above and beyond to accomodate us. I couldn't have asked for people more dedicated to making sure we were happy.
- We were surprised negatively upon arrival. The apartment is shabbier, more run down, and darker than the photos make it appear. And they were doing work on the building right outside the doors that we hadn't been told about in advance that really impacted how the place felt.
We voiced our disappointment to the staff and they really helped. The biggest thing was that they found us a new place to stay among their propoerties (in the same building) and that worked out great. So a big THANK YOU to them, but also just be aware that the photos of the Garden Apartment paint an unrealistic picture of the unit.
pros: location was great with most major sights within walking distance, company was professional and responded to emails promptly, someone was present when we arrived to let us in to the apartment, clean linens.
cons: very sparsely furnished/decorated so ok for a weekend but not a place you'd want to stay for longer or for a romantic getaway, bathroom was terribly designed (incredibly tiny shower even by European standards with no good way of keeping water in; leaky toilet with [hopefully] clean water leaking onto the floor of the bathroom), internet access was very weak (essentially non-existent) in the bedroom.
This was a wonderful surprise; the location was prime, the room very clean and the staff was more than welcoming and inviting. I was also very pleased that support was offered regarding maps, location for resturants and daily breakfast at a quaint corner location. All of the reccomendations were on the MARK!
We visited every spot on the map including the market on Sunday......evey day was a wonderful journey and nicely presented on the maps given.
