About this listing
This comfortable and stylish apartment is ideal for anyone who is interested in experiencing the real Budapest, in the hub of the city. Located in “Palotanegyed", Budapest's main attractions are, as the Hungarians say: “within a spitting distance".
This apartment might be a mere 30 square meters, but it's a real gem with the added 10 square meters of a comfortable sleeping gallery. Its practical and smart design allows room for everything - a well-equipped kitchen (with spices and a NESPRESSO coffee machine), a dining area, a library/second sleeping area for a couple and a study.
On the ground level there is a small bathroom with a shower and on the sleeping gallery… a Zen bathtub for relaxing! Electric floor heating ensures a comfortable temperature in winter, while the apartment stays cool and comfortable even during the hottest days of the summer (and all that without air conditioning!)
The flat reflects the lavender feeling of the Mediterranean and in the library/sleeping area the wall is painted by a contemporary painter, reminiscent of the famous “ruin bars" of Pest.

“Location, location, location" – it doesn't get better than this! Located in “Palotanegyed", Budapest's main attractions are, as the Hungarians say: “within a spitting distance". The Jewish district with the city's best bars and restaurants, as well as the famous “ruin-bars" are within an easy five, ten-minute walk. If culture and history is your thing, you may want to visit the Hungarian National Museum on the street corner, or the Dohàny utca Synagogue nearby.
With both the M2 and M3 metro line nearby, as well as the number 4/6 trams that run 24 hours a day, any part of the city can be easily reached.
Other Things to Note
If you are curious to know: the building was built by Baron László Podmaniczky, member of the Hungarian House of Lords in 1885, in the golden age of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, during which time most of Budapest's urban structure was formed, modeled on the cities of Paris and Vienna. “The Palace Quarter"(Palotanegyed in Hungarian) got its name because the Hungarian aristocracy, Jewish merchants and industrialists built their urban residences here.
After World War II and forty years of the communist-era this quarter, too, became drab and ravaged, but in the past two decades the quarter has become the most vibrant and happening neighbourhood, especially among the young. The inhabitants of the building today represent all layers of the Hungarian society.
Please take care of the apartment and its furniture as you would of your own home.
Please keep things as quiet as possible to respect our neighbours. The courtyard echoes and the walls of the appartments are thin!
In the house we have selective waste bins, when you leave the apartment, they are located next door on the right handside, next to a stairway. The normal dustbins are held in a small room, right in front of the appartment, on the opposite side of the garden.
Please, no smoking in the appartment! Next to the entrance of the flat you will find ashtrays and chairs or benches in the garden to sit on.
Clean flat, sheets and towels are provided for our guests. No cleaning is made during there stay here, this way we can ensure a favorable price for a week or month. However, if you are booking for a longer time and would like the sheets and towels changed and the apartment cleaned each week, we are willing to do so at an additional cost of $15 in each case. Please let us know such a demand before booking and then we shall quote the price accordingly.
And most importantly: make yourself at home, live your life, and enjoy your stay! :)
