ABOUT THE APARTMENT:
The apartment is on top of a 4-story walk-up building. The unique A-frame architecture has skylights throughout the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms, making the entire space much brighter and more welcoming than the typical New York interior. There is a private back porch, large enough to accommodate an outdoor dinner party, with a grill, hammock, potted garden, and an unobstructed view of the nearby Manhattan skyline.
While the bedrooms and bathroom are of course private, the common areas all fall within an open architecture, making all of the apartment's most attractive features available from everywhere. Cook dinner in the kitchen while watching a movie on the large projector in the living room. Listen to music from the office stereo while emailing your friends from the porch hammock to tell them about your mind-blowing New York accommodations.
ABOUT THE BEDROOM(S):
The apartment has 2 bedrooms, one for me and one for you (though I sometimes rent my own room when I travel - I'll let you know prior to booking if this is going to be the case for your stay). Both rooms have 4 large skylights, a full size bed for 1-2 guests (fitted with freshly cleaned sheets and towels), night stands, and a full-sized dresser. You'll find a power strip with an iPod/iPhone charger and EU/UK adapters for all your indispensable travel electronics.
ABOUT THE KITCHEN:
I'm one of those people who thinks that investing in nice things for my kitchen will make me a better cook, and my ignorance is your gain. Help yourself to various luxury brand appliances and cookwares, daily fresh ground espresso, and an arsenal of organic ingredients for making your favorite dish from home, wherever it might be.
You'll have access to the entire apartment with the exception of my bedroom. Feel free to use my cookware, toiletries, whatever you need to feel at home. See amenities for more details.
Interaction with Guests
Depends on the guests and ranges from not very much at all to enough that I've stayed in touch with and even stayed at the homes of my guests when I've been in their home countries.
The apartment is smack in the heart of Williamsburg. Enjoy all the surrounding restaurants, bars, coffee shops, music venues, and boutiques, or if you're feeling touristy, take a 10 minute ride on the L train to Union Square, the most convenient subway hub to any place you'd want to be in Manhattan. McCarren park is a 10 minute walk south, the Williamsburg bridge a 10 minute walk west (and a great place to take in views of Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn from the same place).
The apartment is located 2 stops into Brooklyn, literally on top of the Lorimer stop on the L train, which takes you into Manhattan within 10 minutes. The L train runs east/west, while all the manhattan lines all run north/south. Just take the L until you're at whatever manhattan line you need.
The G train runs out of the same station for easy access to Greenpoint, Queens, and south Brooklyn.
I don't really feel that house rules are necessary, but AirBnB bumps your listing in the search results if you post at least fifty words here, so here are some obvious ones:
Please don't steal anything.
Please try not to break anything.
Please keep the common areas reasonably clean while you're here and do a once-over before you leave. I'll take care of washing your sheets and towels and cleaning the floor and surfaces of your bedroom.
Daniel is «the» example of a perfect airbnb host. He is present when you need him and he’s almost invisible when you need your space. Uncomplicated and easy! The apartement is a W’burgs «biyoux». Don’t hesitate to get in contact with him.
Daniel was a great host! He made my friend and I feel welcome and provided us access to whatever we needed. The apartment was great, very conveniently situated beside the L train subway line which gets you into Manhattan within minutes. The bagel shop across the street was also amazing and very affordable!
Daniel was a very gracious host & his place was just perfect for our stay! It was comfortable, cozy & in a great location! Subway access was super easy & direct, too. I would definitely stay there again & would recommend his place highly to others.
Great host, lovely apartment. Daniel has thinking about everything in this flat.
Daniel was friendly and inviting. His space is gorgeous and conveniently located right across the street from the subway. He's full of tips and super accommodating. I have a ton of food allergies/can't eat out and he had no problem letting me store my own food in his fridge and use the stove/sink/plates/pans. It was about a million times better than staying at a hotel. And a lot cheaper. It was my first Airbnb experience and it was a perfect one.
The location is very central, there is a subway station literally across the building. The house is surrounded by a great variety of businesses that are open most of the day. There is a 24/7 bakery right across , a grocery store, whatever you need is around. The apartment is 7 to 10 min walk to trendy spots in Williamsburg. And Daniel is a very kind and friendly guy.
Daniel made my stay really easy and i really enjoyed my stay at his apartment. Very comfy room and beautiful balcony.
Will happily stay here again in the future.
