ABOUT THE APARTMENT:
The apartment is on top of a 4-story walk-up building. The unique A-frame architecture has skylights throughout the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms, making the entire space much brighter and more welcoming than the typical New York interior. There is a private back porch, large enough to accommodate an outdoor dinner party, with a grill, hammock, potted garden, and an unobstructed view of the nearby Manhattan skyline.
While the bedrooms and bathroom are of course private, the common areas all fall within an open architecture, making all of the apartment's most attractive features available from everywhere. Cook dinner in the kitchen while watching a movie on the large projector in the living room. Listen to music from the office stereo while emailing your friends from the porch hammock to tell them about your mind-blowing New York accommodations.
ABOUT THE BEDROOM(S):
The apartment has 2 bedrooms, one for me and one for you (though I sometimes rent my own room when I travel - I'll let you know prior to booking if this is going to be the case for your stay). Both rooms have 4 large skylights, a full size bed for 1-2 guests (fitted with freshly cleaned sheets and towels), night stands, and a full-sized dresser. You'll find a power strip with an iPod/iPhone charger and EU/UK adapters for all your indispensable travel electronics.
ABOUT THE KITCHEN:
I'm one of those people who thinks that investing in nice things for my kitchen will make me a better cook, and my ignorance is your gain. Help yourself to various luxury brand appliances and cookwares, daily fresh ground espresso, and an arsenal of organic ingredients for making your favorite dish from home, wherever it might be.
You'll have access to the entire apartment with the exception of my bedroom. Feel free to use my cookware, toiletries, whatever you need to feel at home. See amenities for more details.
Depends on the guests and ranges from not very much at all to enough that I've stayed in touch with and even stayed at the homes of my guests when I've been in their home countries.
The apartment is smack in the heart of Williamsburg. Enjoy all the surrounding restaurants, bars, coffee shops, music venues, and boutiques, or if you're feeling touristy, take a 10 minute ride on the L train to Union Square, the most convenient subway hub to any place you'd want to be in Manhattan. McCarren park is a 10 minute walk south, the Williamsburg bridge a 10 minute walk west (and a great place to take in views of Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn from the same place).
The apartment is located 2 stops into Brooklyn, literally on top of the Lorimer stop on the L train, which takes you into Manhattan within 10 minutes. The L train runs east/west, while all the manhattan lines all run north/south. Just take the L until you're at whatever manhattan line you need.
The G train runs out of the same station for easy access to Greenpoint, Queens, and south Brooklyn.
The place is in an excellent location, literally on top of the Lorimer St metro which can have you in Manhattan in 15 mins. The area is lovely with decent supermarkets, off licence, restaurants and a great bagel shop all within walking distance. The place itself is fantastic with the balcony and the view being an amazing highlight. Daniel was a great host, really friendly and helpful and we had a great time staying there
We had a great experience at Daniel's place. The space is beautiful and unique, and the location was perfect. You'll even be able to find parking if you're arriving by car. Highly recommended!
Very impressed by the decor and location of this rental! Daniel was accomodating to our schedule made the stay easy and enjoyable.
Daniel is the consummate host, sharing everything from home made curry and local gigs to late night whiskeys. Always on hand for a post-hipster perspective on everything Williamsburg and not to mention the coolest apartment in the best part of town. Staying with him totally made our trip to New York, RECOMMEND.
Although not every stay works out in this fashion, I have always considered the element of the host to be one of the biggest potential boons to traveling via Airbnb. Everything you see from the pictures is just as the place was, but the best part by far was having a host as easy going, accommodating, and prompt in communication as Daniel was. I would certainly go back again if given the opportunity.
The location is great , close to the station and not too far from Bedford ave by foot. The apartment looks great as in the photos. However the walls are very thin and there is an opening at the top of the bedroom wall that lets quite a lot of noise in. Not very private but a nice host and nice space . Overall great stay just to note.
We couldn't have hoped for a better Airbnb experience. Not only does Danny have an amazing place, every bit as good as the pix suggest, he's also a great host. We arrived in NYC without any real plans and ended up spending most of it with him, partying at new year, sitting watching movies and eating in some very cool places around where he stays. He was always flexible and willing to share, and is very trusting with his awesome flat. We won't be forgetting your hospitality any time soon...
Really cool place with an awesome view of Manhattan. The place is just as described in the listing and the photos. Incredibly convenient location next to the L line to get into Manhattan, and Williamsburg is a great place in it's own right. Daniel's done a great job with the place and made the experience very smooth and easy. Would definitely stay here again.
Daniel's place was amazing and Daniel was amazing! This place has an incredible location, tons of natural sunlight, nice private room and 2 feet from the L train. What more do you need?
It was a pleasure staying at Daniel's loft. It's ideally located in a great area of Williamsburg with access to the subway right accross the street! I found great places to eat as well as go for a drink within a couple blocks. Daniel is a wonderful host and I would highly recommend paying him a visit.
