About this listing
Stay in this cheerful, design forward 2BR apt that we created just for AirBnB. We added touches that we wish were in all of the places we stay, like a washer/dryer, a jambox, comfy beds, nice shampoo, and robes from India. BTW, this location rocks.
-bright, cheerful, deliberately decorated space
-2 bedrooms (1 with a double bed, 1 with a queen bed)
-newly renovated with all new appliances
-full kitchen with dishwasher/disposal
-washer/dryer in apartment
-awesome location above a tea shop and juice bar, and across the street from a great coffee shop
-second floor walk-up (no elevator access)
-central air and individualized climate control
-clawfoot bathtub for soaking
-full-size malin+goetz bath products
Guests have access to the entire apartment, which is on a floor with six other long-term tenants. Guests can also use the communal outdoor patio down the hall.
Interaction with Guests
We will be present to hand off keys when we are in town (we live across the street in an old firehouse). If neither of us are available, we will leave the keys to the apartment with the owners of the tea shop (Cleveland Tea Revival) or with Katie, who helps to manage the property.
Hingetown is a fabulous part of the Ohio City neighborhood in Cleveland, and (email hidden) to explore. There is a contemporary art gallery across the street, an indoor cycling/spin studio down the street in the same building, and lots of other community-focused amenities. We are sure you'll love it as much as we do.
We will supply two folding bikes for your use during your stay, and there is a bike share program called Zagster with a stand across the street at the firehouse. There are multiple bus lines less than a block away to take you to downtown or the east side, and we are a 7-minute walk from the heart of the Market District in Ohio City, where there is a Rapid station. Getting here from the airport is easiest by taxi, which will take about 20 minutes and cost less than $30. You can also take the Rapid and walk if you prefer.
Cleveland also has both Uber and Lyft, so these are also great resources for getting around.
Other Things to Note
We've teamed up with two dynamic local artists whose art is displayed on the walls. All the art is for sale!
-No smoking in the apartment
-Pets generally not preferred but let us know your circumstance - we have made exceptions for smaller well-behaved dogs, with a $50 pet fee
-$25 one-time cleaning fee added to the bill
Graham was a good communicator and got back to me in a timely fashion.
It is very spacious and easy to access location. It is a fun space with cool art, funky sinks, great counters, chic seating area and a large open feel that is always desired. It close to many wonderful CLE sights, restaurants, shops, and a fun location to stay offering a great local feel in a trendy neighborhood with super tea, juice, and coffee spots right downstairs. A hotspot for sure!
A few notes for some that may not know, as we did not. This area is hopping at night. We knew it was during the day, but in the evening there is loud music and a good night life location if you are desiring this. If you want quite before 1 am., you might want to choose another location or keep the fan on high (which helps). If you have any allergy issues, keep in mind this is a restored building and we experienced some sneezing and dust issues. Sadly the cleaning was also a bit off from the entrance going into the building and upstairs, to hair in the bathroom and mold on the shower curtain that was unpleasant. There was also a missing shade that we remedied by hanging a blanket. Which was necessary due to a street light that would have been an issue otherwise.
Graham and Marika's place was perfect for our visit to Cleveland! The apartment was great - looks exactly like the images but better, with CAM Contemporary Photography exhibit space next door and Rising Star Coffee!
The neighborhood is beautiful - lots of historic homes and lush greenery. You are a very short walk to lots of great craft beer and eateries.
Marika and Graham were very attentive and responsive hosts - they notified us of an issue with the guest bed frame and made sure it was addressed as soon as possible. We would definitely stay with Marika and Graham during our next visit to Cleveland!
This place was awesome. Super clean and stylish in a great location! We will definitely be back!
Loved staying at Marika and Grahams place! The area is super nice, the people friendly and the hosts super welcoming! The flat is probably gonna be the nicest place we're gonna stay at throughout our entire trip. Very clean and cozy.
Our Hingetown/Cleveland holiday was a huge success! The location of Marika and Graham's airbnb was perfect for our family. A 5 minute drive to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which was my husbands "must do" on this trip, and a quick drive to the beach and skate board park for my kids entertainment. Walked to the west end market and THE BEST ice cream shop, Mitchell's, as well as walked to dinner each night. The apartment was clean and funky! A big part of the fun for us was discovering the Juke Box bar upon arrival. Stayed there for 4 hours without even unpacking our bags when we arrived. Played in a ping pong tournament and met some locals who told us what might be fun to do with the kids on our stay! Kids played Pac Man and various other 80's video games that they loved. :) A perfect 10 for our first city holiday with the kids.
Another great stay at this apartment. Well located, nice and clean and good coffee across the road!
We loved staying at Graham and Marika's place in Cleveland! Before we arrived, Graham and Marika were great about communicating the plan for coordination, as well as options for what to do upon arrival. The place is charming and friendly, just as in the pictures. The street that the apartment is on is cute, and we enjoyed finding a sweet little coffee shop right across the street - great for a pick-me-up before starting the day.
