About this listing
This hand-built, light and cozy studio is called the ‘The Nest’ (380 sf). The Nest is the guest house of a local artist Betsy Wolfston and her partner Michael who live next door on the property.
The space is pretty much one large room with a beautiful and simple separate bathroom. A kitchenette includes a sink, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, small refrigerator and dishes, and a few coffee and tea choices. Sleeping accommodations are a queen size bed in its own nook and a pull out sofa bed. The Nest has a very cozy gas/wood stove - perfect for Oregon rainy weather - ceiling fan, DVD/TV player, ipod docking stereo, and all original artwork. It also has its own porch/deck with table, umbrella and chairs and gas grill for you to enjoy the outdoors. Wifi access of course!
Situated in the heart of downtown Eugene, it is an easy one plus mile walk to the University of Oregon and the Hult Performing Arts Center. One of the best bakeries in town - Sweet Life - is four blocks away. The Nest is located on the east/west bike path and is one block to a couple of different bus stops. We have easy out front parking and are conveniently located in a friendly, quiet and safe neighborhood. The Nest is artistic in its hand crafted details - a very relaxing and warm home away from home. We pride ourselves in its impeccable cleanliness - only green cleaning products are used. We also subscribe to the Green Power option of our local utility.
$95 per night for two people. There is an extra charge for more than two people. Weekly and monthly rates are available - please contact us for information. We are pet friendly - with extra cleaning fee and damage deposit.
Special rates apply for home U of O games, track events, and some festivals.
Location: Great craftsman-filled neighborhood with big trees, easy (~15-minute) walk to downtown, coffee, breweries, etc.
Lodging itself: The Nest was awesome! Super clean & very charming. Shower is a little small, but GREAT water pressure. And even on a 100+ degree weekend in the summer, the place cooled down very quickly once we turned on the air conditioning unit.
All in all, would definitely stay here again next time we are in Eugene.
This was our second year at The Nest, and as before we found it a welcome oasis to travel. Behind the gate the accommodations are comfortable and provide all we need for rest, reading or contemplation. Thank you Betsy & Michael
As active artists, Betsy and Michael are one busy couple. Yet, they made me feel extremely welcome in their Nest. It was easy to contact them with questions via text or phone.
Everything in their description of The Nest is accurate. However, it is good that I can review so I can expand on it. Their home and The Nest are located in one of Eugene new West Side, away from the university. The street, 12th, in front of The Nest is one way to cars, but is open both ways for bicycles. It really is an urban "green way" which makes it easy and secure to park on if you stay here, and quiet. It is an art-conscious, "hip", and really secure area. I found both older couples and younger professionals mingling at Whirled Pies, the local pizza place s block away from The Nest. A few blocks away and easy walking distance are a plethora of new restaurants like Noli Ristorante (one of the top 10 restaurants in Eugene) and Laughing Planet. A market is next to these restaurants on 7th.
I highly recommend The Nest for ANY trip you plan to make to Eugene. In fact, I'm ready to book my next stay here in a few days!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Nest. For us, it was a perfect location, an easy walking distance from both the Whitaker neighborhood and downtown. It was very clean, comfortable and well set up with everything we needed. Even though there is no stove, it has been cleverly supplied so we were able to make breakfast in the mornings. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely and street parking right outside was never an issue. Michael and Betsy are excellent hosts and we would happily stay at The Nest again next time we visit Eugene.
Wonderful stay! Very comfortable at the Nest, clean and all the amenities you need. Excellent location near downtown. Really enjoyed meeting Betsy and talking about Eugene!
I highly recommend staying at the nest. It is a very quite and private and has the feel of home. Wonderful art work on the walls and everything you need for a wonderful stay. The bed is cozy and everything was very clean. I look forward to my next visit to Eugene and stay at The Nest.
This is a great place, you should stay here. Michael is great, he made everything very simple. Great location to everything Eugene.
