This hand-built, light and cozy studio is called the ‘The Nest’ (380 sf). The Nest is the guest house of a local artist Betsy Wolfston and her partner Michael who live next door on the property.
The space is pretty much one large room with a beautiful and simple separate bathroom. A kitchenette includes a sink, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, small refrigerator and dishes, and a few coffee and tea choices. Sleeping accommodations are a queen size bed in its own nook and a pull out sofa bed. The Nest has a very cozy gas/wood stove - perfect for Oregon rainy weather - ceiling fan, DVD/TV player, ipod docking stereo, and all original artwork. It also has its own porch/deck with table, umbrella and chairs and gas grill for you to enjoy the outdoors. Wifi access of course!
Situated in the heart of downtown Eugene, it is an easy one plus mile walk to the University of Oregon and the Hult Performing Arts Center. One of the best bakeries in town - Sweet Life - is four blocks away. The Nest is located on the east/west bike path and is one block to a couple of different bus stops. We have easy out front parking and are conveniently located in a friendly, quiet and safe neighborhood. The Nest is artistic in its hand crafted details - a very relaxing and warm home away from home. We pride ourselves in its impeccable cleanliness - only green cleaning products are used. We also subscribe to the Green Power option of our local utility.
$95 per night for two people. There is an extra charge for more than two people. Weekly and monthly rates are available - please contact us for information. We are pet friendly - with extra cleaning fee and damage deposit.
Special rates apply for home U of O games, track events, and some festivals.
Hosts were lovely and prompt in all communications, left a thorough welcome letter in the house, gave us privacy but were happy to meet us and tell us about Eugene, and generally created a wonderful, cozy home experience.
It's a wonderfully tranquil space, completely private, quite roomy and fairly priced. Michael and Betsy made arrival very easy. The supply of tea and coffee provided with a water boiler was most appreciated. All of the fixtures, especially the lighting, are just beautiful. I most definitely would return and perhaps stay even longer -- best short-term rental I've found in Eugene.
Very cute and in a perfect location! Any questions you might have are answered perfectly on their welcome sheet. It's small, so if you have a ton of stuff you're bringing maybe try to dial it back. We loved it here :)
Staying at Michael and Betsy's "Nest" was a wonderful experience. Although I never met them in person, they were extremely thorough and communicative. The space itself is adorable and cozy and had everything I could imagine needing. The location is within walking distance to downtown - a perfect experience. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you!
Wonderful, cozy, quiet and peaceful place to stay. Loved the neighborhood and trees all around. Great place to walk and a short stroll from downtown, the train station and close to many famous brew pubs and eateries in the Eugene area. Michael and Betsy were excellent hosts.
We are two self employed artist types - Betsy as a ceramic/public artist for 25 years and Michael as a Fine Furniture Maker and Contractor. We love our little corner of Eugene and have enjoyed the different people we have met through hosting on Airbnb.
Our interests include the arts, hiking, reading, music, the local restaurant scene, gardening in our local community garden, yoga (Betsy), crossfit (Michael), and our pets - Bert (Chocolate Lab) and Tilda (Tabby Cat).
