The Space

This hand-built, light and cozy studio is called the ‘The Nest’ (380 sf). The Nest is the guest house of a local artist Betsy Wolfston and her partner Michael who live next door on the property.

The space is pretty much one large room with a beautiful and simple separate bathroom. A kitchenette includes a sink, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, small refrigerator and dishes, and a few coffee and tea choices. Sleeping accommodations are a queen size bed in its own nook and a pull out sofa bed. The Nest has a very cozy gas/wood stove - perfect for Oregon rainy weather - ceiling fan, DVD/TV player, ipod docking stereo, and all original artwork. It also has its own porch/deck with table, umbrella and chairs and gas grill for you to enjoy the outdoors. Wifi access of course!

Situated in the heart of downtown Eugene, it is an easy one plus mile walk to the University of Oregon and the Hult Performing Arts Center. One of the best bakeries in town - Sweet Life - is four blocks away. The Nest is located on the east/west bike path and is one block to a couple of different bus stops. We have easy out front parking and are conveniently located in a friendly, quiet and safe neighborhood. The Nest is artistic in its hand crafted details - a very relaxing and warm home away from home. We pride ourselves in its impeccable cleanliness - only green cleaning products are used. We also subscribe to the Green Power option of our local utility.

$85 per night for two people. There is an extra charge for more than two people. Weekly and monthly rates are available - please contact us for information. We are pet friendly - with extra cleaning fee and damage deposit.
Special rates apply for home U of O games, track events, and some festivals.

  • My partner and I had a lovely stay at the Nest. The place was perfect: clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, spacious enough for two, and centrally located. We briefly met Betsy, who was warm and welcoming. Great all around.

  • We had a lovely weekend with our sisters-in-law at the Nest. The space was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The queen bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect; walking distance to food, crafts and entertainment. Thank you Michael and Betsy! We will be back!

  • What a great home away from home! I was in Eugene for work for a couple of days, and it was so nice to come back to a true home each evening rather than a hotel room. Michael and Betsy have The Nest stocked with everything you need. I fixed dinner in one night and breakfasts as well. I also loved walking the neighborhood. It was a short walk down to restaurants and the patisserie. Thank you for sharing your comfy Nest!

  • We experienced a wonderful stay, with a great location, and congenial hosts at the Nest (once again). We hope that we can stay here next time we are in Eugene.

  • This was a very wonderful place to stay. Friendly hosts who welcomed, exceptionally clean and quiet, with an artistic ambience and a truly cozy, homelike feel. They thought of all the little details that make a place truly comfortable, even down to the odds and ends such as scotch tape and scissors. Lots of interesting books too! I will certainly stay here again when I visit Eugene in the future.

  • We visited Eugene for a reality check and apartment hunt before moving there. The Nest made the whole experience very easy; when we were tired at the end of each day it was wonderful to return to their comfortable and warm little nest to recharge. Michael gave us helpful restaurant recommendations, too. We enjoyed walking around the pleasant neighborhood where The Nest is located, and we left Eugene feeling that our reality check had proven very positive! Thanks to Michael and Betsy!

  • The Nest is a lovely cottage behind the DeHaven's home. It was a delightful place to stay, a home away from home. It is conveniently located to downtown, the fairgrounds, OU, and some pretty good restaurants. Michael came over to greet us not long after we arrived. He provided us with excellent advice regarding places to eat nearby. We will definitely stay there again!

  • We loved to The Nest and would stay there again without hesitation. It was so cozy and quiet and very close to Eugene's vibrant downtown. Betsy and Michael are easily contracted, but do not interfere with your privacy. Their little cottage is clean, warm, and inviting. This stay was in cold and rainy February, but we hope our next one will be in the lovely spring weather so we can use the patio.
