Our group of 3 adults and 2 children (aged 9 and 5) thoroughly enjoyed our 6-night stay at Marco's place in Sant' Alesso. The 3 bedrooms were well furnished and very comfortable, and we liked that there were two bathrooms to use (one upstairs, one downstairs). We were very happy to be staying out of Lucca itself - not only to be out in the country somewhat, but also afforded us opportunity to ride bikes (3 of which we hired from Marco) via Parco Fluviale into Lucca on two occasions. This was a relatively easy ride although there is a short distance of riding on a relatively busy, narrow road with no shoulder to get to Parco Fluviale, and again to get into Lucca from Parco Fluviale. Our kids really liked Marco's place as they could play outside in the gardens, explore the large property, and make a bit of noise. The villa is well suited for visits to Lucca, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Florence (which we didn't visit this time). Marco was really helpful at all times, answering questions and providing advice about what to see and where to park. He also gave us a big box of zucchinis and tomatoes freshly picked from his garden - we enjoyed fresh pasta sauce and stuffed zucchini flowers with these spoils.
We would totally recommend staying here and we hope to be back again!
Everything is really great.
The place was amazingly located. Just outside of Lucca so you get a taste of the Tuscan countryside and still the amenities of a "town".
Marco's dad provided us with some tomatoes right out of the garden when we arrived. The best I have ever eaten!
The place was really nicely put together and the backyard and pool were super pleasant. We were able to even grill in the backyard a few nights we were there.
Marco was super friendly and always was there when we had questions.
Oh my goodness! My sister, Jacquie, and I stayed at this marvelous Tuscany villa for 2 weeks and can not express the delightful time we had in a short manner. We brought our combined 4 children (husbands stayed home!) and had the time of our lives. It felt safe and was beyond charming. The kids loved swimming in the pool and Carlo (the friendly yet speaks no English caretaker) brought us squash blossoms and fresh butter lettuce. The 6 of us slept beautifully and lines and towels are provided. The city of Lucca is very close by and you can grab a train- easy. If 2 women from California with 4 kids can do it anyone can! Be patient and have a good attitude and Italy will embrace you. We plan on another visit in a year or 2 and will bring husbands so they can experience this special place. Marco, you went over and above any hosted house I have visited- sending back a forgotten mobile phone and tracking down my favorite cashmere store in Lucca..thank you from the bottom of my heart. ***you have my permission to repost this in(website hidden)as I do not have a(website hidden)acct. Forever grateful, Terri, Jacquie, Kaitlin, Molly, Colby and Jackson
Nice and clean place with a character, conveniently located for visiting Lucca, Pisa or Florence by car.
This House has 3 propper sleeping rooms, one with a large double bed, one with two separat bed, that can be moved and one with two beads over each other.
We enjoyed the fire, marco lit for us the day we arrived. But we could not manage to start it ourselves the next day.
Marco and his Father were very helpfull and quick, when the central heating did not work the last day. We had probabely ourselfs swiched it of on the controlpanell. So be carefull touching.
Lucca is nice for visiting, eating out and has many supermarkets. The village by the way has a good supermarket with fresh bread, chees, fruit as well.
Pisa is 21 km, Sienna 140 km and Firenze 70 km far.
We really enjoyed our stay. Marco, his sister and his Dad were fabulous and very helpful. They provided us maps of the area and suggested places to visit and eat. Marco was also great about taking us into town to get groceries when we arrived. I highly recommend this location and we would stay here again. Loved having the bikes to ride into town as well.
Marco, his sister, and father are absolutely lovely! We stayed here with six women for a 40th birthday celebration. The home fit us all perfectly and the two full bathrooms made getting ready in the morning quite easy. We sadly didn't get to use the pool, but the grounds are great and complement the accommodations. If you stay here and don't use the bikes you are missing out! Take them for a ride along the river and into Lucca.
Our kids LOVED this place!! The soccer nets and swimming pools along with the organic vegetables grown from the place, we were pampered with a real Tuscan life. The host is extremely helpful and welcoming! We would highly recommend this place to anyone!
My family and I stayed at the Beppe2 house for 4 nights and had a wonderful time! Nice clean house with a huge open yard in the back for my kids to run around. They have a nice above ground pool that my kids played in everyday. Marco's father was very kind and provided us with fresh lettuce and zucchini from their garden. We borrowed their bikes and rode along a nice trail along the river into the town of Lucca. A wonderful start to our trip! I will definitely stay here again when we visit Lucca on our next trip!
We had a lovely stay and Beppe2! The house is tipical of the area and has been renovated beautifully. Our host Marco and his father were really welcoming and helpful with advice on things to do in the area. Only 4km from town, it's just a short bike ride away and you get the tranquility of the city outscirts with a pool and gorgeous garden. Excellent value for money too!
