PLEASE NOTE: I am really looking for someone to sublet the first two weeks of June and all of August. I am also interested in 6 month lets from October and can negotiate fee for a longer stay.
Studio flat in central London with access to Borough and elephant & castle tubes. Walking distance to Southbank and Borough Market. Set on the top floor of a Victorian mansion block, this flat is comprised of a purpose built loft bed, with sofa bed underneath for an extra guest, cute kitchen and dining area. It looks out over a lovely quiet park. It is bright and airy, with art on the walls and full of books and nice things. As it is on the top floor there is even sneaky access to the roof, with views across London! But please note - there is no lift! There is a lovely, full size bathroom with warm shower, wireless internet.
It would ideally suit a couple on a budget looking to experience proper London living. I am not looking to make tons of money, so am looking for the right people. I work in the arts, love to travel and would love to house friendly people looking for an affordable home from home.
Nearest Tubes are Borough and Elephant and Castle, with London Bridge, Borough Market and The Shard in walking distance.
Looking for like minded people who are after an affordable to stay in central London, particularly interested in weekend letting please message me for more details. Prefer non-smoking!
Good location, close to trains and buses. Also a leisurely walk to the Thames and Big Ben and london eye.
However the apartment itself was very dirty, bathroom had been left with used towels and grotty soap and shower curtain. Toilet didn't flush properly, had to fill up a saucepan to tip down the toilet. Fridge was putrid, and stunk, didn't open after the first time.
A shame as if it was clean and presentable it would be a perfect spot. But it tainted our trip. Wouldn't recommend in the current state.
If a walking tour of London is your plan, then it should begin here! This flat is in the ideal location. Or, if seeing then sights from the top of a double decker bus is for you... that's here too. We did a little of both. Five minutes walk tops to a major bus hub, twenty to thirty at a leisurely pace and you're on the Thames! And walking day or night, the neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. The flat itself is compact, but doesn't feel cramped. There's plenty of room for a couple to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee (Italian espresso maker provided) and light breakfast in the morning, or that early evening meal after a full days adventuring. Remember, the flat is at the top of several flights of stairs. The bed was quite spacious and comfortable and as shown, is in a loft at the top of a ladder.
Overall, a great stay. London is beautiful and friendly and this was a great place to see it from. Thank you Ed! (Sorry we never actually met!)
Thank you Ed. for everything. His room is clean and with 2 giant windows, view of the garden. Close to everything: Supermarket (Tesco, Asian Supermarket) and another smaller supermarket that even open on X-mas day!... 5 mins to underground and bus stop. Full-equipped kitchen, Bathroom, 1 big bed and sofa are so convenient. Everything work out great. Ed answer message and phone call everytime we reached him. Wifi work perfectly. We have a great time at Ed's place. Looking forward to stay at his place next time I visit London!
I really couldn't have asked for a more perfect little flat for my trip to London. Ed is a fantastic host, very helpful and prompt responding to inquiries, and even left some info on local sight-seeing and food/shopping nearby. The flat's location was great, very close to Elephant and Castle AND Borough tube stations, and walking distance to Borough Market, London Bridge Station, and most other places on the South Bank. I'd highly recommend taking advantage of the buses, too, the stops for which are a block away from the flat and can get you almost anywhere you need to go, quickly and cheaply. The area is very diverse and quite busy with people, so I always felt safe, even as a single woman coming home in the evenings.
The flat itself is adorable, filled with wonderful books and beautiful and fun knick-knacks. I definitely felt cozy and comfortable while I was there, and always found some new little detail of decoration that I hadn't noticed before. I can't say enough good things about this flat and host, and hope you'll enjoy staying in it as much as I did!
We had a very nice stay in London. Ed was an excellent host and his flat is in a very convenient location, making this a good option for the budget traveler.
You would be hard-pressed to find a better location. Ten mins to borough market (which is an absolute must visit!), ten mins into town centre on train (if that). The bed was the most comfortable of our stay and the apartment has a great kitchen. It was so quiet at night and the heating and wifi were amazing! Ed himself was wonderful - went out of his way on more than one occasion to help us out with things external to the apartment - like travel and places to eat AND even left a bottle of wine in the apartment for us to celebrate our honeymoon! Highly recommend. Thanks Ed!!!
Ed has a fantastic flat and was a perfect host. He responded very promptly to all my questions and was extremely (email hidden)e flat was very cosy and clean, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with everything I needed. The heating was nice and warm and the shower was excellent. The location was also great - close to many bus lines and the Northern and Bakerloo lines to get whenever you want fairly easily. I highly recommend staying here when coming to London :)
