Staying with Martina and John was completely lovely. They were quick to invite us in for tea and chatting at every opportunity. They had tons of advice about what to do in Galway or other nearby places, and also set us off on bikes to find the local Dunsandle Castle and other points for a good morning.
The lodging was also impressive. They did a beautiful job with the renovation of the space, and the place was warm and cozy and clean.
Easy access to Galway and other western Ireland destinations. Don't tell our other previous hosts, but this was our favorite airbnb stay so far.
Martina is a wonderful host. Outstanding accommodations, delicious breakfasts and a beautiful location made our stay a memorable one. Her recommendations for local points of interest and restaurants helped us to make the most of our time in western Ireland. If you plan to be in the area, I would highly recommend a stay with Martina.
Our reception was overwhelmingly friendly. The description was very modest. The house was beautiful. Decorated very tastefully, very spacious. The family was warm and welcoming. We felt at home immediately. The driving instructions were perfect. And the advice we received from Martina was so thorough and interesting that she improved an already successful trip!
It's amazing, quiet and relaxing space. We really enjoyed it. Thanks to Martina and John who made our stay so comfortable and welcoming. They treated us like a family members:) The homemade breakfast was delicious. We will definitely come back again.
Amazing and so welcoming, Martina and John had tea and homemade brown bread on the table when we arrived. They recommended we go for a walk in the forest which was great and relaxing. We explored their home grounds also and got to meet the pet cow.... awesome!!! as I've never been as close to one before. The restored stable was beautifully designed. The bed was so so comfy and breakie was just right up my street. Thank you both for the hospitality and hopefully our paths will cross again in the future
Had such a pleasant experience in Athenrey. The cottage is beautiful with fabulous imported Italian furniture. Martina and John were both so helpful starting us off with a hearty breakfast and giving us lots of good tips of places to go. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Martina and John were so welcoming and warm. We were greeted with an offer for coffee and tea, which we accepted, but they also fed us delicious smoked salmon, cheese and brown bread. The breakfasts were generous and delicious and the room was gorgeous. Martina and John chatted to us and made us feel at home and gave us tips about the area and even lent me some wellie boots! It was wonderful!
