We had a wonderful experience in Old San Juan at this apartment. Bernardo and Irma met us at the apartment and made sure we had what we needed. They offered advice on restaurants, taxis, etc. The apartment was equipped with everything that we needed, including umbrellas! It is a great view and great location within walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants. We will definitely keep this apartment in mind for our next trip!
We stayed in Irma and Bernardo's apartment twice while in Puerto Rico. Each visit was perfect in every way. The apartment is clean and with so many amenities I wouldn't have considered like a water filter pitcher so I could fill up our reusable water bottles every day. I definitely recommend staying here and using it as your base camp for San Juan. I agree with the advice of not having a rental car during your stay - what a hassle.
We are bookending our Puerto Rican vacation in this fabulous Old San Juan apartment. Like all other reviewers have noted, this location can't be beat. We love walking and we're happy that all of the sights we wanted to see we're so accessible from the apartment. I loved sleeping with the comfort of an air conditioner and waking up to see the ocean across the street. If we were staying longer, the kitchen would have everything needed to make your own meals. Thank you Irma and Bernardo!
Bernardo and his wife were extremely accommodating, and very responsive to all our inquiries concerning the locality hub surrounding the cobble stone streets ofOld San Juan. This apartment is a gem stone located just steps from one of the two forts (San Cristóbal, San Juan Felipe de Morro). In addition the apartment is ideal and rich with history over seeing the Castillo de San Cristóbal fort and the town of La Perla (which exemplifies a tale of two cities). Its an adventure of mazes, tunnels, and barracks. I loved exploring both sides of the spectrum, it was a once in a life time experience for my young teenage daughter. Plenty to see while here from religious institutions (El Catedral) that dates back to more than 500 years. Art galleries are numerous and in abundance of history and its culture. Wow what more can I say, the beautiful beach of El Condado Beach Plaza is just a 10 minute ride via public transportation which cost only .75 cents per person. While there visit the food concession as the girls (sister) makes a mouth watering shish kabob while playing fine tune latin music. You don't need a car if you don't plan on traveling out of Old San Juan. You do need one if you plan on visiting Fajardo or loquillo beach. Taxi to Fajardo can range from $80-87 each way. There is a public transportation that can take you as far as Isla verde which is a 30-40 minute ride. Enjoyed the stay and Bernando & his wife were the perfect host and a match made in heave. La Isla mas bonita y la Isla de encanto, Que Viva!!!
The apartment is in a great location to explore old san Juan, we walked everywhere and loved how close it was to everything. Irma and Bernardo stopped by to check on us and were completely lovely. They gave us restaurant recommendations and told us where we could park our rental car (the nearby Dona fela garage was very reasonably priced). The only con is that the air conditioner is quite loud and woke us up in the night, so we just used the two fans which kept the room cool enough to sleep while being nice and quiet. The shower is quite nice with good pressure and hot water. We definitely recommend as a home base in San Juan!
Great host in beautiful little town. Aby and Victor are extremely welcoming hosts. The apartment is immaculate!
We loved the apartment. We stayed three nights. Exploring OSJ was a blast. The location was perfect. Touring the forts was fascinating. Excellent eateries and coffee shops all close by. We walked everywhere. The apartment was accurately described and very clean. There was some traffic noise...but we did not find it a problem. Overall we would recommend this place to anyone wanting to explore the old city.
Thanks Nicole for your review. We hope you enjoyed your stay. You are right , we have to change again the hinges. Being so near the ocean makes them get rusted very easily. We will be doing that as soon as we have a chance , it has been a busy season. Thanks again and hope you can return to San Juan .
