Our stay was pleasant- the location to all the cafes, shops, and restaurants was great. Good communication back and forth with owners and experienced no problems. Minor complaint: the air conditioner didn't seem to be working too well so the bedroom got a bit stuffy. Overall though, a great stay.
What you see is what you get- actually, what you get is BETTER! This location is absolutely the best there is in Old San Juan, hands down. The unobstructed view of the ocean is amazing, not to mention being able to see the beautiful historic fort just across the way as well. My husband and I were amazed to have this just a few steps outside our door. With a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, historic sights, and transportation just across the street, around the corner, or no longer than a 10 minute walk away, we really couldn't have picked a better place to stay. We rented a car for three days (we stayed for a week) and traveled all over Puerto Rico, and NOTHING beat the location of 420 Norzagaray. We were grateful to be able to "come home" to this apartment every day. (By the way, the parking structure Dona Fela is just a 5 minute walk away and open 24 hours. Inexpensive prices and never had a problem finding parking.) We always felt safe (there is police presence at all hours of the day) and street noise was never an issue when it was time for us to go to bed.
We were also lucky to meet Bernardo during our stay. He had great recommendations and is one of the nicest people you will meet. We never had any problem contacting him, and he made sure we had everything we needed.
We had an amazing time in Puerto Rico!
The space itself was so cute, just big enough for us 3 girls. It had everything we needed, even Styrofoam ice chest to bring to the beach. there is a fan and a unit in the apartment which we definitely used while we were there. They were so attentive and answered any questions we had. Bernardo called and gave recommendation on food and sight seeing...all well recieved. The location is great right next to Castillo San Cristobal. The neighborhood is nice we always felt safe and it is walking distance to everything in old san juan. We spent 8 days there and loved every one.
My wife and I could not have had a nicer stay at 420 Norzagaray. The location was amazing. So many good restaurants, cafes, and bars...and such a beautiful city! Irma and Bernardo were amazing hosts, very polite and accommodating. This place is truly a gem.
My boyfriend and I stayed at 420 Norzagaray in April and LOVED it. The place – exactly as pictured, very clean, and nicely situated among the colorfully painted houses in Old San Juan, walking distance to the restaurants, monuments, and nightlife. The apartment doors open onto a BEAUTIFUL, unmarred view of the ocean and San Cristobal. Our hosts – Irma and Bernado were extremely responsive and only a text away if we had any questions or concerns. Amenities – the apartment was outfitted with everything! The A/C unit was a wonderful reprieve from the heat, although it is a little noisy at night. During the day I suggest throwing open the windows and letting in the ocean breeze. Traffic noise – Calle Norzagaray is trafficked by cars, trolleys, and people throughout the day, but the noise did not bother us and it drops off as soon as it gets dark. Parking – park at Estacionamiento Doña Fela for s a short walk from the apartment. Enjoy your stay, we definitely did!
We had a wonderful experience in Old San Juan at this apartment. Bernardo and Irma met us at the apartment and made sure we had what we needed. They offered advice on restaurants, taxis, etc. The apartment was equipped with everything that we needed, including umbrellas! It is a great view and great location within walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants. We will definitely keep this apartment in mind for our next trip!
We stayed in Irma and Bernardo's apartment twice while in Puerto Rico. Each visit was perfect in every way. The apartment is clean and with so many amenities I wouldn't have considered like a water filter pitcher so I could fill up our reusable water bottles every day. I definitely recommend staying here and using it as your base camp for San Juan. I agree with the advice of not having a rental car during your stay - what a hassle.
