Interaction with Guests
We will interact with our guests as much as they would like. Yes, we will be at the house during visits by guests. l also like to chat with guests and help discuss sightseeing, restaurants and good pubs to visit!! We also make a delicious breakfast with quality ingredients, great fruit , coffee, tea, juice , bread and free range eggs direct from the farmer in Schull West Cork.
Our neighbourhood has a village feel although only minutes from the city centre. In the area there are some great pubs such as the landmark Henchys Pub. Also there is a wine bar, a delicatessen, a chemist, post office, a butcher and a Chinese restaurant. Most of the houses in our area are Victorian or Edwardian and accordingly are listed as an Area of Special Conservation.
Only 5 minutes from our house, there is a bus stop which takes you into the city centre if you do not want to walk the short distance! There is also a train station 10 minutes away which takes you to areas such a Cobh and Midleton, and has connections nationwide. One can get from the airport to our home by bus to the city centre or a taxi which would cost between 15 and 20 euro. Off street parking is also available at our home.

Fiona was easily available for us for the checkin, and gave us a warm and friendly welcoming. The house is beautiful and the room as described, spacious and comfortable! The breakfast was tasty and fun with Fiona and other guests. It was a real advantage for us to park our car in Fiona's parking, because parking is not free and time limited in Cork.
Fiona was very welcoming, pleasant to talk to and most knowledgeable with local restaurants ( as I am vegan ) and music events ( as I was interested in local live Irish and celtic music ). I got some very beautiful tips!
The house and my room was A M A Z I N G! very clean and elegant. Breakfast was very tasty, especially... Fiona's home made jams!
The view from the house is absolutely amazing and beautiful as the house is a little bit up the hill over the city, but also very close to the city center. (15 min walk)
Definitely coming back next time I am in Cork
Staying with Fiona was a pleasure for us - her house is beautiful and we awoke to terrific views overlooking Cork. Breakfast was wonderful and full of good conversation. She was incredibly accommodating and provided us with maps and great recommendations for exploring Cork. If you are looking to travel to Cork, I highly recommend staying with Fiona!
Fiona and her son gave us a warm welcome at the time which we agreed the day before. Fiona provided a lot of brochures and tips what to do and to see in Cork City. The spacious room was a little bit cold but Fiona turned on the heating and the room got warm. We shared the bathroom with 2 other persons who stayed one week at Fiona's house. In the morning we had to move their shower equipment (including a shaver) away from the bottom of the shower but maybe they didn't know that also other people stayed that night at the house. The breakfast was reach in variety (3 kinds of bread, boiled duck eggs, tea and coffee, homemade jam, ...) and we had a nice small talk with Fiona.
My boyfriend and I did not get a chance to speak with Fiona very much, as we arrived late and left early, but in the short time that we spoke to her she was very kind and welcoming and gave us great tips for getting around Cork. Her home was clean and cozy, and very close (within walking distance) to Cork city center. Should you find yourself in Cork, I definitely recommend staying here!
A recommander!
