Our neighbourhood has a village feel although only minutes from the city centre. In the area there are some great pubs such as the landmark Henchys Pub. Also there is a wine bar, a delicatessen, a chemist, post office, a butcher and a Chinese restaurant. Most of the houses in our area are Victorian or Edwardian and accordingly are listed as an Area of Special Conservation.
Only 5 minutes from our house, there is a bus stop which takes you into the city centre if you do not want to walk the short distance! There is also a train station 10 minutes away which takes you to areas such a Cobh and Midleton, and has connections nationwide. One can get from the airport to our home by bus to the city centre or a taxi which would cost between 15 and 20 euro. Off street parking is also available at our home.

Fiona was a very welcoming host. The location of the house is excellent for getting to the city centre easily.
Lovely big room with views over Cork Town - thanks for an easy stay! Lovely breakfast!
Fiona was there to greet us. I had to phone for directions as it was hard to find with the rabbit warren of streets. Once there we were shown to a big room on the top floor with a great view of the city. A great sleigh bed with comfy covers made for a great sleep. The shower was not great and didn't have great pressure. Breakfast was good and the coffee was the best we've had on our trip
The house was a bit difficult to find only because our GPS was not working in Cork. The map is a definite asset. It's a lovely home on a hill overlooking the city and it's only about a 10-15 min walk even though it may look further. Allow a bit more time coming home since that walk will be up hill.
The bedroom is very comfortable and spacious. You do share a bath with the other guest room. The house is really beautiful and Fiona is a great hostess with very good local knowledge. She makes a delicious breakfast. It was the first time I had ever had a duck egg! Very delicious and rich. We breakfasted with the guests of the other room and enjoyed the conversation with them and Fiona.
Definitely recommend visiting the English Market in town and, if you like beer, a tour of Franciscan Well Brewery. The pizza is fantastic.
Fiona gave us directions for our drive to Dingle which were much better than taking the most direct route. We saw beautiful countryside and are very appreciative of the guidance.
I would recommend staying here.
Fiona was a great host - very helpful from arrival and also before we arrived. She had great tips on what to do and see on Cork. The room was very spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was nice and the homemade jams were delicious. Location is a close walk to town and the free off street parking is an added bonus.
Fiona's home was very nice, clean, and well located within a short walk to the city. She was very helpful and made herself available to any needs. She also provided breakfast each morning with a batch of very good homemade jams and jellies. We recommend a stay with her.
