  • If you get a chance to stay here, do it!! Shelley is very nice and friendly and made us feel welcomed! This guesthouse is very centrally located, we barely ever took the freeway (meaning no LA traffic jams) and it is literally 20 minutes to most locations such as Venice, santana monica, and hollywood. She also served home baked good for breakfast with little jams and cheese and she brings juice and freshly ground coffee!! Seriously treys you just like family! Oh also, she is a foodie and has a restaurant list that I'd advise you to follow! Thank you for an amazing stay Shelley!

  • Another great experience on our return stay! Shelley is really personable and always goes the extra mile to make our stay pleasant. Cottage is fully stocked with everything you'll need, not to mention a well-balanced breakfast provided every morning. Will definitely stay again!

  • Shelley is wonderful host. Guest house was super clean, breakfast was delicious(!), the street is quiet, parking on the street is free and easy. Shelley and her husband were very frendly and helpful and they made my first stay in LA easy and comfortable.

  • Shelley has made a very nice home away from home. It is definitely a better choice than a hotel. The host's extra touches like including breakfast of good coffee and homemade jams makes the stay all the more pleasant. I also enjoyed the calm garden surroundings around the cabin.

  • Our stay at Shelley's guest house was absolutely wonderful! Everything was sparkling clean! We looked forward to our daily breakfast tray to see what the latest goodies would be! Everyday we dined on fresh cut-up fruit, breads/muffins & homemade preserves (made by her father) which were outstanding! I would make fresh coffee for myself and Fred would have the juice that Shelley provided. We would have the different cheeses with the different muffins/breads. We also appreciated having the yogurt/applesauce. There was unpeeled fruit that we could take with us on our daily adventures around LA. The breakfast was filling enough that we only had to eat one other meal later in the day. We always had a good night's sleep on the wonderful bed. All was quiet & peaceful in Shelley's lovely courtyard that the guesthouse opened up to. We liked hearing the catbird singing away every morning.

  • The guesthouse was lovely and perfect for two. It was also super clean, which my allergies appreciated. Shelley was an excellent host and her homemade pastries and jam were absolutely fantastic! Overall, an excellent stay.

  • Shelley was wonderful and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. She provided a wonderful tray of fruit, jams and homemade breads for breakfast. She is so personable and kind. The place is just like the picture, and the garden is wonderful. You can hear the water features in the garden while going to sleep, which may be hard for some (I guess?) but was absolutely heaven to me. Shelley left me handwritten notes which I appreciated and was very easy to communicate with prior to check in. The place is very spacious. I think the only downside for some people is that the shower is an odd shaped small area and the shower curtain kept getting in the way, but I don't find that particularly bothersome. Would definitely recommend to other travelers...I just wish I was able to explore more of the list of fun things to do!

  • The apartment is really nice, with included breakfast and parking it's a great deal. Would definitely stay again. Our baggage was delayed, Shelley was very helpful with arranging a time for the courier to drop off the baggage and making sure we enjoyed LA

  • Shelley is an amazing host. The cottage is super clean and cute. Awesome garden too. Highly recommend, although I want to keep it a secret for myself. And she even got gluten free baked goods for us!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Shelley's guesthouse for 2 nights and it was perfect. We had our own entrance through the gate at the end of the driveway, so we didn't have to worry about what time we came back. There isn't a stove at the guesthouse, but there is a toaster oven, refrigerator, and microwave. The bed is out-of-this-world comfortable and the pastries and jams Shelley provides for breakfast are so yummy! Our favorite part of our stay was having breakfast in the backyard. I saw some hummingbirds back there and the water features make the setting that much more serene and peaceful. The flowers back there smell amazing! There is a Starbuck's within walking distance, but other than that, I would recommend having a car if you're staying there. A great bonus was that we were able to park our rental car in the driveway so we didn't have to worry about street parking. Shelley has a great book with fun things to do (that she has actually done and recommends) in the area which we found helpful. I would definitely recommend the guesthouse and look forward to staying there again on future trips.
