Interaction with Guests
I live on-site and would love to be there to greet you and guide you in your stay, when I'm not off at my community garden nearby!
The neighborhood can be hard to find, for some, but we think it's a total gem - not downtown proper, so parking is a cinch, but within walking distance of most of the epic sites like Sun Studio and Stax. The street is quiet and surrounded by local nonprofits like the Memphis Interfaith Association and the Memphis Food Bank. We'd love to do a voluntour, if you're interested in giving back while you're here!
We know you're going places and we love to help you get around! We've got tons of on-site parking for the drivers out there. If you're on foot, the house is within a few blocks of eight different bus lines, 1.5 miles from downtown, 0.4 miles from the trolley and just a short ways to catch the free shuttle to Graceland from Sun Studio! We also highly recommend Lyft, which just rolled out in Memphis :)
Other Things to Note
PLEASE, oh please bear with us, as I just moved into this place and it’s over 100 YEARS OLD. My wonderful friend Andy is my partner in crime as an innkeeper, and we're still getting the hang of things. He's got an adorable dog, Bentley who might come visit, as well. One day we hope to turn the house into a nonprofit center, so any support you give us gets us closer to changing this city for the better!
Smoking is completely cool outside on our spacious front porch and pets are allowed, as long as they're cuddly and you clean up after them if they have accidents ^_~
Jamie is awesome! Our morning chats while we enjoyed her fantastic breakfast were great.
And the house is so beautiful and comfortable.
It has been a marvelous experience in Jamie's house.
We recommend it for sure!
This was my first Airbnb experience and I was a little unsure of what to expect. The thing I found most helpful was the great contact I had with Jamie once I booked the room and leading up to my stay. She was great about replying back to my texts and answering all my questions. Her house is exactly as described and she made us feel very comfy & welcome. I was a little worried about the dog and sharing the bathrooms but I never heard a peep out of the dog and if you weren't interested in petting her she would not bother you. There were 2 bathrooms right by each other and never once were they both full so it was never a problem. The house is very quiet and smelled great when we walked in. I would agree with other comments that I read about walking to Beale Street during the day & riding a taxi back at night. It was a good 25 minute walk to Beale street and I would not want to do that at night. We took taxi's back home & it would cost $10 tip and all. All in all my first experience was a good one & I can't thank Jamie enough. Make sure to get a burger at Earnestines & Hazels - you will be scared when you walk in but you won't be sorry - I will crave those burgers for the rest of my life.
Jamie has created a very cool, very interesting, welcoming home. I enjoyed my stay and would love to come back again. Unfortunately, I arrived fairly late, and left early the next day and didn't get to meet Jamie. Maybe next time. From her place, I just know she'd be fun to meet & interesting to talk with.
Jamie was an excellent host, the room was exactly as described. She made the best pancakes for breakfast and was incredibly nice and helpful.
Jamie is a very good hostess. The house is very clean and in a very good location.
A taxi from the city center costs US$ 5,00.
I had a very good experience
The home has ambiance that is both eclectic and comfortable in an urban setting (safe by the way), a mile and a half from Downtown Memphis. The room was clean, cool (temp) and quirky with snacks (Moonpies and Cracker Jacks). Jamie's home and her style are everywhere.... She treats everyone; guests and those in the community, really well. Wish I had more time to stick around to hear her story. I'd recommend this to those looking for a stay outside the box and those who enjoy interacting with others!!!

About the Host, Jamie
I once sat on a poisonous caterpillar. So if you are a poisonous caterpillar, I'd watch yourself around me. Otherwise, I'm a big goof and love to fuss over people :)
