About This Listing
Couldn't be better!! My home is on the corner of Bedford Ave and Grand St.. Trendy Central of the Universe!! It is perfectly located to everything: restaurants, bars, live music, coffee houses, shopping, galleries and two new cinemas. NightHawk (you can eat and drink!! while watching a film!) and Indiescreen .. Drink Absinthe and eat oysters , get cheap and delicious dumplings at Vanessa's , hang with the regulars at IONA Irish Bar.
I have opened a nice upscale cocktail bar on the ground floor .. the apartment is on the 3rd floor.. 2 floors above the bar) .. I have soundproofed and the music levels will not be so crazy , I'll be living above the bar!!! .. Sunday - Wednesday the bar will quiet down around 1 am .. Thursday - Saturday the bar will be open til 4 am but again the music and noise ends around 2 - 3 am ..
also .. the bass of the music will be reduced around 1 am ..
so far the guests haven't been affected or complained about any noise / disturbance from the bar .. it's ok .. you can read the reviews from November on.
plus .. you should plan to come down for a nightcap on me!!!
it's a really nice cocktail bar ..
I'd say from now on .. the apartment would be better suited to people who are more late nighters or at least wouldn't mind some low level noise ..
it's a great spot .....
2 bedroom apartment all to yourself. .. Each bedroom can sleep two ..there are two Queen sized mattresses, lots of light .. lots of space, exposed brick but not working fireplace. Sleeps 4 but not more. Clean linens and towels and professionally cleaned before check in.
The shower has great water pressure.. a necessity in life I believe. The kitchen is fully equipped. free WI-FI.
No Smoking or Candles or Parties, please thanks.

Interaction with Guests
I don't really interact with the guests. If you need something.. I'm there, I live in the building. you get your keys and it's very private..
about a 7 minute walk directly down Bedford Ave to the L train one stop into Brooklyn from Manhattan ..
no smoking or extra guests, no pets. no drugs or parties!!! thanks
I agree to all previous reviews so I'll keep it short.
- The apartment is great located with about 5 min walk to the L-train and all stores and restaurants the neighbourhood has to offer.
- My tip is to walk in all directions from the apartment to discover all of Williamsburg - which is as hip, safe and relaxed as said to be.
- The bedrooms have queen sized beds that is spacious enough for two friends to share.
- We were never disturbed by the street noise.
- Easy communication with Kristina and quick check-in/out.
We spent over a week at Kristina's apartment. It was exactly as listed. If you want Williamsburg, you can't get a better location; right in the centre of things. It's also nice that it's a private building. Kristina was welcoming and accommodating, rushed over from her studio to let us in when we arrived a little earlier than expected. We had some issues with the internet, but she responded immediately by text and found solutions. The apartment's furnishings and provisions are a mixture of funky/creative and cheap/dumpy, and it can get stuffy (thankfully there is air conditioning). It's all fine, really, but you probably wouldn't want to stay here to spend a lot of time hanging out inside. Considering the level of noise on the street, the apartment is pretty quiet, especially in the living room/kitchen. If you like to sleep with the window open you are likely to need earplugs. But hey, what do you want? You are at the centre of a really vibrant neighbourhood, with superb restaurants, shopping, walking, and a nearby (7 - 8 minute walk) subway from which Manhattan is one stop away.
Thanks Kristina. The place was fantastic, very spacious and right in the heart of Williamsburg. Thanks also for being so accommodating with arrival/departure times.
Kristina's apartment was just perfect for our family of 4 (very tall people). It was as described and everything you could want is on your doorstep.
Kristina herself was a fabulous host and made us feel at home and ensured we had everything we needed including the air-conditioning - it was very warm in New York last week! She was kind enough to let us check in early and out late for our evening flight of JFK.
The only noise you can hear from the street is when the windows are open and that noise is mainly from garbage trucks or the odd bus. We were not bothered at all by the bar.
The location to transport is also perfect with 2 subway stations and the East River Ferry within a few minutes walk.
Stay here, you will not regret it!!!
Everything is perfect!!!

About the Host, Kristina
I am super lucky to have bought my building in 1997. I love Williamsburg, it's truly my home. I am a welder/artist/metalsmith .. you can see my work all over the neighborhood as you walk around.. Which you will be doing !! there is so much to see and do here. My studio where I weld is in Bushwick..another interesting neighborhood. My building is typical Williamsburg two apartments over a storefront...it was built in 1900 and has been renovated many times since. I have tenants on the third floor, so safety and consideration is important. I have rented and sublet my apartments out since 1997 .. This is my first venture into airbnb so we'll see how it goes.
I love to travel and have been all over the world. Cambodia to Costa Rica.. I spent a semester in Florence in 1988!! I was hooked. I've stayed in youth hostels, BnB's and Luxury Hotel Resorts.. it's all good. I think renting an apartment would be a great thing to try.. haven't done it yet, so maybe this will inspire me!
