This was a continued stay from my previous one.
Geo is a good host. She was extremely welcoming and accommodating, especially considering the changes that were made on my end. I went away for one evening, and Geo was gracious enough to let me leave my things at her place, which was extremely convenient and helpful to me. The room was a bit cold, but she offered me use of a space heater, which worked extremely well.
The location is only 3 stops away from Syntagma Square, a central area of Athens, and 4 stops from the Acropolis. It takes about 30 minutes to walk, if you fancy that. Five minutes from the train station and several amenities in the area (although I did not eat in the area).
On a completely honest standpoint, the place is not new, so do not expect it to be spotlessly clean or perfect. In fact, it is on the dirtier side.
The bed is a sofa bed so you can feel the springs underneath. The shower head needs to be held when you shower (apparently a common phenomenon in Greece) and the water flooded the bathroom floor one night. There were some hairs on the bed/blankets.
The internet was spotty at times (meaning, worked most of the time, but the last day it didn't work at all). The toaster oven works, but was hard to figure out at first. When I first arrived there was no toilet paper, but she brought some home as soon as I messaged her about it. No paper towels or hand towels. Washer was never empty for use. Elevator didn't work, so be ready to climb up two flights of stairs.
The neighbors can be quite noisy, so there was a lot of stomping going on upstairs and a lot of yelling in the hallway and next door. I don't know if this was isolated to the fact that it was a holiday weekend when I arrived, but it was still loud. Usually stopped by 10 PM though.
The area itself is safe, but I would be careful walking to and from the center of Athens. There are some seedy streets on the way.
Georgiana was a really generous and welcoming host, plus the room is very comfortable and spacious. Right next to Metaxourghio station and only 10 minutes from the foot of the Acropolis too!!
Georgiana is a lovely and friendly hostess. The place is very central and most attractions are within 45 minutes of walkable distance. Well worth the price.
Georgiana is a warm and gracious host. Her apartment just a couple of blocks from both a subway station and a hop-on/hop-off bus stop. Georgiana's place is an excellent alternative to costly hotel.
As we had only one night in Athens,we decided to go for a room near the center,so we could see a little bit of the city in few hours.
Georgiana's home is situated in a really good place. From there, you can go anywhere with the metro.
On the other hand,Georgiana is a great person: she was at our disposal for everything we needed(and we really had a lot of questions,as we wanted to do many things in one day!) and we thank her a lot.
Georgiana is a quick responding, helpful, and well organised host. Her place is perfectly located, not far away from the centre and very close to the metro station.
Georgiana was a great hostess. Warm & friendly, she said make yourself feel at home, and she meant it! Her place is well-situated in Athens and she gave great directions getting there. It is about a 5 minute walk to the nearest Metro stop, which is only a couple of stops from the Acropolis. There's a nice bakery nearby and a few little convenience stores also. Her place is cosy and there is a balcony where you can relax just before or after hitting the streets of Athens! All-in-all, a very lovely stay in Athens. I would stay again if
I had a lovely stay at Georgie's place I felt right at home and she was very flexible and sweet about all my traveling anxiety and confusion. I'd highly recommend!
