The apartment is in an 19th century restored building, along one of the most fashionable street of the city, and the oldest neighborhood, Rione Monti, just right on its side. The possibility to live the two souls of Roma, La Grande Bellezza!
Ciao! I’m Alice, I’m 32, I’m a free lance journalist. I live in a nice apartment in the ANCIENT HEART of Roma: Rione Monti. Close to almost everything: Termini station, Esposizioni's Palace, Quirinale Palace, Venezia square, COLOSSEO, Foro Romano... sorrounded by every CONNECTION you like: bus, train, subway, taxi, bike/scooter/car sharing and rental.
I often move by foot.
The apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and one common area: a living room / kitchen with tv and breakfast corner. I travel a lot so: only for you there's one LARGE DOUBLE ROOM with PRIVATE BATHROOM (and a typical italian whirpool ;-) but when I'm out of Rome it's available also MY smaller BEDROOM (with bathroom outside the room). Around the house there're PICTURES by my brother, young emergent artist (look for Jacopo Rinaldi portfolio).
In front of us, a typical italian FIRE STATION, builded in 1933!
You SHARE the apartment with me or other guests.
Guest have access to living room / tv and kitchen / breakfast corner. I serve a first "WELCOME BREAKFAST", then the guests are free to have it as they wish. Anyway a COFFEE MOKA will always be ready on the hot plate.
Interaction with Guests
This is my home, my presence during a guest's stay depends on my normal LIFE (work, study, family, friends...)
About my neighborhood i love that if you just cross Via Nazionale, full of people and trendy shops, you enter in a PARALLEL UNIVERSE, the ancient part of Rome where there's silence, nice shops, markets, little streets and squares and the Colosseo's view just in the background (you can see it especially walking on Via Dei Serpenti).
PUBLIC TRANSIT is everywhere:
BUS stop just downstairs
2 METRO stations: Repubblica, line A, (it's the closest, at the beginning of Via Nazionale, up to the big rounded square with a fountain in the center), Cavour, line B, (going straight inside Rione Monti).
TAXI station is just outside the building.
The PARKING situation is the weak point: being the ancient part of Roma, Rione Monti is protected by a limited traffic system that is very uncomfortable for who has a car without permession to enter: the closest parking area is in Piazza della Repubblica and it's little.
On the contrary if you have a RENTAL CAR you can get into and Via Genova is a near and good street to park.
There's also the CAR SHARING option and its parking is very close: Via Venezia.
Other Things to Note
The photos are a bit changed: go back to 2 years ago when the house was really new! Now it's full of objects from my grandma's house. In the living room there's "the corner of books": if you like, take an italian book, as a different souvenir :)
CHECK-IN and OUT times are flexible, it means that we can decide them. So tell me your plan and I will try to satisfy it.
I allow PETS.
I don't have rules against SMOKING because I'm a smoker (only tobacco, less smelly). Anyway I love to keep the rooms always aerated and ask you to do the same. If you aren't smokers please tell me and I'll avoid smoking in the areas in common. Grazie.
Ottimo appartamento in palazzo elegante nel cuore di Roma. Molto silenzioso!!! Principesco il bagno con vasca per relax. Host molto disponibili e accomodanti. Da consigliare!
Alice apartament is awesome! Perfect location, the room is very nice, the bed is confortable and the bathroom is great.
Alice was also very helpful giving us tips on where to eat and special event in Rome during our stay. Thanks very much for everything we'll definitely will like to repeat next time we are in Rome!
Really good place and strongly recommend, just home feeling and close to everything :-)
We highly recommend to stay at Alice&Gabriele's place. We enjoyed our stay in Rome due to the very nice and clean flat and it's very good location. Unfortunately we didn't met Alice but she was always available. Gabriele was also very kind and helpful. The kitchen was very good equipped.... There is everything you need in case you want to prepare something in the kitchen ... And thedonalso offer coffee and breakfast stuff.
All nice places (colloseum/ trevi/...) are nearby and easy to find.
We also enjoyed the jacuzzi :-) it was amazing and relaxing after day running through Rome ;)
You and your place made my birthday very special. Grazie mille
Thank you again for the nice stay.
Amazing place, great reception. If you wanna go to Rome, this is the place to stay. They super attention with your needs and great people. Thanks again guys.
The apartment has perfect location, it is close to all sightseeing. Very clean, absolutely comfortable and quiet room with the separate, luxurious bathroom and all appliances you may need.
There was coffee set up for us every morning.
It was our first experience through airbnb and thanks to Alice it was a good one.
Thanks for her hospitality!
We absolutely loved our stay at Alice's place. Let\s break it up:
The apartment is perfectly located; it's approx. 15 minutes on foot from the Termini station, so for us there was no need to look for public transport or taxi after we arrived from Ciampino airport. There was only 10 minute walk from the apartment to the Piazza Venezia, which w as the central point of the Rome for us. Also, good and affordable restaurants nearby (in the Monti area).
Very clean, our room was spacious and had everything we needed. We loved our separate bathroom (very well equipped!) with jacuzzi, we felt like we were at a 5-star hotel at times. The kitchen - not big, but very functional, with all appliances we might need. We absolutely loved the vintage elevator and the building itself - it felt like an elegant, stylish apartment house from the XIX century. We were a bit afraid that the nearby fire-station would be noisy, but nothing like this happened. The WiFi signal was moderate, whenever I needed to gave stronger signal, I preferred to go to the kitchen (where the router is) and work there.
We didn't get to see Alice much, but we felt her presence :) Every day, there was an espresso maker ready to go on the kitchen table. Alice would leave us some snacks, toasts, she would occasionally fill up our shelf in the fridge... It felt like a very authentic experience, not comparable to getting up in a soul-less hotel for a much higher price. Also, Alice was very helpful - I won't get in too many details, but we had some problems (unrelated to the apartment) and Alice helped us to solve them, for which we are very grateful. Finally, there was no problem in setting the meeting time and getting our keys. To sum up - Alice is very welcoming and her very personality makes this place a catch.
ciao Pawel grazie for your review and your advices, I had just finished writing my review but Airbnb makes me not able to send it. strange, because usually they warn me in advance. anyway this was. ciao!
it was a pleasure hosting Pawel and Justyna, although we didn't meet much. they are those types of tourists.. tireless! coming out in the morning and return in the evening, impossible to meet (I usually be at home in the afternoon). in any case we wrote each other much, so for sure they're exquisite guests, kind, polite, open and respectful of the house. ciao!
