Lani and John are wonderful hosts and the Casa Carizia is delightful. Each morning we enjoyed a great breakfast sitting on their lovely veranda, with views across the valley to the hill villages opposite. Lani was exceptionally generous and made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived, and John was also kind, interesting and very helpful. They really did think of everything and were fantastic hosts.
We found Lani and John to be superb hosts! Their beautiful home and the accomodation was spiritually uplifting! The atmosphere was very peaceful and conducive to getting a good rest. We especially enjoyed the view from their house which overlooks Sezze old and new town - and of course the olive grove! The accomodation was extremely clean and well laid out. Lots of thoughtful touches too! We will be returning later this year.
Lani and John showed us several very good restaurants nearby, interesting places to visit and of course Latina's shopping malls are a must! Beautiful clothes, shoes and handbags. The local markets are also interesting where you can find vintage and new clothing and of course fresh produce, cheeses and lovely local wine.
We visited San Felice Cerceo on the coast and well worth the visit - fish restaurants with excellent service and food. The old town was especially enchanting with superb views over the Latina coastline.
All in all a wonderful treat - with Rome just an hour away - should you want the hustle and bustle of the city.
We have many fond memories of our trip to Casa Carizia in the olive grove and highly recommend you consider visiting if you are looking for the real Italy! 5 STARS to John and Lani!!
About the Host, Lani
English/Italian living in Sezze and London. Own property in both and also am an accountant for UK clients. Sell our olive oil in UK and also starting B & B in Sezze. Enjoy theatre in London and eating in Italy! Starting using airbnb when doing our USA West Coast trip last year and it was great - much better than hotels. Did'nt meet any hosts though as we booked whole houses & apartments. Look forward to meeting some interesting people now we are hosting ourselves.
