Welcome to historic Gastown in Vancouver! This entire apartment includes a queen size bed, well equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, wifi, 10ft high ceiling, laundry, dryer, and more. Very cool spot!
The location of the apartment-studio is in the heart of Gastown a developing and up-and-coming urban zone. It's Vancouver's newest and
coolest hotspot with so many great restaurants and shops to visit.
The studio is kept very clean, well furnished, and beautifully simple. The kitchen is very functional and great for any sort of cooking. A gas fireplace is ready for cold weather, and a portable air conditioner for the hot days. The big windows will make sure you have plenty of sunshine and air. Crab Park, a hidden gem, is just north of the train tracks which has a small stone-beach, plenty of greenspace, and a beautiful view of North Vancouver.
If you need to work or do some research about Vancouver you can take advantage of the WiFi internet and table. Hopefully this space will inspire you a little!
There is no parking available in the building but free street parking is available nearby.
Interaction with Guests
I will be away, but a neighbour will help you with the keys and any questions you may have.
Gastown is very cool. There are many great designer shops in this area, the newest and coolest restaurants, nightlife, historical, and cultural sites. Chinatown, Downtown Waterfront, and Stanley Park are all walking distance away.
The studio is seconds away from downtown Vancouver and transportation hubs such as Waterfront Station (Skytrain, Canada Line, and Seabus), Amtrak Cascade and Greyhound bus station. Many city bus routes are available nearby as well.
Welcome to your studio! As you settle in to the space you will find the familiarities of a home. With these instructions you can guide yourself through some of the not-so-familiar operations of the studio.
Laundry - The Washer and Dryer are in the closet in the hallway. Feel free to go ahead and use some of the detergent. In the west coast the water is a bit softer so you only need 50% of the recommended amount of detergent normally used. Otherwise the clothes have a strong detergent smell if you use too much.
Kitchen - The induction stove is a bit tricky. To turn on the stove touch-and-hold for 3 second the ( | ) button. You will hear a tone and red digits. Touch the “up” arrow to increase power, “P” for full power. To turn off the burner touch the “up” and “down” arrows at the same time. “0” represent no power (off), “P” represents full power. A comfortable heat for frying is “6.5”. Touch ( | ) to turn off the stove. The induction stove only works with steal items, no aluminum.
Music - The Hi-Fi Stereo in the cabinet is has a light-grey remote control. Press MD/Tape for Auxiliary input for your iPod or Device. Plug in the device to the black mini-headphone cable on top of the cabinet. Please don’t turn the music up too loud as it may disturb the neighbours :) Turn off the stereo when you’re (website hidden) - The TV operations are normal and the Apple TV is fairly straight forward. Apple TV has podcasts for local news and TED Talks. There are some movies in the My Movies section for your viewing pleasure. Sorry, there is no DVD player.
Bathroom - The bathroom floors are heated automatically throughout the day so no need to adjust settings. The rest of the bathroom is pretty straight-forward I hope.
Fireplace - The switch to the fireplace is on the left hand side of the fireplace. Make sure you turn it off before leaving for a long period of time :)
Portable Air Conditioner - This item is located near the front door in the bi-fold closet. You need to set the exhaust tube out the window and plug in the unit.
Garbage & Recycling - If the garbage gets full there is recycling and trash at the bottom of the stairs to the right. Go downstairs toward the back of the buidling. At the bottom there is a garbage room to your right. Make sure you bring the keys to get back inside!
Toilet Paper - These are located in the laundry room but there should be a small stock in the bathroom.
Lights & Baseboard Heat - Please turn all lights off before leaving. Energy costs in BC are high, and wasting is terrible :)
Vacuum and Mop - In case there is a spill there is a mop and vacuum cleaner in the Laundry Closet which detaches from the door. The accessories are in the hanging bag. The mop bucket is in the bathroom.
We hit the jackpot with Hayato's awesome Gastown apartment. The space is clean and beautifully decorated. The neighborhood is amazing and the apartment is a couple blocks away from some of the best food and drinks i have ever had. If you are contemplating a stay in Vancouver, pick this one.
Hayato has a great, tidy, and stylish apartment in a perfect, central location. It's also next to some great coffee, and a few doors down from a steady supply of fresh BC oysters! I will definitely look to Hayato next time I'm in Vancouver!
What can I say but wow! Hayato's place is amazing, stylish and homely all at the same time. We were met by his lovely Mother and she couldn't do enough to ensure we were happy and knew where everything was. Hayato's place is ideally located in a great part of the town and my partner and I loved it . I wish we could have stayed there longer. Thanks Hayato :-)
I stayed in Hayato's place for 5 nights on vacation and had a great time staying in his studio loft. The unit was clean and the interior was incredibly designed and well furnished. It can get a little noisy at night in the alley that the unit backs onto but that would be the only caveat. The unit is in a great location in Gastown which had plenty of interesting restuarants and shops. Overall, it was a great place to stay.
Hayato's Gastown Loft was a wonderful base for our recent trip to Vancouver. The Loft was clean, cool, and conveniently located in walking distance to some amazing coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Although Hayato was out of town the day of our arrival, his mother was there to greet us and answer any questions we might have had. Furthermore, Hayato was kind enough to leave us maps of the city, as well as brochures on all of the fun things to do in the city. I would definitely recommend staying here on your next trip to Vancouver.
Excellent location, near good bars and restaurants, and convenient to skytrain. Also a great space, roomy and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. Would love to stay again the next time I'm in Van.
What an awesome AirBnB experience! Hayato's studio was a brand new loft in gas town. It was beautifully furnished and the location couldn't have been better. And Hayato himself is a super considerate host. Thanks for letting me stay!
