Large, custom built home with “perfect” location. Musk Ox House offers privacy and the tranquility of nature on a forested lot, but is still close to all of the cultural opportunities of this unique sub-arctic city. Just a 2 minute drive to the University, the Museum of the North, and the Georgeson Botanical Gardens. A 10 minute drive to the airport, downtown Fairbanks, several breweries, distilleries, and marijuana shops, live music, grocery stores, and numerous restaurants……

The space
The house itself has 3 bedrooms, a modern kitchen with stove, microwave, and cooking utensils. 17’ high cathedral ceilings, an open floor plan, an indoor balcony, hardwood oak floors, and a woodstove make this a comfortable stay. You can sit next to the woodstove and watch the northern lights through 200 square feet of windows overlooking a 100 year old farm (LARS). This creates an Alaskan ambiance that most people can only dream of.

Where you’ll be

Fairbanks, Alaska, United States

Musk Ox House directly borders the University Large Animal Research Station (LARS) so you can watch caribou and muskox from the comfort of the house. The historic and scenic Scarland Trail passes through the property also, so you can walk or cross country ski on miles of trails accessed directly from the back door. A large back porch offers a comfortable place to hang out and “groove out” with nature, or to watch the northern lights. Moose and fox are common visitors to the grounds.
