A charming 19th century winemaker's house with private garden, offering modern comfort and rustic charm by the centre of Nissan-lez-Enserune, a popular Languedoc village surrounded by vineyards, beaches, Roman ruins, castles and lots of family fun.

The space

La Vigne de Villiers is a newly-renovated 19th century winemaker's house in the medieval village of Nissan-lez-Enserune, offering modern comfort with rustic charm for 8 guests. The spacious home of 180 m2 benefits from a 50 m2 open plan living space and a connected ground floor studio of 40 m2, both opening on to a 200 m2 garden. The house is ideally located on a road just a stone's throw from the village centre where guests can buy local food and wine throughout the week.

With beaches, vineyards, canals and Roman ruins surrounding the village, you have everything you need for a perfect holiday stay, whatever pace of vacation you are looking for. Within a short drive, a number of golf courses, water parks, karting and other fun family activities are easily accessible; and within an hour, historical centres such as Béziers, Narbonne and the fortified city of Carcassonne enchant guests with the local Cathar history.

For some, the village market which runs 3 times a week, the wine tasting at France's oldest wine cooperative and the walks to the local windmills for breathtaking views out to sea will be perfect, for others a day trip to Barcelona might be more suited. At the right time of year, guests can even enjoy the ski slopes of the Pyrenees.

With numerous airports, a railway line from Paris to Barcelona and main car routes nearby, Nissan is the perfect base for an extended stay in the beautiful Languedoc region.

This house is a dream come true for us, and one which we would like to share with you after we fell in love with the region during a holiday in the region ourselves.

We expect our guests to enjoy their stay in this wonderful part of France, and to treat and care for the home as if it were their own. However, we would like to clearly state that we do not allow pets or smoking inside the house.

Also, we kindly ask that dishes are cleaned (dishwasher tablets provided), the barbecue grill is cleaned (using supplied barbecue cleaner), garden furniture covers are replaced, and that rubbish and barbecue ashes are disposed of before leaving the house. A tidy house also helps us a lot with the cleaning which is included in the rental charge as well as the laundry.

Any items which are moved during the stay should be replaced before departure and the security of the should be in the same state as it was at your arrival. This means that all doors and windows should be closed, the electric shutters should be closed, all external doors should be locked, the gate should be locked, and all keys should be returned to their original key safes, with the codes scrambled so that they key safes cannot be opened.

Shresh and Tatiana's home is lovely and in a great location. We were looking for a setting in a small town where we could walk to buy freshly baked bread each day. Shresh and Tatiana were great communicators. They have thought of all the amenities needed for a care-free holiday. We were looking for a home that could comfortably accommodate four people. One of the members of our group has mobility issues so the first floor studio was perfect! If you are considering traveling to this region, I would highly recommend this home as your base.

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home to us. The moment we walked in it felt like home. The home is even better in person.Such a great combination of old school with modern amenities. Everything was thought of and the amount of communication from start to finish through email and all the information prior to arriving and the binders at the house was so helpful. The patio was fantastic for family drinks and dinner. The town of Nissan is lovely and such a great location to drive to other cities and beaches. We were sad to leave and hope to return one day. We look forward to seeing the future changes. Thank you for making our trip to France so memorable. Out of all the places we stayed at over our 2.5 week vacation between Spain and France your home was the favourite of our whole entire group.

The house and the location themselves were really amazing. For having breakfast we just used the big table in the yard in front of the house. We found a very well-appointed and clean kitchen to prepare regional food and a large table to have wonderful dinners afterwards. The comfortable living-room provided a lot of space to have a glas of wine (also bought nearby) after dinner. Bedrooms were all very nice and decorated in different colours. Bathrooms and showers were totally fine and also very clean. The furniture were picked very well and perfectly supported the ambience. Television/Radio and Wifi worked flawlessly (but who needs those on vacation – Except the Wifi sometimes). When planning our roundtrip in France in 2016, we decided to spend a week in a little tiny village. To spend time close to the people there......and we've got exactly that. A very familiar and typical french village.....we loved it by the time we opened the door to the property and walked through the narrow streets afterwards. Everything was fine. Shopping possibilities are close to the house. Regional products like fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, fish (and Oysters!!) you can find on the weekly market (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and of course in local stores. By the way - there is an excellent greengrocery left to the market in the "rue de marché" - Where else ... :-). Bakeries, butchers and a pizzeria you will find round the marketplace. Also the typical bistros to have a traditional "Pastis".

This is a great family house for a vacation. We stayed at La Vigne de Villiers for a Christmas stay with our family of 6. The house is comfortable, spacious, and well equipped. This is an old house, with a charming appearance and an in-village location (walking distance to local retailers), that has been thoroughly remodeled with modern amenities. We will stay there again at our next trip to visit my parents in Beziers.

This is an amazing house in a charming location. The house exceeded my expectations, it is necely decorated, well kept, well organized and has a lot of facilities for the whole family. A lovely secluded garden. Our host gave us plenty of information, and the arrangement with keys worked really well. We had some questions, and recieved very quick answers. We enjoyed the surroundings; the beach, the historical sites, the local markets and a wine museum near by. And of course the bakeries...

Excellent communications with the owner. The location is outstanding for the 50+ crowd who want to have a quiet place from which to do day trips all over the Languedoc region. Or a family wanting close proximity to beaches and family activities. The village location makes for easy food shopping, great rustic locale and a romantic setting. We are very seriously considering returning to the same location next year because we think there is still another 10 days of touring possible in the area. The villa provides the unique opportunity to relax totally one day, visit the beach the next and drive to any number of neighbouring towns to visit castles, churches, abbeys, etc. etc.
