The Villa is simply amazing. Has a breathtaking view,is very well equipped and we really loved the sound system which allows you to listen to music all over the place. We are definitely coming back!
No downsides, but it can happen that you come across a spider or some ants. Why? Because you're in the middle of nature:-) Raj was very helpful providing tips and recommendations in advance - thanks again!
Wow! What a wonderful place. Every bit as gorgeous as pictured and described. We spent 4 luxurious days in the villa enjoying the infinity pool, the incredible view, waking to howler monkeys, cooking wonderful meals and venturing out for a fantastic day of sea kayaking set up by the helpful property manager. As others have noted, the driving in this part of Costa Rica is rough, fun but rough. definitely get a 4x4 and enjoy the serpentine unpaved roads south to montezuma (the waterfall is awesome, as is the climb), and mal pais and st theresa beach are BEAUTIFUL! We stayed here the first 4 days of our 2 1/2 week visit to Costa Rica and could not be happier with our decision to stay at Raj's gorgeous villa.
We just returned from our honeymoon in Cost Rica where we stayed at Roma del Mar...it was unbelievable. The pictures here don't even do the house justice, it is a jaw-dropping view, beautifully decorated and well-kept. We cooked most meals outside overlooking the gorgeous bay, went zip lining in the mountains, went on some day trips to nearby beaches as well as the beach 3km away...all beautiful. The house was lovely, comfortable and well-stocked with kitchen basics, towels, etc. The pool was amazing, what a view! I read 3 books there, going back and forth between sunbathing and swimming to cool off. We also got massages by the pool from Anja, who we highly recommend. The store on the property is reasonably priced and well-stocked, and there are bigger market within a 30 minute drive. Raj sent tons of information before we went so we were well-prepared, and the property manager, Arlene, was a big help as well, with tips on what to do and help booking excursions and massages. They recommend a small SUV and I have to agree, the roads are rough but well-worth it for those views. W didn't have any problems driving. Pura vida!
We rented this Villa for our honeymoon and it as advertised! It was a great house with spectacular views and nice amenities. The local grocery was very convenient and the development has some great staff that helped make the entire experience easier. Raj was also VERY helpful in advance of our arrival with great tips and advice. SUV is required. The roads in CR are improving, but immediately around the house is very rough. Also it should be noted that this is a pretty isolated area. This is great and a bit of a drag. The next closest town (ATM, etc) is 30mins away; and any touristy type towns are a couple of hours away. If you're looking for a place to be secluded in paradise this is great! If you want the party town, this isn't it (unless you're importing the party :) ). All in all, a GREAT place, we plan on going back.
We enjoyed every minute of our relaxing stay at the villa! Raj provided many good tips on sights to see along the way, places in the area to visit, as well as a detailed map with photos on how to find the villa. The villa is even prettier than the photos! Laying by the pool all day, watching the ferry pass by, and seeing the beautiful birds made for a most relaxing week! We met several of the wonderful neighbors, including the property managers/developers and were even invited to a neighborhood dinner party with amazing local foods and a mariachi band!
Do not overpack! You don't need a suitcase full of clothes, just flip flops, water shoes or Teva type sandal to walk to the beach and a pair of shorts and a sarong to lounge by the pool in. There is a wonderful onsite grocery store with fresh produce arriving on Thursdays. We grilled local shrimp and fresh chicken on the outdoor BBQ, made pitchers of tropical drinks and enjoyed relaxing music from our iPhones through the whole house speaker system every day. One evening we placed candles all around the edge of the pool and enjoyed an evening swim. The private beach is a 3 min walk and it is beautiful! I called it Shell beach, because it is not sand, it is entirely little crushed and miniature shells, just beautiful! We will definitely be back to this villa! Thank you Raj and everyone at Roma Del Mar!
We chose that villa for our honeymoon! The house was absolutely perfect with an amazing view of the ocean! It was so clean! It felt like home! We spent so many hours in the infinity pool!! The owner was very nice and helpful! We felt so secure there! If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, that would be the best one!!!
