The Space

Our house is very sunny, comfortable and everybody has his own space, the room we rent has a private balcony on the woods and has direct sunshine in the morning. we are very close to centre, the connection with almost every part of the city is very easy with public transport and also very close to train station, minutes walking distance to Trastevere, Gianicolo, the river Tiber, in the house liveGaia, her daughter Sibilla and their pets, a dog: Poldo, and a very shy cat: Popoki.
To reach the house.
from Fiumicino International Airport, take the train directly inside the airport to Trastevere Station, and tram number 8 for two stops, to Piazza Ippolito Nievo.
from Ciampino Airport take the bus to Termini Central Station, from there bus H to Piazza Ippolito Nievo.

To move around the city the best way from home is number 8 tram to centre, in 10 minutes you can choose where to walk: Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, Foro Romano, Spanish Steps...

To eat: just down the street, 2 minutes walking a typical italian called 'Il Buchetto', or the best pizza ever in two 8 tram stops...however ask Gaia for further advices.

Our house is strategically in the center but has the beneficts of being down a wood hill, so the air is clean, and the neighborhood is nice.

  • Beautiful apartment in the nicest area of Rome. Our room was spacious and well-lit with a balcony and private toilet. Gaia is a lovely lady and made our stay in Rome enjoyable and relaxing. Her dinner recommendation for traditional Italian food nearby was great. We enjoyed the 20 min walk to city center- it was nice to escape from the hustle and bustle in the evening. Thanks Gaia! xx

  • I absolutely loved my visit to Rome. Gaia's place felt familiar and we were very comfortable there. It's a spacious flat on the fourth floor decorated in a bohemian style with a lot of artwork and books. The room is large and bright with a small balcony. Gaia gave us some great advice on where to eat and which tourist traps to avoid. The neighbourhood was nice and the apartment conveniently located 2 min walking distance from the tram line 8 that takes you up towards the more busy part of Trastevere and across the Tiber all the way up to the Pantheon.
Thank you Gaia for this positive experience!

  • Gaia and her daughter were helpful, kind and gracious hosts. The room we stayed in was a large private space that we felt very comfortable in. I would certainly recommend this apartment to friends staying in Roma.

  • She was very kind because we arrived before the time of the check in and she still helped us and made everything possible to be on the time we were arriving allowing us to leave or bags and go around the city. The location of the apartment is great because, although it isn’t in the touristy centre, is very near to Trastevere and everything can be comfortably reached with public transportation. Regarding the other aspects what you see is what you get: a decent room, shared bathroom with her and Italian breakfast the first day.

  • Gaia's room is was the biggest one we had in our entire European holiday. We liked how cosy a home it was and always looked forward to coming back after a long day visiting attractions.

Speaking of that, her apartment is well situated in the city (the charming Trastevere) and just beside a tram station. The tram will pretty much take you to most of the important tourist attractions in Rome within 5-10 minutes. If you are ever lost, just hop onto a cab and the driver will almost be able to take you home without too much directions and finger-pointing.

If you are an animal lover, you will enjoy the experience of being greeted by Poldo (her friendly dog) and, if you are lucky enough, Popoki (the shy cat). We are both animal lovers and enjoyed the company of Gaia's pets.

  • Superb location and great friendly host, Gaia. Cheerful dog Poldo, lost of sunshine and amazing city. Great stay for a week in Rome. It's not 5-star hotel, obviously, and with proper expectation management and reality check (price!) you'll have a great stay.
