Our house is very sunny, comfortable and everybody has his own space, the room we rent has a private balcony on the woods and has direct sunshine in the morning. we are very close to centre, the connection with almost every part of the city is very easy with public transport and also very close to train station, minutes walking distance to Trastevere, Gianicolo, the river Tiber, in the house liveGaia, her daughter Sibilla and their pets, a dog: Poldo, and a very shy cat: Popoki.
To reach the house.
from Fiumicino International Airport, take the train directly inside the airport to Trastevere Station, and tram number 8 for two stops, to Piazza Ippolito Nievo.
from Ciampino Airport take the bus to Termini Central Station, from there bus H to Piazza Ippolito Nievo.
To move around the city the best way from home is number 8 tram to centre, in 10 minutes you can choose where to walk: Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, Foro Romano, Spanish Steps...
To eat: just down the street, 2 minutes walking a typical italian called 'Il Buchetto', or the best pizza ever in two 8 tram stops...however ask Gaia for further advices.
Our house is strategically in the center but has the beneficts of being down a wood hill, so the air is clean, and the neighborhood is nice.
The kitchen is not accessible for guests, though they can store their goods on the fridge if they need to.
The bathroom: there's a toilet only for the guests, and a bathroom for the family, where the guests can take their shower.
If you are looking for a quite place without any social interaction with your host, ( like in a normal hotel) this is the place to be. If you like a place where you have contact, a host who is caring about its customers, I would recommend something else.
Gaia is very business minded and not building relationships with her visitors, at the check in she did not make us feel like "home". she left for a couple of days to the south, did not contacted us about checking out or asked smth like: did you enjoy your stay. She just doesn't care , she is very used to airbnb visitors and you are just a number. We felt uncomfortable and even a bit not welcome.
we only could use the "sleeping" room, so the living room (on the main picture!) was not presented to us. In my view The purpose of airbnb is to create a "feeling like a local" experience for a couple of days, that includes feeling a bit like "Home" at the host you are staying with. Besides that the room we were staying at was clean and cute and the location is perfect, I would definately recommend something else in Trastevere.
Nice and individual appartment with friendly hosts in a nice local neighbourhood with good public transport options for exploring beautiful rome! We can recommend Gaias place.
We had four really nice days in this beautiful city. There is so much to see and also to spend lazy time in different famous and not-so-famous behind-the-scene places - having a cafe, pizza, pasta, gelato, whine and more that we actually did not spend much time in the appartment. Although it is a nice and individual appartment, also clean and quite for a reasonable price with a friendly dog, a shy cat and last but not least :-) Gaia and her daughter Sybilla as welcoming hosts. Of course, you should not mind to share the bathroom, as you have a private toilette outside the room, but no bathroom. (But that´s the idea - or used to be? - of airbnb, isn´t it? We felt comfortable.)
For us the appartement was also well locates as it is just a little bit outside the tourist frequented part of Trastevere in a nice neighboorhood. With Tram 8 just in front of the house, running every 5 minutes till late, you can get easily to Piazza Venicia in city center, passing the old part of Trastevere, river Tiber and Campo de Fiori quarter nearby. So you can have a cafe and a quick breakfast with the locals in one of the little unspectacular cafes in the morning and then get into the heart of city center to start your "tourist day". Getting there from Fiumicino airport is also very easy in maximum 60 minutes with catching a train running every 15 minutes to Travestere station (7€ oneway) and get Tram 8 for another two stations.
Thanks und Greetings

The apartment was easy to find just off a main road. The room was large open plan with a double bed in a corner and small living space attached with couch and table. So good for relaxing in after a long day! There is also a great view from the window. Overall the room was clean. Shower is an over the bath without curtain so we had to be careful not to splash over onto the floor. There is a separate toilet for guests, although the bowl felt a bit unstable as if not secured properly into the floor but had no problems flushing. Not right in the middle of all of the action but close near bus and trams. Nice and quiet at night. Gaia was a friendly and helpful host and we enjoyed our stay.
Gaia estuvo correcta y nos informó de las cosas que le preguntamos.
Gaia was flexible for check in even if it wasn't convenient for her, the room was very nice and the location is good too. We had a problem with the electricity and was hard to reach them but other than that our short stay was ok.
Gaia's house is exactly as pictured, our dream Italian home, very close to the center of rome where all the main attractions are. Tram #8 is right down the street which takes you to the center, we loved our big room with a small balcony with a pretty view. Gaia is nice and very accommodating, her pets are amazing, we always looked forward to Poldo (Gaia's dog) greeting us after a long tiring day. We wish to come back soon! - Camille & Roshan
