This apartment is located on Via de Gigli D’Oro, 25, just behind the famous Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori. This is probably the most popular square among Roman young people, and one of the favourite sites for visitors. During the day, Campo dei Fiori is bursting with life and hustle thanks to its colourful market, in which you will find fresh vegetables and fruit, inexpensive clothes and souvenirs sold by easy-going locals that always enjoy a good chat, whether you are a new comer or you have already visited the Eternal City before. During the night, Campo dei Fiori changes its face completely, and the food stands give place to people from all over the world. The atmosphere will capture you in a way that you may find yourself not wanting to leave Rome any more! The apartment is also 300 metres away from Pantheon, and at a walking distance from the best historical sites in the capital and the popular Roman cafes, restaurants and shops.
As for public transportation, simply you will need it because you can reach all mayor touristic points by feet.
This apartment is EXTREMELY SMALL perhaps the world's smallest, but there is in a FANTASTIC LOCATION, it is very nice, friendly and equipped. It is on the third floor of a building of 1600 (withot lift). To give a good idea of the size necessary to compare in a little sailboat.
Entering the apartment you are in a VERY SMALL ROOM equipped with a kitchenette, fridge, table with 2 stools and cupboards. From this room you climb a wooden ladder to the loft where you will find ONLY THE SPACE for a queen size bed, HI FI, TV LCD and air conditioning hot and cold. The bathroom is small but complete with shower, toilet, washbasin and bidet. This apartment is ideal for young couples who want to live on a budget, the magic of the old (website hidden) CON, FREE INTERNET WIFI.

We had the nost amazing time in il nildo. The location is the best, we have stayed in rome for seven days and didnt have to take the metro or bus! The aparment is small but has all you need, if you manage tobe organized, the space is no problem, it is actually even cosy. A big plus is that the hot water last enough for a shower, which i dindt find in other places in europee. To sum up, I strongly recommend il nido, thanks for all Luigi!
INSPECT YOUR APARTMENT as soon as you arrive for any airbnb reservation. You have 24 hours to contact the host about problems and potentially have it resolved or receive a refund, but after that you are pretty much outta luck.
If rating our stay at this apartment and not our actually trip, than it was very poor for several reasons:
- found lots of black mold in the bedroom, hidden in the upper corner
- PILES of dust under the bed, I was always congested
- kitchen sink leaked profusely down the side
- door to bathroom had grime on the bottom
- host highly recommends reserving a taxi costing $65 as the best way to get to the apartment.. I'm glad we didn't as you can take the shuttle bus that drops you literally 4 blocks away which was WAY cheaper (even for 4 travelers it would be cheaper).
- check the total cost before booking....highest cleaning fee and the place wasn't even clean when we got there..
The size of this apartment is not the issue, but the cleanliness, or lack thereof, is. The host was unwilling to work with us after we found the issues because of the 24 hour policy. We do not recommend this location or host.
The apartment has a very good location. The apartment is very small but it is ok if you want to visit rome and don't spend time in the apartment.
I was surprised to be welcomed by an agency. I think it is quite disappointed to have another intermediary. In fact you pay through airbnb, you are in touch with luigi who is the apartment owner, your are welcomed by anna claudia who ask you to pay an extra for late check in after 8PM based on the agency agreement.
To be honest i don't understood why I should pay more based on the fact that the payment is done through airbnb, and I am not supposed to pay more for other services. It was not clear on that part.
in your booking confirmation was written:
Regole della Casa
For early morning arrivals, clients are advises to book from the night before to guaranteed the access to their apartment before 14: on the arrival day. For arrivals after 20.00 a fee of 25 euro is requested for the check-in. For arrivals after 24.00 a fee of 50 euro is requested for the check-in.
The same message was sent to your e-mail in the same day.
I do not understand where is the surprise
This is not no additional agency, I am the owner of the apartment and Mrs. Anna Claudia is the person in charge of check in operations that is free during normal business hours (from 9.00am to 8.00pm).
Outside the normal working hours there is an extra fee to be paid directly to the person in charge of your check in.
So, I'm very happy that you had a wonderful holiday in Rome and a good stay in my little apartment.
Enjoy your time
My boyfriend and I stayed at "Il Nido" for two weeks. The location was absolutely perfect: a minute's walk from Piazza Navona and a two minute walk from the Pantheon (and the city's best gelateria, Giolitti). It's in a lovely old building and the air-conditioning was excellent, an essential for a stay in Rome in the height of summer!
Luigi was very helpful in providing us with plenty of information about the apartment and surrounding area, and while he did warn us that the apartment was small - really small! - it was still a shock. "In my opinion, "Il Nido" is better suited to one person than two, especially for an extended stay.
Luigi's apartment was exactly what I wanted for my stay in Rome. My boyfriend and I felt right at home, and the small size didn't bother us at all, we rather enjoyed it. It is the perfect little flat if you want to stay in the small streets of Rome. I would definitely go back!
