The loft has recently been restored and combines the latest technology like wi-fi, tv set, heating with the typical characteristics of the ancient tuscan houses like terracotta floors and ancient beamed ceilings.
L'accesso del palazzo si apre sulla piazza Signorelli, subito adiacente la piazza del Comune, di fronte al Museo MAEC, quindi prossima tutti i servizi che la città offre ai suoi ospiti.
The house entrance is located in Piazza Signorelli, very close to Piazza del Comune, hart of the town, near to every event that Cortona offers to his guests and in front of the main museum, the Maec.
Reach Cortona by Train
Is possible to reach Cortona by trains very easy from the most tourist places like ROME, PISA, VENICE all you have to do is to get the the line Florence – Rome and stop at station of “Cortona-Camucia" station which is the closest to Cortona and but is served only by slow trains called “Regionali",or the other train station of Terontola served by faster trains called “IR" Intercity. Boths stations are connected to Cortona by bus. The Terontola station is 10 km from Cortona and the Camucia station is 4 km from Cortona. The train schedules can be obtained from the official timetable of the “Trenitalia" website.
Cortona by Bus from trains station of Camucia and Terontola
Just outside of the trains station of Camucia on your left you will see a bench covered where to take a bus for Cortona centre. Usually buses fall every half hours. The same from Terontola station where the bus stops is in front of the trains stations about 15 meter at your left (last bus to Cortona is at 8pm. On Sunday is at 07.10pm)
Remember is important to buy before you're tickets to go. You can buy at the bar of the station or at the Tabacchi shop walking 5 minutes up to the main road in front to the station. You'll find the tabacchi shop right after the first cross at you're left. (Routers feed are 1.50€ for person)
Cortona public Bus services
From Cortona piazza Garibaldi square there is a public bus stop that make services to Camucia train station, Terontola train station, Castiglion Fiorentino, Arezzo train Station, Usually buses fall every half hours.
You can buy your tickets in advance to any local Tabacchi's shop, or make it on the bas with a surcharge".
Cortona is very small and Piazza Garibaldi is only 5-7 minutes walking from home,
for a day trip in some beautiful places as Val d'Orcia, with Pienza, Bagni Vignone, ecc. I would suggest you to rent a car.
The only day trip I recommend taking the train for, is to Florence.
If you plan to stay put during your week in Cortona, you do not need to have a car at all, everything you need can be found in town.
