Description

The space

Very large unit, over 700 square feet. We have snorkel gear, boogie boards, towels and chairs for your use. We also have a large backyard that is suitable for intimate events. If you are renting both units there are no extra charges for the outdoor event space. Great for small wedding receptions.

Guest access

All entrances are private. Private bath. Share spaces include the yard, laundry and outdoor kitchen.

Interaction with guests

As much or as little as they would like. Generally will see guests in the morning as they depart and in the evening when we deliver the baked goods and fruit.

The neighborhood

It is very rural and quiet except for the jungle noises. Extremely close to the best snorkeling on the island. Great views. Lots of local fruit production and the coffee!

Getting around

Parking is included and on the street level. Bus is not convenient. Recommend rental car. We did have someone show up on bikes.

Other things to note

We have a large production of avocados on the property and encourage people to eat all they can! Serve fruits we grow when available.

It's a very comfortable and sweet space with a fantastic lanai and super-friendly hosts. The breakfast they make every morning is Extremely Good (huge, healthy yet delicious homemade muffins + fresh fruit!) and they have fully stocked amenities from coffee to sugar, honey, spices, shampoo, life vests, coolers, snorkle gear, really everything we needed was available free. Even books. Cute shower. extremely comfortable bet, very nice overall.

Great location close to captain cook yet truly in coffee farm country. Large unit with great views and even better breakfast of fresh fruit from the farm and muffins. It is a farm with chickens, cats, dogs, and frogs. We went snorkeling at Manini beach just down the road. They have everything you need for a beach day available e relax on the large lanai and when it gets dark rest on your king sized sleep number bed.

Lovely, spacious apartment with a casual, friendly vibe! This is a great place to stay if you want to be away from the touristy/cruise ship/hotel part of Kona, and close to great snorkeling, beaches, antiques (!!) and fresh local food. We were pleasantly surprised at how large the space was: full kitchen and fridge, comfy couch and TV in living room, and awesome king bed and strong shower in the bedroom. There are glass doors and a deck all along the back of the apartment that look out over the property and downhill to the ocean, perfect for breakfast or wine and reading in the evening. Tina and Keri deliver fresh baked muffins and tropical fruit from their property, plus a bag of delicious Poi Dog coffee grown on site! This lasted us the whole trip, and it was the best gift to be drinking coffee from our first stop on our last morning in Hawaii, way on the other side of the island. Mahalo! We hope to be back!

Tina and Keri's places is absolute pearl and we will no doubt return here if/when we come back to the Big Island. The place has a magnificent view from the newly done veranda which has excellent lounge chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped (love the water boiler for us Europeans lol) and even had some basic necessities like salt/pepper and olive oil. The home-grown coffee is a great perk and we enjoyed grinding and brewing a fresh cup every morning. Breakfast is included and super fresh and local. Great amenities for water sports like beach chairs, snorkel gear, body boards, coolers, etc. can't think of anything we missed. Also a nice book selection for use/exchange in the apartment. There is a great 'lanai' where the hosts grow avocados, papaya, bananas, coffee and more which I loved! They are also very environment friendly which I think is an absolute plus. There is an adjustable bed (you can change the firmness of the mattress) which I've never had before. Apartment was clean. There is a tiny lizard/gecko that befriended us in the house, given the location expect some of these. Our hosts gave us great recommendations for beaches and tips for restaurants etc. By far one of the best airbnb's we've stayed.

Tina and Keri made us feel at home. We absolutely love the rural living and listening to the frogs and birds at night. The sunset was gorgeous . The bed was super comfortable and the outdoor kitchen minimal. But with the barbecue and stove we were able to cook fish, lobster, and make passion fruit jam. They brought us breakfast every morning and avocados were endless. What more could you ask for? Ooh it was in the center of the island halfway between everything ( the volcanos, hilo, waimae, ) We had a Magnificent time many thanks for having us we will return again.

Keri and Tina vacationed on the big island many time before calling it home. We love working our farm and meeting new people from around the world. Sharing the Aloha in these wonderful surroundings makes our day.
Keri is a veterinarian and works her own practice in the South Kona area and Tina is a retired nurse that worked in corporate healthcare management. Both of us are thrilled to have made our home in such a beautiful and peaceful place. Aloha
